Maybe someone needs comprehension lessons. I was telling the other poster that the definition of [recommended] max hr isn't necessarily true, and using myself as an example to show that it isn't necessarily true; my max (by definition/calculation of 220-age), doesn't hold true for me. Comprende? Buh bye.

Um. I don't want to be rude, but there is no other way to do this. DUH! It isn't the fastest your heart DOES go; it's the fastest your heart SHOULD go. It doesn't mean that we lose a beat a minute per year during exercise. It means that it isn't recommended that our hearts beat that fast, MAX. Again... no other way around…

I know this was someone else... but I just wanted to put my 2c in for all it's worth (about 2 cents...) :-p I have a pretty fast HR when running. I'm a 37 YO female. I don't usually disclose my HR because I think people will tell me to see a doctor and get nosy, but I'm cleared for exercise... but mine is anywhere from…

This is because the treadmill doesn't actually know... Get a HRM. You may be burning less. You may be burning more. I know when I pump up the incline and go a little faster, my heartrate gets up to my running heartrate pace--and I swing my arms and tighten my bottom just the way I do when I'm pushing the stroller up the…

Everybody just buy a fitbit; let it do the calculating, and relax.... That being said--I can do 10 minute warm up on the treadmill, 10 minutes HIIT, 10 minutes on my bike, 10 minutes elliptical, and 10 minutes cool down on my treadmill using my HRM, and burn over 500 calories. It's all intensity, weight, and even muscle…

you.look.fan-freaking-tastic!!! Congrats!

A) it's delicious. B) it's fantastic. C) what's not to love about delicious, fantastic peanut butter? I eat it by the spoon, on my fruit, on my bread or toast, in my crackers, etc. I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER. :)
-
That is AMAZING!! You look fantastic!

Is that okra? Barf.

If it's food, you like it, and you're not allergic, you should eat it. In moderation. This is not about deprivation, but instead, moderation. *dietary fat, white flour, bacon, lunch meats, fatty steaks etc. do not make you fat. Too many calories and lack of exercise is what makes you fat.
-
^^ ditto! And for goodness sakes, make sure you EAT enough!

Oh heck. I can put a 24 oz. Porterhouse down. No lie. With the bread, salad, and some of the gigantic potato. Ask my sister. She's on here. Actually, she may enter this thread on her own when it posts to my page. I love me some steak... 3 oz. is just a bite. :p

You will pry my burgers from my cold, dead hands. And my chocolate too. And I use whipping cream and coconut oil in my coffee. I like fat. And chocolate. And hamburgers (although I make them with ground turkey)... and I eat them with pickles, darn it. And full fat mayo. Oy. I'm going to hell.

I'm a mom of 5. I'm nursing also, but my "baby" is 2. :) My diary is open for friends, but I'm FAAAAAAAAAAAAAR from perfect. I don't log housework though... but I have a view on it: if it's something they didn't do before trying to lose/get fit, it counts. If they were doing it while getting fat, apparently it didn't help.…

Maybe he's narcoleptic? :p

HOT! Great job!

^^ haven't you ever watched the show "The Biggest Loser"? They definitely have unevenly distributed fat to begin with and throughout the loss process. If you've seen them afterward, you'll see they eventually get it evened out. At least mostly.

I highly doubt it's 250 calories in 10 minutes. I can full on run a 9 minute mile with my heart racing at about 185 and only burn 120 calories in 10 minutes... *170-ish pounds, 37 YO female.

There is a group with tons of members who could tell you: IT WORKS.

be consistent. eat more. do strength training (pass up the Barbie weights). Find a good program for this. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/
-
... n/m. I'm not even sure this is real.
-
When I do strength training (I do heavier, not Barbie weights), I do it as an HIIT workout, and I do wear my HRM. My HR gets up to 160's. That's a workout. Therefore, it's valid. :) If someone is going to lift and their HR isn't elevated, then it would seem more of a waste to calc it... I guess.

I was going to recommend sweet potato fries as well. They are surprisingly delicious!

WOW! You look phenomenal!

I recognize you. What happened to your other account where you swore by eating so little and exercising it all off as the ONLY way to lose weight?

I make them into burritos and/or tacos. I cook them until they're tender, drain, saute some onion in a little olive oil, add the lentils, and then season as I do tacos: chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, and salt. mix well (sometimes needs a little water to spread the seasoning…
