  • I am very close to my ideal weight (about 17lbs away), and it has taken me a year to lose 12 lbs. It took me about 4 months to lose 5lbs. It is a lot harder to lose weight when you are close to your natural/ideal weight. Don't let that stop you from trying though. You can do it!
  • Thanks everyone who responded with their blogs/websites! Much appreciated!
  • You are living proof that a woman can look amazing at the 160lb range! Woot!
  • I WISH I had this problem. I have such a hard time just staying at 1200 calories/day! I live a pretty active lifestyle though, so that might be a big part of it. I suggest eating nuts, eggs, or pasta to get some more calories during the day. You have to balance all the essentials. You gotta have some carbs!
  • two kiwis Trader Joes Pretzel Sticks!
  • kickass! you look smoking!
  • thanks for all the replies! I don't plan on purchasing Activia anymore, especially since it is a waste of packaging and it doesn't make me have BMs. I'll stick with my big containers of plain, fat-free yogurt with frozen, organic fruit!
  • Thanks everyone for all the support-it means a lot! I have been running on a regular basis (almost every day except weekends) since September of 2010. I have been running the same 3 mile loop on a regular basis as well. My regular time for that was a consistent 30 min. for almost 5 months until very recently. I have been…
  • Awesome! Thanks for the advice everyone!
  • Thanks for all the input everyone! I think I'll stick to something like oatmeal/steel cut oats for breakfast from now on. I love all oatmeal! It tastes great with Trader Joes dried wild blueberries! Yum!
  • You look phenomenal! Keep up the good work!
  • about 163lbs last year and now I am about 155lbs. not much lost in weight, but I feel and look much slimmer and muscular!
  • Processed meats Most canned goods Less candy! Eating out at franchises less!
  • It could be the sodium intake. I started putting more into my diet since I was consistently under in my sodium intake for such a long time. I don't add sodium to the foods I make, so a lot of times when I am putting those food items into my journal, I am taking a wild guess as to how much sodium it really has (not…
  • Thank you everyone... I needed some reassurance this morning! I need to stop weighing myself the week of my TOM. It is ALWAYS discouraging! I wouldn't mind the weight gain if I was actually going to bear a child, but hopefully that won't be for a while! Men have got it so easy sometimes! My guy friends always seem to lose…
  • I am 5' 5'' and I am very athletic and toned at 155lbs. I only need to lose about another 10 lbs and I will be healthy and have little to no body fat. I thought 135lbs was a reasonable goal, but I don't think it's possible with my body type! Don't be so focused on a number. I know it's harder said than done! Just be…
  • Well before my binge of four days, I was doing really well with my diet and exercise. I was probably eating under my caloric-intake with all the working out I've been doing ( I walk all day at work, then come home and work out even more!). I was down to 155 before my binge and that was 3 lbs lighter than the previous week,…
  • You are far from alone. I am very much the same as you described when it comes to overeating and having to start from square one. I found this book to be very beneficial: The End of Overeating by David Kessler. It is EXTREMELY helpful. Good luck.
  • I am just starting with a 5-disc set. I have a HRM but it I don't trust it. It is a Polar 6 and it doesn't seem to catch my heart rate very well ( I got it offline, and I think the battery is dying on it!). I will try doing the high impact aerobics thing for now. Thanks for the advice! Much appreciated!
  • Thank you so much everyone! I have been using my knuckles for push-ups, but I'm glad I can work on doing them the "regular" way. I will take peoples' advice wholeheartedly. Thanks!
  • I have ALWAYS had issues with constipation! I also had my gallbladder removed about 7 years ago and I was only 18 when they took it out (it is genetic and runs in my family). I know we aren't supposed to advertise any products on here, but I have tried everything out on the market for making a happier colon, but I have…
  • The closer your body gets to an equilibrium weight, the harder it is to lose weight. You may have to change up your workout routine so your body gets the hint that something is different. I believe they call this "plateauing." This seems to happen to me quite a bit. My body seems perfectly content at being 160...I was…
  • I encounter the same frustration as you. I measured my waist not too long ago and it was closer to 35 inches and I wear a size 8 most of the time. Certain companies downsize their pants so you think you are skinnier than you really are (depressing, isn't it?). Old Navy seems to downsize a lot. Levi's jeans always seem to…
  • I have been doing ChaLEAN since last year in June. I have been doing it at a much slower pace (I know that's not how it is intended to work), but I have had pretty awesome results. I don't look much more buff, but I can tell that I have a lot more muscle than I used to. I burn calories like crazy! For example, usually…
  • I have mostly been doing only circuit training as far as toning exercise goes. What I don't understand is that when I look in the mirror, my love handles look smaller and overall I seem to be more tone. I measured again in the morning when I am at least a few pounds lighter than in the evenings, and still came out with the…
  • I will trade you! I always eat over my calories, by at least 100 or so. I am always SO HUNGRY! I could eat all day if I let myself go. I have noticed that I am more hungry than I used to be because I am doing a lot of Circuit Training now.
  • So there may still be hope that all this work i'm doing is actually paying off..thank you!
  • Maybe it's just genetic...I am hitting an age where my fat all goes to my stomach and sides. I have noticed that I deposit more fat on my love handles and stomach, but I have also noticed that they have both slimmed down since September. I LOOK more toned than I did then. I did just eat a big dinner. I don't know if that…
  • Thanks for the advice:) I do my best not to eat overly processed sugars. I can't help myself to chocolate from time to time though!
  • Woah. That is incredible! I have only done 2 miles at a time and I thought that was a big milestone for me. I am an avid cyclist but I can't run to save my life! Totally different muscles!
