I had lost over 20 pounds and kept it off for a year, and then I recently gained back 7 or 8 when I stopped paying attention. My NSV is that I started journaling again.

False. My friends liked them though! TNP has been on MFP for more than a year.

I've got that problem too. Loud, irregular snores--plus it takes me longer to fall asleep anyway--are a bad combination! Here are some things that have helped. 1. Flonase! I got him to take it. Makes a big difference, especially with volume. (Cutting out dairy helped too, but he couldn't keep it up, so mild allergy maybe?)…

True. A favorite comfort food combo of mine is elbow noodles with cottage cheese…and ketchup. Now I try to to use the higher protein chickpea or lentil pasta noodles. :) The Next Person enjoys the women’s basketball March Madness tournament. (I do!)

@shann55437 apologies I am just seeing this now. It is basically a meditative centering exercise. I found this interesting piece written about it: https://adamwestbrook.substack.com/p/62-spirals I like that you can do it anywhere! You can also Google “Lynda Barry” and journaling or curriculum, she has some interesting…

Maybe switch the order of things and take singulair in the morning!
-
In the am I take singulair and Zyrtec. Nighttime, nasonex. Morning and night, a steroid inhaler. Most of the time that is enough. In very high allergy season sometimes I add Benadryl at night. Oh, and I am taking allergy shots. I haven’t noticed it affecting my sleep.

Can you adjust when you take the Adderall?
-
Make sure you are accounting for that exercise! Moving around all day counts! Either by adjusting your activity level (eg move from lightly active to active) or add extra—quality—calories on the days you are working.
-
True—although « good » is relative. TNP got snow last night. (We did. Heavy, drag the trees down type snow.)
-
After a couple of years here I finally decided to try the 30 day trial for the premium version. I appreciate the no ads piece of premium, so I am keeping it.

At my son’s college graduation one of the presenters said something I really liked and I wrote it down: « Stay strong Stay open to the world You are not alone. » I think the advice about how to talk to your therapist (above) is really good and I would say—stay open to the world—to all you are learning through this journey.…

Been there! Things that help me: breathing. Yoga (don’t love doing it but feel much calmer after). Art journaling. (Lynda Barry suggests when you are struggling or want to center yourself, to draw tight spirals, slowly, on a page. It actually has helped me.). Writing things down (and maybe then throwing the paper away).…

Welcome!

+1 to getting a food scale. It really helps calibrate portion sizes. I keep mine on grams rather than ounces.
-
I am very salt sensitive, and also stress sensitive. Stress matters! That’s what I learned getting my borderline HTN back into normal range. Your mileage may vary.
-
False, although it’s a good idea and maybe I will in the future! TNP likes to make art.

Just a couple more ideas— If you are eating fast food on your « cheat » days, you can usually find the nutritional info online, so log that chick fil a sandwich. If you are logging carrot cake, and don’t know the amount, look at several entries. Choose one in the middle or maybe you find the one you actually have (eg…

Great advice in this thread! Spring is coming and that generally means fewer sick family members and more sun. I very much agree with trying to prioritize one or two things and sleep is a good one! Getting outside every day could be a good second. (I also find that helps me sleep!) And you are making progress so try to…

False. TNP rides an e-bike.
-
Just want to point out, all carbs are not equal. You could eat straight sugar or have a potato or eat fruit or have whole wheat bread...
-
False! Very luckily. Although my dad did get to commute by train when he had a long commute. TNP celebrates Valentines Day.
-
That’s a good idea. Sometimes it does take a specialist. I also had some success (different problem) with acupuncture and IDK if that could help.
-
Everyone else has the same concerns as you. The sauna at the Y I go to has lower light and honestly most ppl seem to be focused on themselves. Try and tune everyone else out!
-
This is hysterical. Thank you for the laugh.
-
True. They’re gross. TNP lives where it snows frequently in the winter.
-
False. Luckily! TNP owns, or would like to get, an electric vehicle.

Great suggestions above. There’s always Diet Coke or ginger ale. Also, some bars have nonalcoholic beer.
