Hello! To meet my exercise goals I am going to do Wk 1 day 1 of C25K. I started it las week, but could not complete the work outs without cheating and walking during my 1 minute intervals, so I am repeating and setting the goal to actually complete the workout without walking during my run/jog time.
-
Count me in. My goal is 40 miles- combination jogging and walking outside. Do I have to keep them separate? I am doing C25K right now so should be able to accomplish that goal. Will check back tonight after my work out and report progress :drinker:

Yay!!! That is great!!!
-
Congrats on the 25 lost! You can definitely accomplish your goals!!
-
I am right there with you... I am going to have to repeat week 1 of c25k because right now I can only run for 45 seconds at the longest. But we can get there with time and determination.

That is awesome!!! I just started c25k and am hoping to be able to do that by May. Keep up the good work!

As long as you are putting in the effort, you won't disappoint yourself. As far as the positive attitude, still working on that one. You just have to remember that the weight will not fall off overnight, and that it is a process. I recommend taking measurements as well as using the scale. There are days where the scale…

I don't lose every week, and you can see in my diary that I have been eating horribly. But, I started C25K yesterday, and am planning on sticking to it. And I am making the effort to eat better, even tho circumstances are not working with me right now....
-
I personally don't, but I have seen people on here post that they plan what they will eat the day before and stick to it. I am not that type of person, I tend to not know what I am doing from day to day. So, that just doesn't work for me. I also wouldn't do it with exercises just because too much can happen in life, and I…

Love this!!! That is so something that I would do

You have been given a lot of good advice. What has worked for me is taking baby steps, not depriving myself of treats and cravings- because going on a "diet" generally means depravation and self destruction in my eyes, and not obsessing over if the scale moves or not. There are days where the scale won't move, and on those…

You don't have "Fantastic!" on the list. Gold star! ??

This. At 5'2", I weighed 220 lbs at my heaviest. I am now down to 197 but still don't see myself as super-huge. Yes, I am over weight, and by BMI standard obese. But I don't think that I look bad. I think that I carry my weight well and look smaller than I am. When I tell people that I weigh 200, they ask me where it is.…

So, I was reading that and laughing uncontrollably and sitting next to my husband, who asked what I was reading... I couldn't explain. But that was one of the funniest things I think I have read.

Never- soda: gave it up in October 2011. Rarely- alcohol: do drink on occasion but when I do only have one or two drinks. Everything else is fair game, and unfortunately I eat some things quite frequently that I should be eating not as much (ice cream, and mocha moolates).

Friend request sent! As others have said, the main thing is to not give up. Take baby steps, and if you mess up or over eat- forgive yourself. Do not beat yourself up for small mistakes. It's a process that does take time. I think a lot of it is also mental exercises. Compliment yourself and use positive self talk along…

Like someone else said- use positive self talk. Tell yourself that you are a beautiful person and you deserve good things. Second, also as many others have said, when you start to feel the urge to eat, go for a walk, or start some form of exercise or activity. Try to keep from thinking the bad thoughts. You can't always…

LOL... At the beginning of the response I was thinking "like politics and religion". Then I saw the second to last statement and lost it. Too funny. But on a serious note- I agree with misinformation being a bad thing, and I try not to reply to questions that I know absolutely nothing about.

Weighed 220 at 5'3". Joined a volunteer fire department, and had issues finding turnout gear that fit properly. And when put said gear on with SCBA and walked around, it felt like I had been working for over an hour already. Also, don't want to have a lot of the health issues that run in my family from being overweight.

No one has said anything to me about it. When my husband asks what I am doing, I tell him that I am tracking my calories. I am encouraging him to join this site and do the same thing, because he really wants to lose weight, but has medical limitations. I figure this would be one of the healthiest ways for him to go about…

That is incredible! Good job on kicking the bad habits and making healthier ones. Keep up the good work. And as others have already said- you look amazing! Thank you for sharing your story so that we could read it and use it as inspiration.

I was a regular soda drinker (drank pretty much a 6 pack a day), but gave it up 3 and 1/2 months ago. I didn't like the taste of diet soda, and actually think it may be worse for you because of the artificial sweeteners. I had tried coke zero, but found that if I drank too much of it I would get incredible stomach pains. I…

Welcome!! Feel free to add me :flowerforyou:

Good job so far!! I would say that if you tell your family to trust the system, you should do the same. I have lost about 14-15 lbs, and had the same thing happen when I lost 10. However, I didn't question it. Blind faith?? At any rate, I reduced my caloric intake as was suggested and am still losing, so I know that the…

This is a really good thing to remember!

Unfortunately, yesterday was my last day at that job. I am bummed because I really did like working there. Anyhow, I didn't do anything today, but I walked a lot around the area that I worked in on tuesday and wednesday. It was really SLOW. I think I am up to 5 days of activity out of 11 days. Need to try to get…

I had my gallbladder taken out mid november last year, so about 2 months ago. I really have not had any problems since the surgery, except once ( I ate too much greasy food and got a stomach ache). Other than that- not so much. I gave up a lot of the foods that made me ill before the surgery, so my habits changed a lot…

Today, I worked a little over 7 hours. We got pretty slow as the day went on so I know that I walked laps around the area for at least 3 hours. I also am starting a new job tonight, and will have to clean- dust, maybe sweep or vacuum, and will have to do laundry. So, there will be some more movement there. As far as normal…

Welcome! You have come to the right spot to find encouragement. A lot of the people that I have come across are amazing at offering it! Feel free to add me.
