I've lost over 100 lbs the old-fashioned way - by diet & exercise. I will definitely need skin removal surgery. Whether I'll get it remains to be seen; I'm still losing. It does not really have to do with weight loss surgery vs natural methods. It has to do with many other things like genes, skin elasticity, how big one…

Sino19, it sounds to me like you might have a food sensitivity to grains, possibly wheat. I found portion control impossible with certain foods. It has nothing to do with self-control when you have a food sensitivity. It can cause addictive responses. I tried eliminating grains completely & the constant cravings…

1. I don't believe in "cheats." we make decisions. I do not ever eat junk food, sugar, grains. I might indulge in extra healthy foods at times, extra calories, etc. I don't worry about how many extra calories there might be. It is an occasional indulgence & does not hurt my fat loss. 2. Never have cheats. See #1. lol... I…

Like I said... lol...

I weigh every single day. Why? Because I like to see how my body responds to what I did the day before - food, water intake, exercise, meal timing, sleep, etc. The scale is a useful tool. I don't have weight loss goals because I am interested in how I look & feel, not numbers in a scale. Up or down, the numbers don't rule…

lol... You really think soda is water?
-
I gave up diet - and all other - soda over a decade ago. noticeable results were saving money & it was a lot easier to get my water in! I was immediately pleased that I was no longer consuming the unnatural & potentially dangerous ingredients. That's it for me! No noticeable physical improvements at all but I had no…

You obviously have a comprehension problem if you have to ask this. No good would come from trying to explain it again.

It is way more complicated than calories in, calories out. But we really don't have any method to accurately figure all the things involved. Calories plus macros works as a helpful guideline for most of us as we are working at getting better bodies. But 100% accurate? lol...no way. not on any day. Thank goodness we don't…

I had wild-caught salmon with horseradish mustard for breakfast! Coffee with stevia & a big glass of water on the side.
-
Definitely. I don't think either are healthy. Assuming there is wheat (and other not so great ingredients) in the pasta I would say rice is the lesser of the two evils.

My Fitbit One does a very poor job of determining floors climbed. It is inconsistent and can't even do that consistently in the same direction. It will tell me I have climbed many extra floors and for the same number climbed it under-estimates the next time. I don't really pay much attention to that anymore.

I had cold salmon w/Baja Guac for breakfast with a big mug of hot coffee and a glass of water.

What: Chocolate Mint Coconut Oil Candy. Why: I was low on my fat intake for the day.
-
Giving up sugar and grains - easy. Giving up dairy - still struggle with that one.
-
It is very healthy, great for cooking. Just use it in place of other oils.

I've got my routine in my notes in my cell & I have my cell clipped to my waistband when working out. Years ago I would take a clipboard with the workout on it & I would fill in weights used & reps for each set. Using my cell is easier. The info is important to have for planning the next workout & knowing when/how much to…

Everything one eats counts.
-
No, being hungry does not help with weight loss.
-
There is no such thing as losing a certain number of pounds to equal inches lost. We can lose inches without losing any weight on the scale & we can lose on the scale w/o losing any inches.
-
lol... No clue. It is not important to me.
-
I enjoyed "free meals" that included sugary treats once or twice a week in the past but no longer do that. I don't feel the need or desire to anymore & prefer my indulgences to be healthy, non-sugary/starchy ones these days.
-
Bad idea. Skip ankle weights, etc. too. They add unnatural stress to the body & can lead to injuries.
-
I don't see what the weather has to do with doing weight training or not. When the weather is nice you can easily move cardio outside but that does not mean it is a good idea to skip weight training. I'd never give up my weight teaining. That is the frosting on the cake - what makes out bodies look great as we lose the fat…
-
I understand how frustrating that is. I learned not to talk about how I eat & that helped some. I learned to smile in response & not comment at all & that helped a bit, too. I lost over 100 lbs and that stopped the rest. lol...
-
No. The human body does not need to consume any carbohydrates at all. We can use carbs but only fat & protein are really needed.
-
Totally depends on one's definition of "food" and "diet." lol...

Did you try adjusting the stride length in Fitbit settings? There is info on how to do that. I have not adjusted the stride yet but I know I need to for better accuracy. I'm sure my steps & distance are off because Fitbit uses height to determine stride. I'm short-waisted & that means my legs are longer than the average…
