Turkey Burgers, Butternut Squash and Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Almonds.

I love whey protein. What about cottage cheese or eggs?

5:00 alarm, 5:05 dressed, 5:10 coffee, 5:20 workout This has been my routine for about a year now. I like it. It's my quiet time from the kids. The trick is for your workout to be something that you really like doing so you don't dread getting up. Right now I am doing a 12-week lifting program and I know that if I miss a…

I would make it a priority to first buy all the fruit/vegetables that your local supermarket has on sale. Then I would go for chicken or turkey, eggs, low-fat milk, greek yogurt, a few nuts or a nut butter and then the grains/cereals that you like. Or create a menu for the week and calculate how much it will cost to make…

This is so timely. For years and years I hated the stuff - mostly the texture. But, like I do with my kids, I kept making myself try it. Finally, this year I actually like it! Not sure what changed.... ?!?!?!

Day 29 of Jamie Eason's LiveFit program, which was weights for the Back Cathe Friedrich's XTRAIN Hard Strikes DVD and a 30 min leisurely walk at lunch time. Not bad.

I am addicted to sugar, and have not been able to find a good way to deal with that addiction - it is a work in progress. In the past I was able to give up cigarettes, alcohol, and caffeine, but sugar is a whole different story.

A homemade salad (greens, onions, cucs, feta, balsamic, red pepper) topped with salmon (boneless/skinless pouch), and a snack size Cliff builders bar.

They are on the pricey side, but all the ones I've tasted from the company "It's about time" are awesome! I think the company is based in Canada, so I order them online. Right now I have the Mocha Mint and Strawberry - they are so yummy.

MFP sets your protein intake low - you can adjust as needed. 1 gram of protein per 1 pound of body weight is not uncommon (e.g. if you are 140 lbs, it's okay to eat ~ 140 grams of protein a day). More if you are weight lifting.

I have similar issues with the same HRM that is under a year old. I sent it in for servicing (free 2-year warranty) and there was nothing wrong with the watch or transmitter, so they just replaced the strap for me. I still have this issue every once in a while. Make sure the electrode area is very wet, strap is tight,…

Lately I've been adding lime juice and stevia to some of my water during the day - it's very yummy - you just have to find the right combination depending on how tart you like it.

Agree completely. I am definitely addicted to sugar - and I'm better off having none rather than just a little. A little sugar sets off so many insatiable cravings - it's just not worth it.
-
I make all the Jamie Eason protein bars as well - the pumpkin and chocolate are my favorites. The trick is to NOT overmix or the result will be a little tough.

I'm dealing with the same issue, but have been doing rather well for the last month or so. I've made an effort to really cut out all processed sugar and only eat sugar from fruit and vegetables. I've read lots of books about sugar addiction to understand how it was controlling my body. I started taking L-glutamine…

All of these things still have loads of sugar - Naked Juice, vanilla yogurt, granola, cliff-bar. Can you try sugar alternatives? No juice, plain yogurt, homemade protein bars with very little to no sugar etc. And fill up on tons of vegetables and protein.

I use half unsweetened almond milk and half water. The almond milk gives it a little bit of a creamier texture.

My experience: I initially bought a Polar FT7 which I loved, but after a year or so it stopped working and it is currently in for servicing (they have a 2 year warranty). In the meantime I bought a Timex, and after wearing it just once I am returning it because 1. it calculates 1.5 to 2 times more calories burned than the…

Exactly this for me too! I always had a hard time running because of shin splints until I started running on the balls of my feet. Now they don't bother me at all!

I've had to deal with similar cravings - actually more of an addiction - to sugar. I really like the book "Sugar Addict's Total Recovery Program", because it explains the biochemistry of how our bodies get addicted to sugar and what to do about it. I am still trying to "recover". Just recently I was able to cut out most…

I am usually very good about getting in lots of vegetables during the day, but just this year I made a commitment to always make at least 2 types of vegetables with dinner. This not only makes me eat less of the other stuff, but it also introduces my 2 kids to lots more veggies and they always have an option if they don't…

Guacamole!

Absolutely love the stuff!

I drink unsweetened almond milk because it does not contain sugar like regular milk.

I have concrete as well. I workout to DVDs (step, kickboxing, aerobics etc) or do plyometrics and have no problem with the concrete. I used to workout on laminate and found this too slippery. My treadmill is on a carpet with rubber underneath.

I am new to paleo and would love to see some other diaries for ideas. Anyone can add me. Thanks!

I actually just had fish in the microwave at work for lunch today! It might bother some people, but the smell (if any) goes away in a matter of minutes. They can suck it up and deal with it.

As many Vegetables as my family can eat until my next grocery stop Plain Greek Yogurt Eggs Berries Unsweetened Almond Milk Raw Nuts Ground Turkey Fish Feta Cheese

I have tried about 7 or 8 different whey protein isolate powders. I have to say that the Mocha Mint from "It's About Time" is by FAR my favorite!

I can definitely relate. I have a 2 and 4 year old and I work full time. I workout in the mornings before anyone else is up and I am determined to eat clean and teach my kids how to eat well too! Feel free to add me if you want!
