Why should you rely on it now, you ask. Well, if you're overweight, that could mean that you're not a particularly good judge of what you're eating. I know I wasn't. I thought I was making relatively healthy choices until I started logging. What I learned from logging was that I consistantly overserved myself. I mean, huge…

Unless I'm dizzy, I workout. Sweating it out usually works for me, and I'm sick for way shorter than I would have been had I not worked out.
-
I used a set of 5 pound weights..but some of the moves get a little intense, so I had 3 pound weights ready to go just in case.
-
Diet = look good with clothes on. Exercise = look good naked. That's why you should "bother" with cardio.
-
Nah..I know plenty of mean fat people. I know plenty of nice thin people. Maybe since you're busy with getting healthy, you realized you don't have time to deal with people's crap and don't mind letting them know about it.

Turbo Jam..it's like dance and kickboxing had a baby. Super fun, and can be modified for low impact.
-
Cardio, strength, diet. There's no tricks, sorry.

Yeah, I didn't notice it until I updated my ticker..it vanished. I don't like it at all. Oh well. Great job on your miles!

Well, this walking DVD, as cheesy as it is (I feel like such an old lady doing it because it's suuuuper easy), is working. In two days I've done 5 miles, which is way more than I've been doing lately. I think I hit my stride today. 1 mile as a warm up, then part 1 of my actual workout (the TurboFire schedule usually has…

That sucks! We've been getting hit by one cold front after another. A couple weeks ago it was in the 80s and now it's in the low 50s. Last night it went down to freezing. I totally get you about it being dark so early. 5 pm and almost pitch black is insane.
-
So, it's no secret that I haven't been walking/running/biking lately for a couple of reasons (most recently because it's effing cold here). I'm downloading a walk at home video right now, which, to be honest, I always thought was kinda lame/cheesy just because I'm used to intense workouts, but I'm going to give it a shot…

Less fat/calories/cholesterol, so yes, they're healthier. He might notice, but he might not. Some of my friends can't tell the difference between their real meat and my fake meat.
-
Someone told me "wow..you must feel like you're a better person now". Yeah, because I was a rapist/murderer when I was fatter. Another person asked how much I'd lost, and I told her, and she said "oh..I didn't know you were that fat." Um, yes I was..thanks.

Log it as strength training under cardio.
-
Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire..soooo fun!
-
What about adding more beans into your diet? You can make bean burritos; they'll keep you full and come in way under the 400 calorie ones at Taco Bell.
-
It doesn't guarantee you'll gain weight. It (as all hormonal birth controls) makes it easier to gain, but to say it guarantees it is simply untrue.
-
Are you a runner? If so, run. If not, but you want to be, c25k is a good program. If you prefer a DVD and are a beginner, Turbo Jam is really good and fun. (If you're more advanced, Turbo Fire.) A lot of people like 30 Day Shred (30DS)..it's effective, but I get bored doing the same thing everyday. The biggest things to…

My calories were pretty consistant through all three levels.

I didn't get in any miles this week at all. It's kind of pathetic. Great job on 19! I finally broke my plateau and lost a pound this week; I just hope it continues.
-
I think in the tips section on the menu it says to workout 5 or 6 days a week (I can't check because a friend is borrowing mine currently), but I'm almost positive I remember seeing that. I did it in 32 days, taking 2 off because I was sick, and managed to make it out in one piece. I'm not a huge fan of her videos, though.

The hybrid schedule is ChaLEAN Extreme and TurboFire. If you're a beginner, it might be a little intense..I was asking the person who mentioned they were doing CLX and supplementing with TF. It's a good program for anyone, though, provided you're up for a big challenge (if you're not used to intense cardio).
-
Have you tried the hybrid schedule? I love it.

My mom bought Sensa and two weeks later was diagnosed with diverticulitis. Not saying they're related, but no thanks. She also bought the Ab Circle Pro. She seems to believe that doing it for 3 minutes a day 3 times a week is all you need to get in shape. Well, that and Sensa, of course.
-
Definitely both. They're equally important. 30 mins of strength followed by 30 mins of cardio is the best way to do it, according to some recent studies.
-
Apparently there's a procedure where they can freeze your fat cells. You can lose like 5 pounds in the course of 1-2 months. Costs $700. Also, the hospitals here advertise WLS. Beyond that, as far as gimmicks go, Sensa cracks me up, Shake Weight, Lipozene, and this list here…

It took 40 pounds for anyone to say anything to me about looking different. It took the same amount for me to get into a smaller pair of jeans. Don't sweat it. You're on a good path regardless of whether or not anyone takes notice. They will eventually. If you've mostly just been changing your eating habits, you will…
-
I did them both at the same time. I did RI30 in the morning and c25k in the evening (only because it was summer and it was too hot any other time). Worked for me just fine. I didn't feel too tired or sore or anything.

I only have his strength one, but it's good. He definitely kicks your butt.
