Whenever I read panics about a few pounds put on in a short time, my first thought is that I put on 5-7 pounds each month with pms bloat, which is gone again in a week. Taken in isolation, small gains aren't a reason to panic. How many cals over your maintenance would it take to put on 4 pounds of fat? Have you physically…

I don't actually have mum guilt. They made it to adulthood, and I resisted wringing their necks during all those obnoxious phases kids go through. My eldest gives me good reviews. My youngest is still in his teens, so he gives good reviews immediately before and after favours, and mostly grunts at all other times. There's…

You aren't useless. If it wasn't tough, this site wouldn't exist. Even people who look like they're succeeding easily can be deceptive. I'm a healthy weight, exercise regularly, but still daren't keep cookies in the house because my will power would just crumple and I'd binge the whole box! You're not alone in this.

Start by weighing/measuring and logging everything (EVERYTHING!) you eat and drink, tracking calories. It'll give you a better idea of what you might be getting wrong. There's a lot of diet solutions out there, and knowing what your issues are will help you pick the right one for you.

Cold turkey. If you cut off the sweet stuff completely, after a few days the cravings will dwindle. But that's a bit extreme.

Heh, it's actually cheered me up that you all get it. My favourite apeman is sympathetic, fetches cake, but doesn't really get it. thanks! X I guess I'm lucky. I've got a tens, good pills, a mastiff for a pillow, an apeman to fetch cake and fruit, and an understanding manager who agrees that this is a good reason to take a…

I wouldn't have eaten more than one puff, and I wouldn't have told a guest off for eating more than one puff. Both are a little rude, but neither should be a big deal.

Watch a few episodes of Dr pimple popper on YouTube. :)

If eating low calorie for the occasional day made you gain, 5:2 wouldn't work for so many people. What are you eating? That might be just as important as how much, especially as you have IBS and a fluctuating appetite. Are you regular? Because if your digestive system is sluggish and bunged up, it's not going to help your…

I'll be following this thread. My youngest, now 18yo, was 10lb 12oz. I'm split literally top to bottom (or ribs to pube) and don't want to make things any worse. I've read conflicting advice, it seems like everyone is guessing and assuming, so I just try to keep toned with gentle exercise and avoid anything that puts lots…

"I could care less" :s People who park their cars on the pavement, so that pushchairs and wheelchairs have to go into the road. Small dogs yapping. Casual ableism.

Skinny shaming also comes with a "she thinks she's all that!". You're assumed to be vain, and you're assumed to feel superior to fat people. Nobody ever assumed I was looking down on them when I was chubby.

Buy him a strongbox. Or fit a padlock to one cupboard. Compromise.

Therapy. Therapy is great. Sometimes you need more than a pep talk, an ap, or a kick up the butt. Sometimes you need to figure out why you aren't motivated to prioritise your well-being. Detox your mind, shed the excess weight from your head first.

full check-up. everything. full bloods. that should always be top of the list, even if it's not the most likely cause. eliminate any medical reasons for this. have you ever had therapy/counselling? not specifically about your weight, but about any other issues in your life. it might be worth getting some, even if the…

ask the staff when they're quietest. or just the friendliest face you see in there. everyone will just assume you prefer not waiting for equipment and getting distracted.

this. anyone who values a woman, who rates her 'real woman' status on whether or not she has a body you'd like to get into bed, is something i'm not allowed to type on a polite site like this. real women, like real men, are people with integrity.

maybe, like with AA, you need a sponsor who you can call when you feel like giving in. a friend or family member who you can call up, so that they can talk you out of it. it's not something that would work for everyone, but I figured it's worth putting out there.

if your theory were true, there would be no such thing as body dysmorphia.

then you'll know that the world is full of idiots who will read that post and take it as what he said, not what you think he meant. and the shelters are full of their victims.
-
been to a shelter recently? that's why.
-
terrible post! dogs are a serious commitment, to be acquired only after proper consideration and planning. shelters are full of pups bought by some bozo why thought it would fix their health, relationship, security issues, etc.

the less variety in your diet, the less chance you have of getting all the nutrients you need. does that meal plan contain absolutely everything?
-
you can undo most things. that's why it's always worth changing for the better. but... you have to accept that not all health issues that arise will be diet related. sometimes even the healthiest eaters, raised on the best diet available, taking plenty of exercise, will still have some health issues. bear that in mind when…

dear certain men, women aren't rejecting you because you're not rich & hung, they're rejecting you because you're bitter and have no respect for us. dear thread starter, each guy I dated had something different that attracted me. usually a passion or talent that intrigued me, sometimes i couldn't put my finger on what it…
