  • 46 years old here! MFP has been successful for me in the past, so back on the wagon again!
  • As an obese mom of a tall, thin (naturally, not due to any eating disorders or crash dieting) 11 year old daughter, I'm all for body positivity. She knows that I am attempting to lose weight due to medical diagnoses, but I never want her to think that she's too this or too that. So over time I've encouraged her to make…
  • I'm definitely interested in joining this challenge! Since I restarted MFP at the end of 2015, I weighed 267.4 pounds. As of May 28 this year, I was at 251.2 (my lowest since 2015). I am currently at 257 pounds, and need a good jumpstart to get back into motion. My lowest weight over the past 10 years or so had been around…

  • I've donated most, but kept a few items. The items I've kept are mostly tops that I can wear on "bloated" days, as well as a few special t-shirts.

  • Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I'm down 4.4 pounds so far (I had hit a slight plateau, but am losing again so I'm happy with that).
  • I'm here! I'm not as active in the groups as I once was, but I'm still around.
  • As a mom of a 5th year Girl Scout, I happily oblige in purchasing cookies from her. However I buy few if any other cookies throughout the year (though I will usually bake a lot for the Christmas holiday, however many of those are gifts). I also only purchase one box of the two varieties I like most (Samoas and Thin Mints),…

  • My children are my biggest motivators at this point. While there are other reasons I want and need to lose weight, they are by far at the top of the list! I'll be about 62 when my son graduates from high school, and I want to ensure I am here long enough to see that happen.
  • Sorry, but mine is different from many of the above. My 2 celebrity crushes from growing up in the 80's (who I think are still simply adorable) are Michael J. Fox and Tom Cruise. I like the baby-faced look...:) One more that I think is simply fine and sexy is my favorite James Bond, Pierce Brosnan.
  • Christmas music on my Pandora, coworkers talking, my keys clicking on the keyboard...
  • Good communication, enjoying each other's company, supporting each other, sharing in responsibilities (household, children, etc), being open about finances.
  • My weirdest Thanksgiving was the first one my husband and I hosted. No riots, no arguments. A food disaster though...here's my tale... I had the thought to make homemade bread for our first Thanksgiving with the breadmaker I'd gotten as a wedding gift 2 years prior. As my husband's family likes garlic, I decided to make a…
  • Holidays can be stressful, both on those hosting and those visiting. However, it's family, a part of your husband's life, so I'd say grin and bear it. What I'm confused about is the 1 hour drive. That doesn't seem very long at all. I know of others who travel 4 or more hours on the holidays to spend time with loved ones.…
  • I'm finding it difficult at times myself, and I only have one child. But one thing that has helped me exercise more - taking the dog for a walk with my daughter (unless my hubby is home, then she'll stay home). Not sure how old your kids are, but one thing my daughter enjoys is gymnastics/stretching, so we'll sometimes do…
  • I love this piece of advice! But to answer OP - nothing. I regret nothing I have paid for in regards to my healthy living journey. Like many other things in life, you may have failures along the path to success. I still continue to struggle, but the weight didn't happen overnight, and neither will it come off overnight.
  • Congratulations!
  • I love my FitBit! It helps me to do the challenges against my friends, and I love that it also monitors my sleep.
  • One of my favorite McDonald's "healthy" items is the grilled snack wrap - no dressing. Also, if you're not low protein, a bunless burger (no condiments except lettuce and/or tomato) isn't bad either. A few things avoid are the shakes, McCafe drinks (black coffee is fine), sweet tea, and anything fried. With that said, I go…
  • Lack of exercise, not being able to say no to my grandmother's cooking, becoming sedentary (in part due to medical issues), my own lack of willpower to stay focused. Even now, I continue to struggle with getting in exercise and staying focused.
  • Coconut water...veggie chips (other than potato)...powdered peanut butter...shake mixes (i.e. Isagenix, etc.)...weird oreo flavors...
  • Yes, I have had several of these done (due to gynecological issues), and it really isn't a big deal. One word of warning - make sure to drink a lot of liquid within 20-30 minutes prior to the test. They once told me to do it starting an hour before, and I ended up not making it through the test.
  • I've been in a similar boat, and right now I'm the heaviest I've ever been. I'm starting over again as well, and my biggest change this time is that I'm going to make small goals...10 pounds at a time. If you're unable to do a lot of exercise, try walking. Honestly, that's one thing I can do without feeling like I'm…
