5.2lbs is great - it's a little higher than 1lb/wk. Today was my second weigh-in, been back tracking for a week, and lost 1lb. I suppose I expected more, and was disappointed...until I realized that it's better than gaining a pound, and I have my period this week (which most people seem to gain that week)...so I shook…

I don't eat much fast food any more, but it's more that I don't like it/it's gross than the amount of calories in it. I do love In N Out, but I live on the East Coast, so when I go out west I have it. I got in the habit of drinking soda, and gave it up mostly for the chemicals that are in it. I do and will buy natural soda…

I succeeded in my goals for today! I got a surprise flower delivery at work and had to go downstairs to the security desk to pick it up. I walked down, but took the elevator all 7 floors....didn't want to chance dropping the vase full of flowers and water on the stairs and breaking it and making a huge mess! I gave myself…

I got my Fitbit Charge HR a week ago and am very happy with it. My diary is open to friends - I will send requests out!

JFT 9/29 1. Walked up the stairs at work, will walk down them to go home 2. Not buy unhealthy snacks on the way home (I will be getting home late and should have packed a healthy snack) 3. Not buy all the food in the grocery store (yeah....I really should eat before going shopping!)

This is great to read! I bought a Fitbit a week ago and love it, and was wondering about the accuracy of the calories burned in a day. I thought of calculating it out (I love math, hah) and hadn't gotten around to it yet. I think I will give it a month and see if I lose and then re-assess. I do log as accurately as I can…

Thank you! I REALLY wanted them, but knew I would regret it afterwards. I'm glad now that I didn't grab them! I had one after dinner for a treat tonight and enjoyed it much more than I would have enjoyed the 2 dozen this morning!

I have a Fitbit Charge HR. I've had it about a week and I really like it. I was curious about the heartrate part so got the HR. I am lucky, my employer reimburses us $100/yr for fitness related expenses, so with the 20% coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond (and after my reimbursement) mine cost me $20. If you're in the states and…

Had some pretty good NSV's over the last few days. Had a work cookout lunch on Friday. I pre-planned and pre-tracked what I was going to have (had the menu beforehand) and actually ate less than I planned. Plus, I played badminton for about a half hour and some other lawn games and had a great time, even though I suck at…

Totally unrelated to weight loss.....my friend's son is autistic and on a gluten free dairy free diet (has been for 12yrs) and this might be a great alternative to whipped cream! I already bake desserts/birthday cakes gluten/dairy free but haven't found an acceptable whipped cream alternative. Thanks for the idea!

I spent the last 3 or 4 days reading through this thread and I have to say it is quite inspiring. I've been at this since 2003 and in that time I've lost 100lbs (2004), gained it back, lost it again (2011) and have let 40lbs creep back this time. In that time, I've experienced most of what has been mentioned in this…

I don't purposely go around telling people what I weigh, and if I were asked I'm pretty sure I'd tell them what I weigh. I started 10yrs ago at 268, lost 100 lbs, gained it all back, lost it again (4 hrs ago) and 40lbs have crept back on. Not letting that happen again. My boyfriend knows what I've lost and gained, and…

I just got a FitBit last week, and have been looking at the calories burned each day in comparison to MFP. I have not added specific exercise or activity to my day yet, and was pretty certain the calories burned via FitBit were the calories I burn in my day to day activity (plus staying alive) and am glad to hear that I…

[/quote] Stuck mostly to yesterday's goals - I had a whole sandwich at Panera instead of half and half a salad. I consciously made the decision to do that, so I'm happy with the decision. And I went to sleep at 10!! It was because I was exhausted, but it was still 10! JFT 1. Walk the last two flights of stairs at work if I…

Thank you both for your help! I see that there is a bookmark feature....I'll have to use that for discussions I want to be able to find again. Dianne - that stinks that they took the feature away! Nice to know I'm not crazy though, haha!

I am 41 and have about 80 more to lose. I have lost and kept off 60lbs over the last few years (with some fluctuation) - I lost 100lbs twice with WW (lost it once and gained it all back), and 40lbs has crept back over the last few years. Time to catch it and stop before all 100 creep back. I have done MFP a few different…

Hi Everyone! I am 41 and have done this circus a few times. I'm hoping this is the last time. I have previously lost 100lbs on WW (twice....gained it all back and lost it again), and 40lb has crept back on this time. I'm happy I'm realizing it before it's all back - it's too much work to do it all over again! In total, I'd…

I currently see my boyfriend on weekends, and I just eat less than he does. He has quite large dinner plates, so I usually opt to have my food (if it's a casserole type dish) in a smaller bowl - it looks like more food than it is. He usually fills the plate. I have bought some smaller plates for him for when we have…

I find pre-logging makes me stick to my plan better. Especially when going out to eat and I know where I'm going. It's easier to stick to what I have already decided to eat than to log something different afterwards. I tend to eat the same breakfast and lunch during the work week and find it helps to pre-log these also,…

I just read through a little bit, and I like this idea a lot! It's so easy to get discouraged by the 'big picture' of losing weight (have already lost 100 and gained back 40...have another 80 or so to go), but taking it one day at a time seems a lot easier to manage. Just For Today: 1. Stick to the eating plan I mapped out…

Hi tgb1644! I was previously on Weight Watchers also, and lost 100lbs...twice (gained it all back and lost again). I thought I knew what I was doing and ended up trying it on my own. I am now looking at 40+lbs creeping back and trying to get a handle on it before it all comes back. I was much happier with how my clothes…

I have been eating them all back and have had great success so far.

Yes. I very well might be a little crazy!

I did it!!! I rode to work this morning! 21 miles, 1hr45min of riding time (total 2hr 10min). It was fantastic! As I saw my building come into view I started laughing because I actually did it! :) Going to try to do this once or twice a week.....weather and life permitting of course. ~Chelle

I am also going in September, with the regular dining plan, and this is exactly what I plan to do. I may try to write down what I'm eating just to see it on paper later, but if I forget....oh well. It's Disney, I'm going to enjoy myself, but I'm not going to scoff down every treat in sight just because it's there. ~Chelle…

I thought more about it last night, and there's really no reason NOT to ride to work....so I'm going to give it a shot on Tuesday 7/1, unless there is significant rain in the forecast. There isn't right now, but this is New England and it could change at any time, haha. I figure if I'm tired and want to give up on the way…

I am working on the logistics of biking to work. Like a previous poster, my commute would be about 20miles, but it would be on fairly non-busy backroads (at least for the most part), and all roads have a shoulder. I have driven the route and it's not too bad. We have showers/change rooms at work so that's a big plus.…

I am 5'0" tall and started at 268 and wore a 44DD/DDD. I am down to 188 and wear a 40DD right now.
