I have a two-part question for you that has nothing to do with food - Are your clothes feeling loser? And are you measuring yourself? I found that it took me about 2 months to lose any weight, but in that time I had lost several inches off of my frame. I don't want to offer any dietary advice as I know nothing about…

Those sound yummy! Mine would be: Stir fry (chicken and/or beef with veggies and brown rice) Fruit (specifically Bing cherries, strawberries, bananas, Honeycrisp apples, blackberries, blueberries, and watermelon) Double cheeseburger with onion rings (not something I eat much of at all now! )

This weekend I took my 5 year old daughter shopping (for her and me). While I was trying on some clothes, she asked me what the red lines were on my stomach. It was the first time that she had noticed them being there, where the fat wasn't covering them up. (The "lines" were from laparoscopies I had done 11 and 12 years…

Great pics! Congratulations on all your successes!

As others have posted, start out slow and steady. It's better to have minor victories and stay successful than to have one major victory but then retreat back to old behaviors. As this is my 3rd attempt at MFP (restarted in March of this year), I've learned this over my two failed attempts here, as well as prior attempts…

Option 2. For the slightly extra calories - there's an increased amount of protein and lower sodium and sugar.

I agree with many of the other posters - start out slow. I could barely do 5 minutes myself when I started 6 months ago, now I'm at 30 minutes (and most of the time could actually do more).

Truthfully, I don't have a particular routine. I just try to achieve 30 minutes of exercise in most days of the week. I try to hit the gym 2-3 days a week and do a combination of elliptical, bike, and/or treadmill. Otherwise I'll do some yoga, Pilates, walking, swimming, or bike riding in. And sometimes it may be something…

Like the OP, I don't have any "forbidden foods". But the one thing I will eat all of (minus the piece or two my daughter may grab) are red licorice. If I decide to indulge, I'll get one of the small bags as I know I'd eat the bulk of a large one on my own.

Congrats on your successes! I'm learning that while the scale is still helpful, my new friend is my tape measurer - and smaller sized clothes! :flowerforyou:

I don't/didn't have PCOS, but had struggled with other infertility issues, culminating in requiring a hysterectomy at age 28 (11 years ago). I have struggled with my weight during those struggles (beginning at age 25) up through now. Feel free to add me if you would like! Any of you are welcome to! And I'm always happy to…

LOL! Thanks for the laugh!

I'd agree about underestimating your caloric intake. Also, you may be retaining water if your foods have a lot of sodium in them (even salads at restaurants can have huge amounts of sodium).

^^This^^ For example, I know that I am going out to dinner tonight, so I did an extra workout this AM, and am having a nice big green salad for lunch. I saw last week that many of my choices weren't the best, but I continued to log my meals/snacks, no matter how off-kilter they were.

11 pounds for me since I restarted my journey in mid-March. But I've lost more inches than I have pounds, so I'm happy with this right now.

The Final Countdown is a great choice! Another I'd suggest is We Will Rock You by Queen, and Eye of the Tiger by Survivor.

I typically plan my foods, so if I don't eat it all, I adjust for what I didn't eat.

Congratulations! If you don't mind my asking, how long did it take you to achieve your loss? I myself am 5'2.5" SW 220 lbs CW 209 lbs GW 150 lbs (once I hit this I will reevaluate a new GW)

Lately, almost every day. But I also know why, and am working to change that this week.

I'd tend to agree. I could give up a single item for 30 days without too much of an issue, but not a whole category.

My daughter. She wants to exercise together tonight - so a walk and Pilates it will be! :)

WOW! My daughter is 5 and while she does get some sweets and chips now and then, soda is a rarity for her. She actually considers most of them "too spicy" as she's not used to the taste. She's currently at a private daycare, and will be starting kindergarten in a few weeks. She is already requesting what foods she wants in…

^^This^^ and those that "save" another machine after they're done with another one. Really?!?!? I have to wait for the one you're already on but can't use this one in the meantime????

The only foods on my no-no list are the ones that cause medical ailments (IBS, diverticulitis) in me. Other than that - everything in moderation!

For me, part of the problem had been that many bottoms (pants, jeans, and shorts) were really lose on my legs, but fit well on the waist. It made me feel larger than I truly was, and so I'd go down one size so that my legs didn't feel like they were swimming in material. But I'd also wear tops in public that would cover up…
