As someone who's always had a big appetite, struggling to eat is very alien to me. Lol But as others have said, it may just be hormonal changes and maybe a bit mental too (i.e the fear of eating more). Just try eating more calorific foods like Nuts for example......they'll feel like more like a snack but are pretty high…

Just click on their username and if their diary is open, you will see "view diary". I don't have the best eating habits myself sometimes, so have a little peek at other peoples' diaries all the time. ;)

Why not check out other forum users "open food diaries", to give you some ideas of what to eat?

Well after a big run or heavy session of Cardio, i wouldn't be eating just a Banana! Lol I normally have a big bowl of Tuna Pasta with Veg (around 450 cals worth) and that satisfies me for a good few hours after. Having sugary cereal isn't ideal in that situation - but that's just MY opinion.
-
I normally cook the same thing for me and my partner BUT he doesn't eat Fish (which can be annoying). So occasionally i'll have to cook a separate dinner or have my fish meal at lunchtime.
-
Yep, this^^.

Thanks guys,...some great ideas here!

I agree with this^^. There are certain Burgers that have a good amount of Protein in them. Plus, there are days when you just want a day off from cooking from scratch. There's no harm in eating fast food occasionally.
-
The other 3 days i weight train w/some Cardio and the 4th day i have a rest.

When i first started Running, i couldn't even run for 90 seconds straight! Then i realised i was running too fast. I slowed down my pace a lot, watched a few youtube video's on how to breathe properly and now i'm running for 9-10 mins without stopping. I've still got a way to go before reaching 5K, but i was just like you…

I normally remove just the top bun when i have McDonalds Burgers (or any other Burger) as i think the Bread can be a bit "too much". I think the Quarterpounder w/cheese is their most decent Burger actually and it is pretty filling. I normally do have fries with it though.

I agree with what everyone else has said......it's just water weight. I wouldn't weigh yourself too often either.
-
Very interesting video! ^^

A Gym that sells Pizza??? Wow. Lol
-
No clothes or just underwear, first thing in the morning (after going to the toilet). I'm maintaining, so weigh every 2 weeks.....but once a week when i was losing.
-
Oh no! That IS with some exercise yes? The thing is, you shouldn't be afraid to gain a pound or so.....especially if it's to find out what your true TDEE is. I wouldn't think you would gain that much anyway, jumping from 1370 to 1500. I would've been p'eed off if i was eating 1900 only to fnd out waaay down the line that i…
-
How do you know you can't eat more than 1370 without gaining weight? Maybe your maintenance calories/TDEE is 1500 or maybe 1600. Initially, i thought my TDEE was 1900, then i started eating around 2000-2100 cals (just to test it out). Still stayed the same weight. Try this calculator and see what it gives you.....out of…

As the others have said, talk to a Therapist. Also, start doing some Exercise,.....it works wonders, especially when i'm having a bad day.
-
I don't know how effective it is, but someone posted this link to a Dumbbell workout recently. http://www.building-muscle101.com/dumbbell_workout_beginner.html

Welcome to maintenance. If i didn't do the exercise i do - at 49 yrs old and 5,3" (just found out i've shrunk an inch :# ), there's no way i could eat the amount i eat now! And Food IS very important to me. Have you thought of doing some kind of exercise or activity you'll enjoy [and most importantly, stick with]. Maybe…
-
Yep, this^^. OP, if you start to do more exercise, you will be able to eat more than 1370 cals. How do you cope? Lol I was struggling when i was on 1600 cals! Why not find out what your TDEE is (maintenance cals including exercise) here: http://www.sailrabbit.com/bmr/

Some Health "Experts" think consuming a lot of Sugar leads to certain Illnesses like Cancer etc. Well, my Partner's Grandfather was 86 when he passed away (natural causes) and he practically lived on Chocolate and Sweets (Candy) and was hardly ever sick. Neither was he overweight. I eat some sort of Chocolate or Sweet…

I would say once a month.

As WBB55 said above, maybe your daily calories are set too low. Alternatively, maybe try have bigger main Meals (fill up your plate with Extra Veg or Salad) - so you won't have to snack as much.
-
I understand where you're coming from.....i need to log or i'll just mess up. Wouldn't class myself as "normal", but i eat just about anything (as long as it fits my maintenance calories). I eat Breakfast, Lunch, another small Lunch ;) , Dinner and normally have a couple of snacks as well (could be Almonds & an Apple,…

I think she's still eating at a deficit but not losing and thinking of switching to maintenance. As BBQsauce said OP, maybe deduct 100 or so calories from what your maintenance calories are - eat that and see what happens.
-
Once you get to your goal weight OP, just stick to your maintenance calories (along with logging your food), do some kind of exercise at least 3 times a week and you should be fine. I would definitely gain weight eating at my maintenance calories i'm on now and not doing any exercise.
-
Exactly this^^. Lol I eat loads of sugary foods, always have done and i've never been obese.
-
Same here! (although i maintain at around 2000). I really don't know how most of you "struggle" with eating more food! As soon as i got to goal weight i upped my calories immediately. Lol But as others have said OP, you'll get used to it. If you're more of a clean eater, try eating more Nuts (which are very calorific).
