Not eating your calories back is harmful to you and your body. No you will not go into starvation mode immediately but if you continue this way for eating yes you could. The problem with those who have hypothyroid is that your metabolism is shot due to the improper functioning thyroid. First, solution is to make sure your…

You look great.....I also am hypothyroid and struggle with my weight loss. So far I have only seen a 5 lbs. loss in 6 weeks; frustrating but I have seen a huge loss in inches. I am trying to keep my chin up because I know (like others here) I am gaining my muscle loss back from starving myself in the past. I had a huge…

Actually muscle weighs the same as fat....the difference as you can see in the picture is 5 lbs. of muscle is larger in volume than 5 lbs. of muscle.

Lynne I feel you...I am in the same boat! You said you eat a 1400 calorie diet and that you burn minimum 1000 calories a day.....Are you also eating the 1000 calories you burned? You need to eat a minium of 1200 calories a day AFTER you account for the calories you burn in order to lose weight and live a healthy life. So…

Day 15; day 3 @ level 3. Very tired this morning struggled but finished! Welcome to those joining us and just starting out! FYI.....anyone getting ready to move to level 3 I suggest you get a yoga mat if you don't already have one. Three days at level 3..... I am starting to get rug burns on my elbows from all the…

Great job on your run today! I would suggest not just eating 3 square meals a day; you need to have snacks in-between also which will help not making your meals have to be extraordinary high. I would suggest adding a protein drink/shake in after your run and either cut back on your fruits so you can do this without adding…

Make things easier on yourself don't eat and don't exercise then there is no concern then you also don't have to worry about counting or not counting! .....then you have tons of free time on your hands (if you have the engery and strength!)! If i eat 1200 and I burn 1200 calories then I have zero calories for the day; goal…

Just found this and thought I would bring it back out for those, like me, who didn't know what this meant either! ~Thanks

* How many calories are you eating a day? * How many calories are you burning through exercise? * What types of foods are you eating? * Are you drinking water?

You may want to have your calcium, magnesium and potassium levels checked as they also, in addition to water (which you seem to be ok on), play a role in how muscles react; not having adequate amounts can cause muscle spasms. Calcium and magnesium help relax your muscles which is what it sounds like you need. Based on the…

Congrats to those just starting and those who have lost or are seeing changes!!! Keep up the great work. I am sorry to hear a few of you are hurt and have to postpone your workouts or modify them to suit your current needs. Just continuing to do something for yourself will help! Today was Day 14 for me…..day 2 at level 3.…

I will go back to what I said earlier.... Make things easier on yourself don't eat and don't exercise then there is no concern then you also don't have to worry about counting or not counting! .....then you have tons of free time on your hands! If i eat 1200 and I burn 1200 calories then I have zero calories for the day;…

Wrong! Your body needs a minimum of 1200 (women) 1500 (men) calories per day to live and survive on BEFORE any extra exercise that you do above and beyond your daily functions/living are burned. If you use extra calories ABOVE and BEYOND your daily living (IE burning them through exercise) you must replace them. If you eat…

I have a grand idea...... Why not eat at all and don't exercise then you will have so much more time to play, hang out with friends, watch TV, go to the movies etc.????? That is if you have the energy to do so because you haven't eaten anything! ***Same concept right? Sounds like a win win to me!
-
Thanks! I wish I could force myslef to get up early enough to eat first as I think it would really help but I just can't! Ever since my daughter stopped ice skating and I didn't have to get up at 3:30 I enjoy my sleep.......

The shoulders are killer no matter how many days you have been doing this period...in my opinion any way.

Amazing transformations!!! Thank you to everyone who has shared their success stories; it is wonderful motivation! I can’t wait to be a success story…. ~ Thanks again and good luck to everyone on their personal journey

Great job everyone!!! Welcome to the folks just starting! Those that are doing two workouts in a row……WOW!!! Amazing! Sorry I haven't updated my progress in a few days; took Monday off because I over slept and I do turbo kick after work.... Today was Day 12 for me….. day 6 @ level 2. I was going to try level 3 today but…

Well it looks like you have gotten many recommendations; hopefully something will work for your child! I do recommend trying one thing at a time to see what works and what doesn't work. I personally suffer from eczema on my scalp right at the bas of my head; not a fun place to have it! I have done a ton of research to see…

I know I saw someone else post this also....you need to start small. Here is what I did.... I started with replacing at least 1 if not 2 of my diet sodas with Sparking Ice water (www.sparklingice.com). These are wonderful zero calorie slightly carbonated flavored waters that feel like you are getting the soda you crave.…

Personally, I took your comment the other way....as in you were saying 8oz did not equal 1 cup and therefore you needed to drink more than what you are drinking to get enough which I knew was wrong. I now see from your second post that you were meaning that if you were drinking from a "glass" you may be drinking more than…
-
WOW! a 1 liter bottle of water is 33.8 oz which equals slightly more than 4-8oz glasses of water and you drink 3-4 liters a day? 3 liters = almost 13 glasses a day and 4 liters= almost 17 glasses a day. That seems like too much as that is almost double what you need to drink??
-
I don't know about this....I was an avid Diet coke drinker with little to none water drinker. I now drink 1, maybe 2 diet cokes a week and I think I live in the bathroom ever more so now! (been doing this for 6+ weeks now so I think my body should be used to it by now)
-
OK maybe there other one wasn't so high after all....
-
This is very high; it certainly doesn't sound correct. How long was your class?
-
It must be that time....my classes have all changed the routines as well. I have seen my calories burned go down as well because I am lost and have to stop more to figure out what is going on. I have CRD (Caucasian Rhythm Dysfunction) so I have to really pay attention. If you’re not struggling try to add more pep into what…

OK, everyone burns calories differently based on age, weight and height. MFP uses the information you entered to calculate an estimate of what you are burning. For me I used general aerobics and according to MFP I should burn 484 calories. Not wanting to overestimate I lowered mine to 350. However, I just purchased a HRM…

Have you tried level 2 yet? I also experience shin and calve pain and level 2 seems to be easier on them for me anyhow (double jump rope is probably the hardest part for me because it is at the end but there isn’t too many). Also, make sure you are stretching your calves and shins before you start this helps. Mine actually…

I am almost 43 and a mom of 2...well kind of big now; 18 and 23. However, I work full-time and go to school full-time and trying to get into a routine before school starts up again in a few weeks. I only have 2 classes this summer and 7 this coming fall so it may be a bit challenging but I plan to stick with it! I am…
