Thank you for your thoughts! Seeing it as the monthly total I will be logging them every day.

Curious...who calculates the calories for every item on every restaurant menu? Are there labs all over the country?
-
Absolutely fantastic! Your loss really shows also. Good luck with the next 20!

How true is your post!!! I scan the boards and internet looking for validation that I am following the best possible weight loss/exercise plan. I think I will just keep "moving". B)

You give me some hope for improvement, thank you! My left hip and knee surgeries were less then successful. The only way a new surgeon could somewhat repair the huge deficit was to replace my right hip. I walk and stretch and use a gazelle daily. But I become so discouraged because after sitting for 15 minutes my body…

Wow! I needed to hear this. If I ever doubt my efforts again, I'll revisit this post! Thank you very much!

Exactly where my brain is this morning. Thank you for reminding me there is so much more to this.

Lol. I am counting on your advice. Because it does feel like it is killing me. I'm up and at 'em again! Thanks!

Thank you for all your responses! I have looked at my Fitbit goals as mostly a weight loss tool. Probably because that is what my Fitbit dashboard is geared toward. I most definitely want to be healthier. I've already had 2 hip and one knee replacement. I look forward to the day when the soreness eases up.

If I eat a 1400 calorie diet and burn an additional 500 calories through exercise I believe my total deficit would be 900 calories that day. Am I thinking staright about that?

In addition to your longer walk try to get up and walk every hour. 250 steps minimum.

Grab four 1 lb bags of flour and carry them around the house for awhile. You'll feel better then! Good work and smile, darn it!

When I have bread in the pantry, I have a hard time controlling how much I eat. It is one of my downfalls. At restaurants also. One time I ordered only garlic bread as my whole meal . I enjoyed every bite!

I haven't had any problems losing. I can't remember if I had an increase in weight or appetite at first, its been a few years.

Fantastic! B)

You have rocked the first 2 months!!! I need to ask Y :) U for some tips. Keep on going!

Whatever is in a Big Mac. One of those and I'm full for the rest of the day! :p

I weigh every day. It is very helpful to see the patterns of my weight loss. I seem to always have a stretch of 5-6 days of no loss followed by a whoosh each month. If I didn't track and learn that this is how my body responds, I would be fretting during those 5 days. I often wonder how those who weigh once a week or once…

I have no "science" to back this up, but I think every now and then our bodies send out hunger signals. The brain would really like to get back to your original set point. Then its a game of tug of war. When I am doing all the right things and I feel like this....I just keep on until it goes away. And it will go away. :D

I climbed my 10 flights of steps before coffee.

I'm waving from the dock!! Alas, I missed the boat. Have a fun trip and remember to pick me up in April please!

I have to look for this in the grocery store! :)

The words "intermittent fasting" can sound faddish or unhealthy to some folks. It really is neither. Some people feel great eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day or eating a huge breakfast or not eating after 7pm. I feel great eating between 6pm-10pm. Because I have found a way to stay within my calories and also…

It is really easy to eat 3500 calories in a day. But once those calories are in your body you are kinda screwed. lol Filling up your gas tank takes 5 minutes but burning that gas takes days.
-
Intermittent fasting is not a diet. It is a way to control hunger for me. It is still about CICO. IF can be personalized to your time schedule, switched up and adjusted as needed. I really like to eat all my calories late afternoon and evenings. It is not for everyone but for me it works great! I hope you find it works for…

This is the tricky part. You may find that the exercise calories you are given may be a bit exaggerated. I slowly added in those additional calories until my weight loss showed a nice steady loss.

I spent way too much time focusing on the time it would take to lose so much weight. It was depressing and self defeating. Now I try to look at each day of staying on task as a victory and every 1/4 pound lost as a reason to celebrate.

Fight! fight! fight! The worst thing you can do is let 5 days turn into 50. You are doing a fantastic job...230 days! And I think the best thing you can do is get on that scale and face the fear. I bet it isn't that big of a set back. :)

I sync. I love the weekly fitbit email. It has all my calorie and activity and weight loss info for the week. I'm either doing great or I can tweak accordingly. Does anyone else get this?
