I am with a lot of the people on the posting here. I eat between 1800 and 2000 calories a day, am 43 yrs old and just over 200 lbs at the moment. I have lost 17 pounds this month eating more calories instead of less, with an average of 3-5 pounds a week. You need to eat the base minimum of your BMI which for a lot of women…

For me, I have been up and down with my weight for years and then 9 months ago (on the 1st and 2nd of June), I had a HUGE wakeup call. I have a family history of heart disease and figured someday I would need BP meds but this was worse. I had already been put on high blood pressure meds about two weeks before and my doctor…

More than 30 needed here; more like 70 or close to it. I have only been on this site for about 3 weeks and I have lost 13 pounds, starting out from 220 and currently at 207. Part of that loss I believe came from my blood pressure change at the beginning of my journey here, but the rest is from eating nearly 2000 calories…

Yes, I believe it does. I went back and did our numbers again, based on working out 3-5 hours a week. So our numbers look like this: My daughter: BMR=2074 TDEE=3214 TDEE-20%=2571. Her workouts are usually 500 to 1000 calorie burns (depending on how long she works out) and from what I understand She would eat 2571 every day…

Hello and I want to thank you for doing all of this great work and sharing with us all. I believe I am going to be putting myself in that 'confused' group too, but only for a short bit I hope. I am wanting to see if I understand things right so I have it ok for both myself and my daughter. For me I have: BMR=1632 TDEE=2244…

Worked out on our Elliptical today for 25 minutes; I did 5 minutes on resistance 1, 5 on 8, 5 on 16, back down for 5 at 8 and the last 5 on 1. I usually aim for 20-40 minutes a day in one to two workouts, as long as I don't tire out my heart :-) I'm good to go :-)

I have always been a label reader but until 8 1/2 months ago, I never thought of noticing the sodium in most foods and how much is in everything we eat, even the natural foods, like eggs and milk. Why I had to have emergency bypass surgery (at 42), it opened up my eyes to how much sodium is in everything and even though I…

It varies for me. I love eggs so I will often have one whole egg, two egg whites, one to two tablespoons of mayo, a tsp of mustard and some mrs dash lemon pepper. Egg salad without the pickles and bread. Is very good. Other mornings I have oatmeal with between a 1/4 and a 1/2 cup of milk and some sweetner and cinnamon.…

I have two goals....to be down to the 180 I was before my heart surgery 8 months ago and then I would like to go down to about 140 or so. I have been the 105, 115 and 125 and those were just too skinny for my body frame but somewhere between 135 and 145 with muscle mass of course, will be my final goal :-)

My name is Margo and 8 months ago (on the 2nd of this month) I had a rude awakening. A little history first: I was a stay at home mom the whole time my children were in school but lived a far from sedentary lifestyle. My son was in football and my daughter in chorus and that kept us pretty busy, as well as their million…
