  • Been there, done that, made the video, have the T-Shirt! There are many paths up this mountain...we all have our beliefs and philosophies...I think if we don't face our stuff, we stuff our face. That said, this is a psychospiritual recovery -- the food issue is just a symptom, or a weapon . Our body is the battlefield, and…
  • I would love to post some photos, but don't see how -- any quick tips? Thanks!
  • Yes, I agree. I'm off all of my inflammatory foods - all refined sugars, all flour, all wheat, all artificial sweeteners -- and I feel 1000% better. Plus, as you said, no cravings for these foods. I tried "Moderation Management" for a while, e.g. 1 bagel/month, but it did not work. Eventually, the cravings crept back in…
  • Congratulations on being so brave to share about your food issue here -- that's the beginning of healing. Besides Overeaters Anonymous (which several people already referred you to), there are several other food addiction communities at large. I'm still not sure if we're allowed to post this info? At the risk of being…
  • Yes, and someone from MFP suggested making our own baked corn chips, which we are going to do! That way, the fat will be way low and much less salt, too.
  • Yes, so true... who eats 1/2 cup ice cream? That's a few bites...
  • Exactly -- that science works for me, too. But chips are in the RED ZONE...not a normal food group. I may just ban them from my life, at least for a while...it's like staying with a wife beating husband! You lose, but only 100% of the time! LOL....
  • Yes, that may be the way to go from now on. The Costco sized bag is TOO MUCH, the volume of it is such a turn on/freak out in the kitchen! LOL, listen to me, I sound as if I'm talking about a guy...but there is something to it.
  • Yes, that willpower is the solution...but if I had real will power, would I ever be fat? No, I would be rail thin, fit and fabulous. Two things help me the most: 1. With the sexy foods that are overstimulating (chips, chicken salad, grains, beans, anything carb leftover etc, nuts) I pre-measure into my right portions. For…
  • Counting chips??? It just doesn't work. I do better putting them on the scale. 2 oz. minimum...I just can't deal with the 1 oz. portion, usually 9-10 chips. It just makes me crazy!
  • Thanks for sharing -- homemade tortilla chips? My husband loves to putter in the kitchen, maybe I'll give him this assignment? LOL, I don't want to bake ANYTHING right now -- with 110 lbs. to go -- I don't want to tango with extra time in the kitchen.
  • Thanks for your understanding and positive pitch...here's more good news, too...with MFP, I too am experimenting with the verboten foods -- plugging into my day's grid at MFP -- and last week I shed 5 pounds, WITH pizza, chips and popcorn in my food plan..that rocks out for me.
  • Thanks for this post -- very useful! I get tired of my plain lowfat yogurt and fruit snack -- we're printing this out and hanging on our fridge!
