My weight on the Wii is actually higher- so who knows? I trust my regular and the dr's scale over it though...

I appreciate people dropping some knowledge on us from time to time- but I just want to go on record and say there are a lot of factors to a balanced diet, and there is nothing wrong with a low two digit body fat percentage- ( double digits can be healthy). I personally need a lot of fiber to live my life right, and I…

I have also found that I have to make more trips since I've changed the way I eat. Since I eat nearly exclusively fresh and perishable foods- I have to buy them more frequently. I usually stick to the outer aisles except for the organic/vegetarian section where I pick up veggie burgers and tofu, yogurt and silk, and then…

did you input your weight on the bike? If not, it's likely not factoring that in- and a person's size can alter how many calories they burn doing an activity...

I haven't read everypne's post, so maybe this is a repeat- but if you have upped your exercise it's possible the larger number on the scale reflects some muscle you have put on instead of fat- perhaps all your hard work is working at keeping you healthy and fit and the scale is reflecting it in a confusing way. I…

Louisville is fabulous- some smart places to dine are (but some are a little further away): TGI Fridays has some lower calorie shrimp dishes- they are in 4th Street Live- walking distance from the hotel. Jason's Deli- a bit of a drive, but an excellent salad bar stocked with many organic ingredients. Joe's Crab Shack is…

Thanks Ladies. That makes sense. I'm not really missing out on anything according to MFP, so why buy something extra? I like the logic.

Super Job!

you need to have a direct convo with him about what you saw, what you think, and what you need from him now. See how he responds. A lot seems off here, but you can never expect a person to mind read- you have to communicate.

super job!!

We are "free" everyday. I am not a slave to this "diet" - instead I have learned to make healthier choices. I think the language makes a diference. (I don't really like her, but I think Jillian Michaels once said something like 'There are no Cheat days- this is not a game, it is your life, you aren't cheating.' That being…

Here's a link to a helpful convo from this morning: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/86361-question-about-fruit-and-sugar?hl=fruit+sugar#posts-1190636 HTH.

It could happen, but is not likely. That would be more than a 3 pound per week loss. It might be possible if you had a great great deal of weight to lose (in the 100's) but if not, I would start shopping.

Sometimes a little healthy fat- like some nuts or nutbutters can do the trick. Peanuts are relatively healthy, but are higher in calories and healthy fats.

Congrats! I don't really believe in jinxing, but instead of getting rid of my clothes all together, I have given some away and others I have stored away at my mom's house.

I'm so sorry. Sounds like you really loved her. :flowerforyou:

I eat the same thing for breakfast every single morning- 1/2 cup quick oats, 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract and 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of brown sugar. It has some sugar, but it is really low compared to most breakfast cereals. Lots of these recipes sound really really yummy though.

The ones in the restaurants where I get 'em usually have cinnamon, so I've started just putting them in a bag with some olive oil (maybe 1/2 tsp) and some cinnamon (a shake or two from the container), and pop them in the oven. I haven't gotten mine super crispy, but they get close enough for me to be satisfied.

Rache- you could always go "pescatarian" and eat only seafood- unless you are eating fried stuff that may be a pretty healthy choice- most seafood is considered pretty lean (if not fried, of course!) Just a thought. Good Luck.

Oh I know!!! People forget that we are still the same people we were when we weighed more- if they thought about that fact, they wouldn't say some of the dumb things they do. I've started getting the "how are you doing it?" And I tell them, watch what I eat, keep a food diary and I have taken up running. Then I've had them…

Oh I am so so sorry. *Hugs* We are glad to have you back, and I hope that you will reach out to us as you need us. We are all here! :flowerforyou:

I think that with things like fiber, protein and vitamins/minerals- in general "too much" is not a bad thing- but you just want to make sure that you get enough. You mentioned that sometimes you are below your Protein. I would be more worried about hitting that protein mark than I would be going over my fiber. Good Luck.

I just steam mine on the stove with one of those veggie steamer basket things- I add salt/pepper when it's done and it's pretty darn tasty- But I like asparagus a great deal.

Chris, 36 pounds is a small child, a medium sized dog and like 3 bowling balls. That is a SUPER accomplishment. You totally ROCK!! I congratulate you on that accomplishment, but (and though I don't even know you)- I really am proud of you more for your change in mindset- all the things you have learned, your re-commitment…

Holy Moley!!! :noway: You ROCK! You look so healthy and happy  . Congrats!!!

I like Mark Bittman too- I read alot of his articles- esp. the ones in Runner's World. I also like Marion's Nestle's What to Eat and Food Inc. is a movie I've seen waaay too many times, considering it is a documentary. It is interesting to start thinking where our food comes from, eh?

thanks for the rainbows. I needed them. :flowerforyou:

yowza. That's tiny! I know it doesn't make you feel better but I had a similar experience over the phone once upon a time with Victoria Secret's. They didn't carry my band size in anything frilly or sexy. I was given a gift card for my bridal shower and couldn't use it. When I complained I was told "Most girls with large…

Ok- dorky suggestion, but they make lights that help with SAD. You can pretty much google it and find some. Seriously, put one of those puppies at your desk and it might just pick you up a smidge.
