Agree, you have to try different brands to determine what you like. You mentioned supplementing your vegeterian diet, so you probably would be looking for a Soy protein powder vs Whey protein. Many of the brands & types on the market our Whey based proteins.

I would agree you need to ease yourself into running. I know that I need to make sure that I'm warmed up before I do any running otherwise I have shin splints. Also, if you haven't - you should visit a running store and have them evaluate the type of running shoe you need. It's possible that your shoes are not providing…

If you have to stop at McDonald's, there are some smarter choice to be made. I would suggest reviewing there nutritional information online (http://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en/food/food_quality/nutrition_choices.html). They've made changes to their menu in the last 2 years since that article was published. My goto items from…

they have a key west shrimp skewer dinner with a side of broccoli.

As others have mentioned - it's best to rest it and see a DR to help determine the problem. The pain you're feeling might be from a Fracture or Neuroma...both can be caused by over doing it and inproper fitting shoes. Good luck with your recovery!

Amazing - Congrats on your success todate!

most days I start out with an omelet (1 egg, 2 servings of Egg beaters, sara lee ham slices, spinash) and then 2 slices of 45 calorie wheat bread. for a special treat I might has some precooked bacon in place of ham. if time is an issue - market day has some small mini cheese omelets that are really good too.

I've found that if I don't stretch my legs, calves, and shins prior to walking/running I get them. Also, when my shoe get older. So, I suggest a good pair of shoes for you and too stretch before your workout! On those days that you get the shin pain, maybe do a different type of cario workout (bike or eliptical).

I really don't know how much is too much...I would try to stay at 1 or 2 whole eggs and then a couple of egg whites/beaters per day. You might try adding the following items into your meals; Chobani Greek Yogurt, Low-Fat Cottage Cheese, Boneless Chicken breast, Fish filets (talapia, salmon), 1% or Fat-Free milk, low-sodium…

I would suggest a Omron pedometer. Walmart carries one that is around $25. I've used previously and had good luck with it...plus I could put in my pocket versus clipping on belt/pants. You'll need to follow the instruction on setting the steps for you - you walk out a certain # of steps and then measure that distance to…

i'm not sure what 2 servings of carbs is or how many grams that would be for you. It's been suggested to me in our classes that we shoot for 1 g of protein for each lbs of muscle and then 2 carbs for each protein. My goal is for 160 g of protein and 320 g of carbs per day, the carbs should be coming from whole grains,…

I would agree with other responses too - try to limit the amount of prepackaged foods, if you do eat them - make sure to drink extra water, plus if you're excerising that much you'll need extra water to replace what you sweat out. You might try to add more protein to each of your meals and snacks...maybe shoot for 25-30…

1) just plain with pepper or 2) a packet of tuna/celery salt and some triscuit crackers.

I would suggest looking at PB2 - a powered peanut butter. Yuo can add powered to shakes or mix with water to make a creamy peanut butter.

I weigh myself daily and log/record my weight weekly on Monday night.

I agree with others, you should increase your calorie intake each day. You might want to add some additional protein to your diet. I would add your addtional calories throughout the day (meals & snacks). Ideas for protein would be: eggs, egg beaters, greek yogurt (chobani), low-fat cheese, fish, shakes (mixes). Make sure…

I agree with many of the suggestions; Egg/Egg Beaters, Hard boiled, Ham, Bacon, Turkey saugage, English Muffine (light-multi grain), Oatmeal, Protein Shakes...maybe use some Peanut Butter or Cream Cheese on your toast.

Yes, I'm eating 170 - 180 g of protein a day...I try to eat 1 g of protein for each pound of lean muscle. I don't do it will all meat, because I do need to get my carbs in each day too. I'm 5 meals a day and try to vary them up each day with the following; shakes, eggs & egg beaters, chobani yogurt, detour bars, string…

Agree with bluiz13 - you should probably balance out your protein intake throughout the day. maybe eat 5 smaller meals/snacks during the day, will a variety of protein sources. Also, how about adding a protein shake to your day... I don't think eating 12 oz of chicken or lean meat in one meal is going to help you...I…

- kennedar: you probably need to check the setting on your HRM to ensure it has the proper heart rate zone programed for you. The max heart rate is probably set too low for you. Each of has our own heart rate zones and the charts are just averages. - jalara: most HRM have a alarm setting. You might need to check the…

I agree - it's best to visit a running store and get properly fitted! Each running shoe is designed for a different type of runner, the associates at the store should be able to advise you on the best shoes for your type of running (neutral, under-pronator or over-pronator). Having the proper fitted shoe & type made a huge…

It would probably be best to have your body analysis done as well as maybe a V02 max test. You'll find out what your actual body fat percentage is, your resting metabolic rate, daily calorie needs as well as where your heart rate should be to burn the most fat calories. Yes, there are the suggested guidelines for all of…
