Typical is 2 scrambled or fried eggs and some egg whites and a teaspoon of organic coconut butter, a veggie with it like spinach thrown in or stir-fried organic zucchini, some salsa thrown in for flavor. That's pretty typical for me.

For my son, I make gluten-free chicken strips. I just crush up gluten-free corn flakes (they have some organic, unsweetened types out there), throw in onion/garlic powder, some sea salt and wala. for me I dip in egg first and bake them.

5.5 months and 10 lbs gained seems pretty normal, in fact really good. I always gain about 35ish lbs. during my pregnancies no matter how small or big I started at. Very frustrating. You should be very proud of your 10 lb weightloss in 6 weeks, that's almost 2 lbs per week, that's amazing. That's not staying still and that's not going up, it's losing, so great job! And for someone under 180, 10lbs is a lot more than someone 250 or 300 lbs, so be proud, head up!

Thyroid issues are a very good reason. People who are hypothyroid cannot go on plant proteins, I have tried and with disasterous results. They must eat meat and protein often (low carb diet). Low carb also helps to lose weight, soy is not an option for hypothyroids.

Kids are like this. My naturopath said to find what your kid likes (even if it's one thing) and just feed them that all the time. So maybe there is one veggie you like, stick to that. Those are some good suggestions. There is also organic brown rice protein powder. You can have coconut milk. My son is allergic to gluten/wheat/soy/citrus/egg/dairy and I don't eat gluten or dairy either.
