I sent a request. I also sent requests to several, but not all, other posters on this thread. Please feel free to add me if you read this. I am almost to my goal weight and plan to keep logging once I reach it. I would love to give/receive support and hopefully help motivate others to lose. It has been a long journey but…

I know I will probably catch a lot of crap for saying this, but it took me two years to figure out what worked for me as far as what to eat and feel full and to lose more quickly. After logging for almost two years and consistently eating at a deficit, I had only lost 10 pounds. After just ONE MONTH of not eating processed…

I'm in. If anyone wants to add me, please do with a note that it's because of this thread. Thanks and good luck to all of you/us!

I quit just over 5 years ago! You CAN do this. Some tricks I used were to carry a pencil behind my ear at all times so that when I had the urge to smoke, I could hold the pencil between my fingers long enough for the urge to pass. Believe it or not, a lot of the urge to smoke is strictly habit of having that cigarette…

There are studies that show it improves brain function, and it is a healthy fat that will help you feel fuller longer, so I'm FOR~! (I sneak some into my coffee sometimes, but you have to drink it before it cools off and solidifies)

Cucumbers with avocado spread (or guacamole), nuts, seeds, unsweetened yogurt with almond milk. KIND bars (the Nuts and Spices variety are low sugar) when your sweet tooth is out of control. I also read recently that the scent of sandalwood can help squash sugar cravings, so get some incense or essential oils and give it a…

I've been packing a sliced cucumber and a little mini cup of guacamole to dip it in. It's yummy, low-cal, and filling. I also like pumpkin seeds or any seeds/nuts, really, and the KIND nuts and spice bars have a good amount of protein and healthy fat but low sugar.

A calorie deficit IS the only way to lose. If you eat back what you burn through exercise yet stay in a deficit, yes, you will lose. If you eat back every calorie you burn to the point where you go over your goal, you won't lose, making your workout ineffective FOR WEIGHT LOSS. Anyway, I was trying to be helpful, not start…

A calorie deficit is the only way to lose, and there's no deficit if you eat as much as you burn. Everybody is different, obviously, but I have to beat my "goal" by at least 500 calories to lose. If I eat back my exercise calories, I won't lose an ounce. And as long as macros are met, energy shouldn't be an issue. Again,…

You don't have to "meet" your calorie goal, you just have to beat it. If your goal is 2100, you want to eat fewer calories than that, but no more. As long as you consume at least 1,200 calories a day, you're good, as anything less can cause your metabolism to slow since your body will think you're starving. My goal is…

One other thing is, I got so discouraged last year because I was struggling to make my goals, struggling every single day, when I had my desired weight loss set to 2 pounds a week. I almost quite because i was so hungry. instead, I adjusted it to 1 pound a week and was surprised at how much more this allowed me to eat,…

I have been in your shoes! I did the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred last summer, and I was so discouraged because I had gained 5 pounds at the end of the 30 days. But then I got out my tape measure and found that I'd lost 4 inches off my waist, two inches off my hips, an inch and a half off each thigh and a half inch off my…

not letting him cheat on me. Seriously, the only time I've been dumped, it went like this: My boyfriend and I were both 16 and had been dating about six months (this is a LONG time to a 16-year-old) when his mom made him move about an hour away with his dad, and his ex-girlfriend there (from sixth grade!) tried getting…
