  • Did the Wii for 56 minutes today! Yay! I have done the body test every day this week and at least ten minutes of yoga every day this weeks. I can't believe how much stronger I feel from just that! Yesterday, I added on running and the bike trail thing and some strength. Feels good!
  • Thanks for the encouragement everyone. It's been a few days since I tossed all that stuff and I am so glad. I am not going out to buy more, so it's forcing me to get busy and do other things besides eat at night! Good luck to everyone else too!
  • I did the Wii Fit yoga yesterday and the running for 25 minutes. I am just getting over a yucky cold, so it felt good to get moving again! In a few minutes, I will be back on it. I love it and the time goes by so fast when I'm on it!
  • My daughter is lactose intolerant. We paid thousands of dollars in medical tests and took her to specialists before she finally took a simple test and we found out she was lactose intolerant. They had her drink some stuff that had lactose in it. When they called with the results they said her symptoms didn't show up until…
  • This is a great idea. I am going to commit to doing 30 mins minimum cardio daily, 15 yoga, and strength 15 twice a week. I'm excited!
  • It's one of those things that I resist so much- but I feel amazing after even just fifteen minutes. It just feels like it clears your head and gives you all this energy. Like things you didn't think were possible are possible again. Good luck getting rid of th stuff that's weighing you down, both in your homes and on your…
  • Wow! Lot's of discussion on this topic! It helps to know others are in the same boat. My challenge with eating the lower calorie stuff is that I don't like to eat anything with preservatives. I have not been able to find a low calorie or frozen yogurt that doesn't have gaur gum and carageenan and diglycerides in it. I'm…
  • Yes, the Wiis are hard to find. I don't know why the stores don't stock more of them! I called around to a bunch of stores and my husband had to drive an hour to get one at the only store that had one- Costco. He got the Wii Fit at Target. It was worth the scavenger hunt! I did not know you can run while watching regular…
  • I guess it just shows that so much of why we overeat is boredom and frustration. I'm going to keep up the de-cluttering till I get to my goal weight...
  • So funny! Doesn't it make you feel like a kid again? My kids are playing it downstairs now and I can hear them laughing as they compete against each other. Lots better than sitting on the couch or watching tv! I limit their "media" time though and make them go play outside so they get fresh air and don't become addicted to…
  • I never heard that iron pills are bad for you. I have low iron, as a lot of women do. Before I found out it was low, I was tired a lot. Now, I'm actually on a prescription iron because my levels were still too low with the over-the-counter iron. My doctor said most menstruating women have low iron stores but don't know it.
  • I just saw it the other night and was shocked at what I saw. I loved the ending though. It was empowering how it pointed out that we consumers might think we don't have power-but we do. What we buy is our vote!! I am sick and tired of companies taking advantage of people's trust. I refuse to buy the fake food out there…
  • I did my yoga and it was a little challenging with my broken hand. I will have to experiment a little more. Can't exactly do the downward dog or cobra in the shape I'm in now. I'm proud of myself for giving it my best shot though! It's a huge boost to know I accomplished something...even with this injury and feeling like I…
  • I promise to do Yoga today and I will report back when I do.
  • oooh. I want to try the stuff in liter bottles too. To answer the question about where to find it-Yes, it's usually in the aisle with the soda but if you can't find that brand, I'm sure flavored seltzer water would work pretty well!
  • Ang8178- Yes. I would love to make this a regular yoga group where we check in daily or a few times a week and talk about our progress. This will help me be accountable too-because I can sometimes be gung-ho at first and then lose focus. marywilldiet-I agree that yoga doesn't burn too many calories (my fitness tracker says…

My dad has had three heart attacks and now, he is finally learning to take better care of himself. He does water aerobic and just joined a 12 week exercise start-up program at his gym. He…

  • fbref9-Good point! I hear what you are saying. When I first started I realized I was going way over too, and I rarely do that anymore. Being mindful is so much better than being rigid + perfectionist.
  • yes.this is a good idea to plan ahead. I am doing this a lot more now. I am not a good judge of calories, so I bomb if I don't plan.
  • Thank You everyone! I feel a huge boost from all the cheering on. My biggest challenge now is trying to find a workout that works for me, and that doesn't get my splint wet or sweaty. I was all set to go on a nice long walk to the park yesterday, but it was raining. I was dissapointed. So, today I am going to do yoga and…

  • I followed lulabellewoowoo's advice and joined the No Late Night Snackin group. Thanks! I think I'm going to have to retrain my husband or just not be able to spend time with him at night. I never fails that it will be 9:30pm and he'll say "Gosh, I'm hungry again." Then, next thing you know the aroma of oven baked pizza…
