I wish my husband would make more processed meals. Well, not totally. But they are so much easier to put in my diary. Otherwise I have to list every ingredient and guess how much of it I ended up eating out of the meal.2

How cold you can get in supermarkets, even in summer! Our local Stop and Shop store is always cold. Before I lost weight I used to like it, especially when it's hot out. But now I'm freezing when I walk around.0

That's me! I start arguing with the person and then have to remember to say thanks. Still having a hard time with the comments, good and questionable ones.

Do you have a food scale? I use the recipe function to make the meal, weigh all my pots before cooking, weigh all ingredients, weigh the whole dish with food to determine portions when done and then subtract the weight of the pot. You can play around with the numbers to get the amount of calories you want per portion. You divide the whole food amount by the amount you dished up and voila! This is a pain in the ***, but it's the most accurate way I have found. I actually made a chart with my pots, pans and bakeware listed by weight to make it quicker in the long run. This keeps my math skills sharp. Which is also an unexpected result from this process. Also, hip bones poking the mattress in my favorite sleeping position is not all that welcome but I will take it.

This is interesting. My husband has been nothing but supportive, when I was fat and thin. I've lost a lot of weight over the last 7 months, and yesterday I told him we needed to set up a weight room in the basement. I'm ready to start focusing on getting stronger, not just losing more weight (he already lifts free weights in the basement). He said I was already good the way I am and that I don't need to be strong, that he's "strong enough for the both of us." Also, "women are supposed to be weak and pathetic, not strong." He said I should just spot work my trouble areas (hips/butt/thighs). I never expected that kind of insecurity from him. I told him I'd at least like to be able to haul 100 lb. bags of grain (we have a farm and I always have to get him to unload the 100 lb. bags). He said no women can handle 100 lb. bags, which I don't believe as I bet there are plenty of women on here who can handle that much weight.9 -

I think it's sweet that he wants to be your protector. My husband didn't want me lifting weights either (he didn't want me to become a "she hulk" ) but with gentle persuasion and mental seed planting, he is happy as a bug in a blanket with my progress.
Husbands, wives, partners etc all have different reactions about our weight loss. It's a journey for them too I suppose.
As for a woman handling a 100lb bag, hmmmm I can deadlift 80kgs and I can squat 80kgs and that's about 176lbs
If I can do it, just about anyone can. Maybe give him a hug and tell him that no matter how strong you get - he'll always be your big strong protector, cause that's his job and you love him for it7 -
LOL. That IS his job, and I'm certainly not trying to take it away from him! Maybe I'll just get strong without letting him know how strong I've gotten.1

Right there with you. "You'd know I still need to lose weight if I was standing here naked!" has been known to silence a few people.
No, I don't get invited to social gatherings very often, why do you ask?

There are so many countless more things. I'm just happy I made the decision to start this journey.
Reading this thread has made me so happy that I've started this journey... 12lb down and already feeling the benefits. A long way to go but I'm excited. Doing really healthy food shops. Not just cutting out crap and buying a few ' health bars' but real food, veg, salad, nuts, herbs, spices. I'm enjoying cooking from scratch and knowing exactly what I'm eating. Finding the exercise a bit harder but with a PT for a sister it won't be long before I'm running everyday. Can't wait to post a photo of myself in my maid of honour outfit feeling happy and confident! 4 months time I will be 3 stone lighter and so much healthier xxx

I'm having an issue right now from changing my diet and increasing my exercise: I'm restless and I'm bored. My usual activities do not amuse me. Posting here is fun, but I need to get out of here and go do something way more fun. And I can't think of anything. Whine whine whine! Maybe a bike ride will help.3

Badminton club, tennis club, running group, heck even a bowling league! Find a SOCIAL activity!

I spent the last 3 or 4 days reading through this thread and I have to say it is quite inspiring. I've been at this since 2003 and in that time I've lost 100lbs (2004), gained it back, lost it again (2011) and have let 40lbs creep back this time. In that time, I've experienced most of what has been mentioned in this thread. For some reason, this time is different and I'm finding it hard to find the motivation to stick with it (even though I KNOW it works), so reading all of this really helped my head to get on the right track. Thank you all!6

I am now 8 months in my journey and have lost 34lbs, with about 10-15 more to go. I have FINALLY noticed the arm pit shaving thing everyone in here talks about! It is definitely trickier now! It's weird to me how confident and pretty I can feel one day, and the next feel the same way I did on the day i was talking my before pictures.
Also, I knew some people wouldnt be as supportive as others, but I never expected those people to be some of the closest to me. I don't think they do it maliciously, more so because they are envious of the progress I've made. They will all come around eventually and maybe even start their own journey!1 -
I'm having issues with getting frustrated about the loose skin on my stomach and arms. I've only lost 75 pounds, but I know it's going to get worse.1

I realized yesterday that my acne has all but disappeared with the better diet (i.e. just a lot less junk food). *cue the zit on my nose*2
