  • "You're the healthiest person I know." Said to me by the president of the company I work for. It probably isn't saying much, haha. But I took it as a HUGE compliment.:drinker:
  • I personally have never looked like the person I want to look like. There is no picture of me in the past I'm shooting for. I already look better than I ever have. Using a picture of someone with a similar height, age and body type gives me an idea of the possibilities. Not everyone is trying to get back to where they used…
  • I tried the hooded litter box when my three were kittens. It lasted about a day. The Maine Coon pooped in my Zen Garden sand box. He would walk over to the litter box, stick his head inside and obviously decide I was trying to Napalm him, walk away and pee on my bed. With cats, just like beer, I've found open containers…
  • People think they're flattering you when really, it's insulting. Like...are they blind or do they think I'm stupid? I just smile and nod. The people who care about me respect and encourage my goals. The general public just.doesn't.get.it.
  • I put a tablespoon full in my cereal every morning. Plus, they're white chia seeds so they pretty much blend in.
  • You're not alone. I can't breathe outside. Of course, my air is not all that fresh. It's muggy and polluted. So I MUCH prefer the treadmill.
  • I only live 22 miles from work but it takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half to get there thanks to traffic. So, I spend that time listening to NPR and some pretty awesome music. It's practically the only alone time I have so I try to use it wisely.
  • 1. Week 6, Day 2 2. So far, yes. 3. I extended in Week 4 because I was trying to run too fast. Once I slowed down, I was able to progress without issue. 4. I usually run Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays so I complete one week in 7 days. 5. I'm training for the Warrior Dash in September and maybe the Color Me Rad in…
  • I want to be fit and strong for the rest of my life. My little brother is 5 and he's counting on me to be. I want people to perceive me as athletic just once in my life. I like how I feel when I've finished: strong and powerful. And I like to eat. The harder I work, the more food I can enjoy.
  • I was allergic to milk as a child...not lactose intolerant. That came later. I would have an asthma attack due to the respiratory issues milk created so I never developed a taste for it. I use Almond Milk for most everything. Still don't drink it straight so I stick to the unsweetened original.
  • I'm in Stage 1 of the New Rules of Lifting. I love it! I've never seriously weight trained before. And it's seriously my favorite thing! You should get the book. Lou helps you understand the philosophy behind what he's saying first so it's less intimidating. Feel free to add me if you'd like support!

  • I'd definitely take the money. No matter how hard I work at my job, I'm not going to get that. But the harder I work at my body, the closer I'm going to get to my goal. I want that achievement to be mine, not someone else's gift.
  • Ditto! My little brother is 5. He's all the kid I'm ever going to need. Love every minute of him.

  • I eat some type of dessert every day, sometimes twice a day. If we go out, I might eat half a piece of pie instead of the whole piece or if I've worked really hard that day/week, I'll have the whole piece. I eat different desserts than I used to, but at the end of the day, I feel good about what I eat and how much weight…
  • I'm not sure what I would log if I didn't log my vegetables.
  • I'm training for the Warrior Dash in September. Also, next year, I want to be strong enough to rock climb. And my ultimate of all ultimate goals is to be able to join a Cross Fit Gym.
  • At least a gallon a day.
  • I have a cup of YamaMotoYama Sushi Bar Style Green Tea every morning. It literally makes my day. :drinker:
  • I do this. But mostly it's the inside cheek of my lower lip. If I'm talking or eating or distracted, I do not do this. But if I'm driving and I'm in traffic, I can tear it up. Crazy.

  • ^This. And I can't even tell you the last time my body said "I want meat". If it ever did. Don't like it, don't want it, don't miss it. I eat vegetables. Lots of them. In lots of different ways. Processed soy options aren't the ONLY options out there.
  • Yes! So right! Thanks for sharing!
  • Those calves are diesel! You rock!
  • Awesome!
  • I don't like meat. Gave up beef in my early 20s. Can't even THINK about going back there. It literally makes me gag. And when I used to eat it, it made me sick every.single.time. Toward the end of my twenties poultry and pork starting having the same effect. I felt unnaturally full no matter how little of it I ate. And my…
  • For me, what helps is not thinking about replacing a meat meal with a meat substitute (although I do). I changed my idea of what constitutes a meal. I started with the basic protein/starch/green vegetable concept. Beans and rice are your friend. Tofu which I have buffaloed, barbecued, grilled, fried, baked, broiled,…
  • I try to buy a few new things with every size change...staples, like black and brown pants. It gets me through without investing a lot. Most of my shirts still work even though they're getting a little baggy.
  • You CAN do this! If you want some encouragement, feel free to add me!
