  • ME! I suffered serious consequences to eating vegetarian. I ate a lot of soy and tofu which messed with my hormones. I had about 85 symptoms at one time and it triggered my thyroid issues. I was working out 5x a week 1 to 1.5 hours a day, eating salads, tofu scrambles and soy milk lattes and I gained like 80 lbs in a short…
  • The chicken one would not cost $6, it would be much more than that! Our bills are way up because of our healthy eating but I wouldn't change it- we are healthier because of it and therefore use less medication, less doctor trips/hospital trips, etc. Our health is much better because of it. Personally, I don't feel that…
  • Tremendous job!
  • Mine is 22 and I have had to point it out to people. I think people think I"m the same size within 40 lbs. I guess that's good it means that we distribute our weight well and evenly. One feat you CAN be proud of is the fact you lost 30 lbs even if you can't see it. Try carrying a 30-lb bag of dog food up stairs, and around…
  • It can feel overwhelming when you feel like you have so much to lose. This is how I look at it...I don't shoot for the end goal, I think of it in increments. I do 20 lb ones and that seems more doable to me. I imagine how much better I'll feel with 20 more pounds off and then go from there.

  • Bust a Move (Young MC's) Pump Up the Jam (love this one!) Sonique (Take me Higher) Ice Ice Baby (Yeah, I said it)
  • When I was in 7th grade, all I would workout to was Information Society, remember them? lol Oh and Depeche Mode, Enjoy the Silence CD, I mean "tape" back then.
  • Love SWV!!! I like to dance or workout to Sonique 90's dance music. Oh Montell Jordan would be good too and TLC...love it.
  • My stomach would go haywire, too much of anything, it goes haywire. What happens when you go back to regular eating? Also grapefruit to me is gross, lol and it interferes with medications like thyroid medication. I could only eat grapefruit maybe with sweetener on top and wouldn't that reduce what you're supposed to be…
  • Sounds great. you can replace bacon with canned chicken breast, deli turkey or just egg, I add nuts like broken raw pecans are my favorite. I love crunch to my salad, so nuts, celery are my favs. I love egg on a salad. I like my lettuce/spinach to be organic. I drizzle mine with Extra virgin olive oil and apple cider…
  • I do. I've always liked hanging out with men and women, so why not online as well. Guys give me good pointers for workouts like weightlifting and have great ideas just as my gal pals do. I just have one guy so far as a friend, though I guess I need some more male friends on here. I haven't been on MFP very long, though. It…
  • Ha, I think someone is trying to stir the pot on here... Yes, I am a SAHM who eats bon bons all day, I smoke and party wee hours into the night, shop and spend freely, have a nanny, private schooling for my kids, cleaning service and you name it (not)! I have stayed home for the past 6.5 years because we decided we didn't…
  • I find taking lots of vitamin D (per your doctor) during dreary months helps with low energy/depression you know the winter blues. I personally take 5,000Iu's a day. I make my own homemade soups, they are easy once you get the hang of it, I love soup! Just boil a chicken, put in chopped garlic, sea salt, onion/veggies, and…
  • This is a good attitude to have. I go off diet sometimes and then (in the past) would just beat myself up about it, say I can't do it, negativity, etc and just think the whole diet thing is off for good, lol. But the fact is you can have off diet periods of times and then just get right back on it and you'll be fine.
  • I usually look at ingredients as opposed to all the other stuff, what is your salad made of (consist of?).
  • Good list on how to naturally deal with it. I don't know about the BControl, though I think that would mess my hormones too much, personally. I would add salmon oil to that list. I also take 5,000 IU's a day of vitamin D and notice a huge difference during blecky months. A light box for dreary months helps (natural light).…

  • My daughter was and still is a hot-lunch person (now almost 17) and I try try try so hard to get her to be healthier...we are a very healthy family. I try to educate her on better lunch choices at least. My son, is 6 and he HAS to have a packed lunch, after all he has MULTIPLE common food intolerances. He's going to be…
  • I feel a little embarassed at how everyone is logging in pound after pound they lose each week and I remain the same for 2 months. Effin' irritating, but I'm just going to keep doing what I do and working out and enjoying life. I can't do much more than that.
  • Many excuses; I got sick so out of the workout routine for 2-3 weeks and then it was difficult to re-start I got little or no results for weeks/weeks/months so I gave up Mental Blocks Thyroid stuff making my metabolism slower so then I get discouraged. I'm not giving up this time. Never. Ever. No way. Nope. Not happening.
  • I love it, just when I was ready to hear all negative stuff!
  • I agree with this one and that is all I am saying.
  • I have 75 to go, only down 22-23 basically. I have tried everything, so all I can do is keep going. I've been going since March and trying to have patience. I guess I expect even 1 lbs a week, but that hasn't happened in 6-7 weeks. Weird. But I'm not stopping!
  • That is awesome. Great information on your blog!
  • I've been dairy/gluten-free for years. My son has multiple food intolerances such as egg even, So we're kinda used to it. If people give you a bad time, it's just because they are adjusting to the idea. If they eventually don't, then don't hang out with them! Since when are people the food police? I even bring food into…
  • I like taller men, usually slender and fit with muscletone. My husband is that, maybe getting a little too much on the thin side, though and hoping he'll do an Insanity workout for a couple months. I'd love to see his results.
  • Yep it's those dreaded Facebook tagged photos. lol. My mom takes the WORST pictures ever, makes any cute person look like a troll. She will upload them and I have rolls and chins oh my gosh I want to faint. It's a good kick in the butt, though. I want to print out one of those pictures and carry it with me, with one of me…
  • Rollerblading. Cranking up music and dancing/dance aerobics. Trampoline. Hiking/walking in nature. I used to love swimming. I don't like pools with too much chlorine and kids, only 3 feet tall, etc nowdays and lakes are so dirty these days. If I had a sea salt mineral pool in my own backyard in a warm place, I would love…
  • Pilates, floor leg lefts/type exercises like the inverted bicycle, leg lifts, crunches. You can do hand weights and do arm curls, squats, bench press on the floor/chest, (all sorts of arm workout with weights). Lunges, push ups, sit ups, side leg lifts. Core ball/yoga ball, yoga, stretching.
  • Thank you for that. I have hit a rut for a couple months or 1.5 months or something...but I feel like I look better despite barely any wt. changes. It will happen, keep it up...love it! You look so good.
  • A lot of women would love to look like that in a bikini, you look great. A lot of men would love those curves!
