My general advice is always to go enjoy yourself and get back to it when you return home. However, if you feel this will be a huge barrier for you, I suggest to stay as active as you can (without missing awesome parts of the vacation with your family) and eat smaller portions of the meals. Do your best. Enjoy the trip.

It has only been a week. How did you come up with the calorie goal of 1100-1200? and how do you know your deficit was 6968?

With limited information, we can only provide limited answers. OP: I suggest you read all of the links provided for you in this thread. There is a reason they are posted multiple times per day in multiple threads. (Excellent information that gives an excellent starting point.)

Patience. It should be noted that you only have 16 pounds to lose (if your ticker is correct), which is going to be a slower go versus someone who has more weight to lose. Go to the getting started section of the forum and read the first two stickies. (the ones with the red pin next to them)

I second getting fitted for a proper pair of shoes from a running store. Once you know which type of shoe works best for you, you can always explore different places to purchase your shoes. You can't spot reduce. You can maximize your results by eating at a deficit (eating all types of foods) and finding exercise you enjoy.

You should also consider placement for later in life, in case you want to have kids.

Um. You are going to open the door to gain weight if you get pregnant. I would suggest staying on the pill, get a food scale and start logging accurately for a significant period of time.

:huh: The band is a post op thing to help with the healing process. If you want to wear it, go for it, but it is not going to make much difference in your stomach. If you want to retain the muscle you already have, you should start strength training now and not wait until the 50 pound mark.

I can almost guarantee you were not eating below 2000 calories per day. If you continue on 1400 per day, you are setting yourself up for difficulties down the road. Don't make this harder then it needs to be for yourself. Read the link provided for you up thread and read all of the links in it.

If I am sick and throwing up, the last thing I am worried about is eating back my calories and wondering how long it takes for my body to absorb food.

There are many people on the forums that have already learned the hard way, which is why they pass along information. Why ignore it and set somebody up to fail? Honesty is a pretty cool thing and the OP now doesn't have to learn the hard way. eta: it can also help people who lurk around the forums.

Sugar is sugar. Eat the fruit. The only thing that will be bad for weight loss…. is a calorie surplus.
