Why is that odd? Many days I eat zero fruit, I prefer vegetables. Many good suggestions for protein above. I generally have meat at every meal so that gets my numbers up. Greek yogurt, protein powder, cottage cheese are diet mainstays as well.

If this is more about the cholesterol than digestive help, soluble fiber is what you need to make sure you're getting enough of so check the labels for that. My go-to foods are oatmeal (I know, not your preference), Brussels sprouts, beans (black & limas are my favorite), sweet potatoes, flax seed. Check online for highest…

Are the *** fill in the blanks? 1. Hungry 2. Put your elbows on the table 3. Hmmmm, idk this one 4. Base?

Traditional. Not much into group classes, I want to put my headphones on & be left alone with the weights.

Have you asked him if that would be fun for him? Would he want to do your workouts? If he's not interested then you need to just do you and maybe by your example he may eventually join in. Just ask him. My husband has absolutely no interest whatsoever fitness-wise in doing what I do when I do it. And that's ok, we have…

What are your stats? Are you weighing & measuring your intake properly? What is your activity level & how are you sure your burned calories are accurate? Have you used calculators to figure your caloric needs?

Wow, really? Is there a medical reason for that or are you under doctors instruction? I'm not being snarky, I'm genuinely curious as to why a grown male that is weight training would eat so little? I'm 43, 130 lbs 5'4 and eat 1700-1800 cals/day (I run & lift weights 3x/wk). I mean it may be easy for you, but why would you…

I absolutely disagree with this. There is no reason whatsoever that someone who is overweight should not lift as they are losing weight. ***EDITED TO ADD I am so glad that my trainer (actual, real, educated, experienced, knowledgable) didn't put me in the fat corner and tell me not to touch the weights until my "weight was…

But when I was 130 lbs overweight I wasn't following the food pyramid. I was eating excessive amounts of all foods. Who really has gotten obese by following the food pyramid & its portion recommendations? Since you're interested in scientific research and data, Alan Aragon is exceptional. I also like Brad Schoenfeld, Eric…

It would mine! Now I want to get a hula hoop, that sounds fun! Just yesterday I was thinking, "we (as in my family) don't *play* enough anymore, like we did when the kids were kids." We get our workouts/runs/soccer practices in, but we don't just get out there and have FUN. Hmmm, I may rethink some things around here.... I…

Mmm-hmmm, right on. Cook them down with some ham & onions, yessir.

Don't mind at all - non diabetic, I didn't start having issues until well after I lost my weight. My glucose tends to drop (when it does) in the afternoon/evenings so I've gotten used to eating app 250-300 cals every 2-3 hours. This seems to really have helped tremendously. I also make sure I schedule one of my meals right…

If you deal with hypoglycemia (I do as well) then what's normal for others shouldn't matter to you. Meal timing makes all the difference in the world to keep blood glucose levels even - do you regularly check your blood glucose? When you're feeling that way, what are your readings? You should still eat in a caloric deficit…

The fact that I'm off this weekend & spending tomorrow with hubby at the Food Festival uptown!

Ah, gotcha - I see now & can understand your concern. That's a scary low amount to possibly consider as maintenance calories! I do agree with above posts regarding giving more time to evaluate your plans effectiveness. FWIW I've been hovering around the same calorie intake for a few months now and am just now seeing the…

You already weigh so little? How much are you trying to lose and at what rate are you trying to lose it? And a doctor approved that few calories? I'm just trying to wrap my head around this, it's not making logical sense to me.
-
Aw naw you di-int! I so agree with the Beatles, Beyoncé & Springsteen.

Mmmmmmm, foxglove.

Are you male or female? Weight & height? How are you measuring your calorie burns? Are you using a food scale to more accurately measure your intake? Are you using accurate entries to log your food (are you logging)?

18 miles in under a year!! That's amazing! There is hope for me then - I've stopped & started c25k over and over the past few years and I know my lack of completion is mostly a mental game I'm playing with myself. "I can't go further", "I'm too old for this (I'm only 42, lol), "I'm just not a runner".....but I want to be,…

That's great! Deadlifts are one of my favorites. Girls that deadlift are fabulous!

She didn't say protein isn't in nuts, she questions why they're considered a strong source of protein. Calorically comparing to other protein sources, they aren't. 163 cals of almonds only has 6 gram protein while 163 cals of chicken has 34 grams protein. In many diets nuts are not a good source of protein (but are in…

Yeesh, idk if I would just because so many people can be so sensitive to those smells. Maybe take a poll at work? At one of my previous jobs someone put a sign on our microwave, "NO MORE CHITTERLINGS IN THE MICROWAVE - JESSE, THIS MEANS YOU!!" I mean they even called him out, hahaha. The smell was horrendous.
-
Hahaha, this made me laugh. I have chickens so I totally get this. OP, I have meat at almost every main meal and some of my snacks include meat. I'm maintaining a 130 lb. loss.

The common recommendation of drinking half your body weight is how many ounces to drink - I weigh 133 lbs. so I would drink approximately 70 oz.

Bret Contreras is freakin' fabulous!! Glutemaster B!!

I have been enjoying Ruby Tuesday's grilled chicken breast with spaghetti squash and grilled zucchini (app. 300 cals)- tonight will actually be the 3rd time this week, haha

Same for me (except I'm on 5000 a day). Doc said the prescription D2 isn't nearly as effective as supplemental D3 because body doesn't utilize D2 properly.
