If you have it, there would be a small "attachment" on the top of each machine to put your Tag/Card in. If you don't have it, you might ask the Owner about it. It can be added, and you might have to pay a nominal fee to help off set the cost. My Curves did not charge extra, but I know some do.

As I understand it, all Machines are Estimating your Calorie Burn. A Heart Rate Monitor would be closest to a True measurement, I think. But the True Bottom Line is that I just don't really Trust the Numbers on any machine. But that is just Me. I never really based my Calories In on what the Machine or MFP said I burned…

I personally always used the CurvesSmart Number for the Calories Burned, but I know that both MFP and CS are Estimates. I think it is more important to just be consistent than to worry about which one is "More Accurate". Just use the one you like, but always use the same one -- In My Opinion.
