Reducing your body fat% will help but also make sure you build muscle! I believe it's something to do with the fascia attaching to muscle reducing the appearance of cellulite with bigger muscles. I'm inclined to believe it because I often see skinny-fat girls with cellulite, but rarely on athletes, even casual athletes.

I have tattoos - I always get asked if they are new because the colouring is very strong. So it's worth going to a good artist compared to one who'll leave you with something horrible and faded. Detailed designs / small lines look worse with weight changes and sagging with age.

A cheat day would be a day where I went over my cal allowance and didn't attempt to increase my exercise to compensate. I've gone over my cals but not by much for three of the past 29 days (d.t. my exams on one day which meant I couldn't make the gym, then the resulting hangover which had me vomiting and in no state for…

I don't really drink unless I'm at an event (i.e. I'm quite happy to not drink and then drink rather a lot on special occasions); I try to limit to vodka/soda/lime, but hell yeah I still drink.

Welcome! I'm a dreadful runner unless it's as part of a sport/game or is in intervals/racing... so I'd also love to know! I'm finishing off a 30 day gym challenge and will be doing the Couch to 5K program next - have you looked at that? It seems very popular.

Hey I didn't know you could get sports bras that you could put your hrm into! Sweet! :-D (Edited because I was worried my enthusiasm sounded like sarcasm)

Welcome :)

There are a lot of athletes in my bikram class who joined to avoid further injury in their sporting careers; I'd recommend it to help strengthen joints etc. for HIIT out of yoga.

I would call myself curvy because my body is very "in and out". Pre-stepping up my fitness, my bust was 100 cm, my waist 68 cm and my hips 100 cm. My thighs narrow above my knees and my calves widen below my knees, and then into small ankles. Does that make sense? Mesomorphic / hourglass. I agree completely that anyone…

I get a scale but I don't use it often... You could get a measuring tape?

Looking good!

I eat back my exercise calories, and when I exercise heaps, between all the exercising and healthy eating thereafter, I don't think I have the time to binge :-)

At the moment I'm using 100% Bulk Nutrients Whey Protein Isolate. Bought it as part of a beginners deal, but I completely forgot about WPI (the acronym they use) being whey, and I'm lactose intolerant. Not dramatically so, luckily. Have a protein shake or two?

Also, warmth and hydration. (Stretching thoroughly first should help with the first one)

I'm on 1200 cal, I burn 1000 a day with exercise currently and I'm eating nearly all of my calories back. Sometimes I don't (due to time or whatever), and I feel the next day's exercise isn't as good as when I do.

I'm really keen to do it! I'm worried that I don't have the self-discipline to follow it through yet so I'm working on building in 90mins exercise at the gym into my day everyday first for a few months, then I'll work towards cutting down from structured exercise to including convict conditioning, c25k, etc - self-driven…

All females are pregnant until proven otherwise, and anyone overweight or underweight has diabetes until proven otherwise.

Just a side note - unfortunately with the whole "sue everybody about everything" culture, doctors often can't apologise even when they'd like to, such as something like this which is a small, easily made mistake, and one that bears no huge harm beyond a week of anxiety, for fear of huge law suits that could derail or…

Vodka, soda-water and lime is my go-to!

It's very protein heavy, but I have a 30 g scoop of WPI, 285 ml of milk, then either some variety of fruit (banana, etc) and/or eggs, depending on what protein and cholesterol I'm likely to be eating the rest of the day.

I only weigh myself every couple of weeks, and I use the weight then - even if the weight loss hasn't quite stuck, it probably will in a day or so and either way by the time I weigh myself again, I'll probably have lost more.
-
I've been doing bikram daily (and no other exercise beyond walking every couple of days if I've gone over calories) and I've definitely lost fat.

StrongLifts 5x5 is popular, as is StartingStrength or Beast Skills.

Abdominal aorta? It runs down your stomach more or less just left of the belly-button. Lie down and put your right hand palm down on your stomach, lining up your little finger tip with the "start" of your belly-button. Forget about your thumb for now, but if your hand is the right way it should be pointing vaguely up to…
