Exactly -- that science works for me, too. But chips are in the RED ZONE...not a normal food group. I may just ban them from my life, at least for a while...it's like staying with a wife beating husband! You lose, but only 100% of the time! LOL....

How about making your own healthy version? I think they have tortillas that are low calorie and lower carbs. Then just cut them up and bake them. I think lays has baked tortilla chips. They might be lower in calories fat etc.

I have a hard time eating more then 1 oz too. One thing that helps is take your serving and put the bag back in the pantry. That way you won't have see them and think about them as much :)

I love chips and it is the one thing I miss the most. I think the single serving 1oz bags would work the best. To portion out a large bag really requires a scale. How can you really count chips? There are small ones, big ones, and lots of little broken pieces. Another way to portion them out is if you buy a 9oz big bag, portion it out in to 9 little sandwich zipper bags. This way even if one is a little over and another under, it averages out and you still account for all the calories in your diary.

You need to be careful of some "single serving" bags, I looked on the back of a Big Grab bag and it contained three and a half servings, for a whopping 525 calories. I have also found the Kellogg’s Special K Cracker Chips, these fill the chip craving but with few calories. They consider a serving to be 27 pieces for 110 calories, but I find I am satisfied after 10-12 pieces. I just wish they would come out with some more normal chip like flavors (salt and vinegar, dill pickle, bbq).

1 oz of chips No Problem, same for cheese, and icecream. It's cuz these foods do not trip my trigger. But open a nice bottle of wine and one glass is never enough, no matter how good my intentions are.

I just don't get frustrated with myself anymore. It's not worth the internal guilt that ultimately leads to the all or nothing mentality.
If I do over endulge, which happens once-twice a week, I try to keep moving forward. Each time this happens I have a longer break from gorging myself. Everyone here binges or eats some not so healthly choices every now and then. It's just part of life.

I need to get a scale to weigh my food... I never know how much 1oz consists of.
But! I did separate my bag of pretzels so each baggy has 100cal based on the nutrition info on the back! So I feel pretty pleased about that.

Yes, so true... who eats 1/2 cup ice cream? That's a few bites...

Yes, and someone from MFP suggested making our own baked corn chips, which we are going to do! That way, the fat will be way low and much less salt, too.
