  • Awesome! These are always inspiring to me! Thank you! :flowerforyou:
  • My first time was when I had my second surgery for "female issues" and had a difficult time getting ONTO my bed. Getting out was a challenge anyway due to the incisions, but getting into bed shouldn't have been a huge problem. That was 13 years ago. Since restarting MFP this year, I've lost 10+ inches, and 12 pounds. It's…
  • Congratulations! Since January 1st, I'm down 12.4 pounds. I have had fluctuations, and am not perfect by ANY means, but I am proud of the accomplishments I've made. Even on my "bad days", I don't eat nearly what I used to. I cannot fathom doing dieting - it may be a quick weight loss, but not a healthy weight loss. Enjoy…
  • Initially it was my first initial, middle initial, and last name. Then I started to feel better about myself I lost some inches (and a few pounds), so I'm feeling I'm rocking this body! Hence, RockinTerri....
  • Count me in! I'll aim for 50 miles!
  • Love them too! I'm going to make sure that I record ALL of the next season of TBL! :)
  • FDA standards are 2500 for sodium. I too have low blood pressure, and was under on my sodium intake. Since I've upped my sodium (most days between 200-500 over, with some days a bit higher), I've felt a lot better. I was concerned about my salt intake (bloating concerns, etc), so now if I'm having a low sodium day, I grab…
  • Both of these for me too. I may occasionally check out someone using a machine I've not yet used, to see how they use it, but that's all.
  • I like the smoothie idea. For non-liquid snacks, try some whole grain crackers or pita chips.
  • Coffee with creamer & sweeteners, and Fiber One 80 with 1% milk.
  • I don't have an HRM (as of yet, anyway), but if I think that calories seem high, I check other charts. And I do utilize the calories on my gym equipment (typically I find the calories on MFP to be about 25%-30% higher than my gym equipment). As for the whole cleaning debate, I had been logging my cleaning (heavy cleaning,…
  • As others have stated, try to maintain what MFP guidelines are set at. If you're undereating during the week, then splurging on the weekend, your body may be retaining water from the splurges. Trust me, I'm nowhere near perfect, but I try to hit my calories set. Good luck!
  • As of today, I'm at day 20 in row. I may occasionally miss the deadline point, but try my hardest to log what I can. ETA: Add me if you'd like!
  • I did Zumba for the first time earlier this year - and LOVED it! However, I developed a health setback and haven't tried it since (granted, doing it for the first time for a 2 hour Zumba-thon and not being somewhat used to regular exercise didn't help either  )
  • Leftovers, soup, salads (I try and vary them between veggies, fruits, and combo), wraps, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, tuna with whole grain noodles, frozen meals, and yes, sometimes sandwiches. As you can tell, I don't always have the same things...
  • I'd agree with this. I just bought a couple new tops and an incentive dress. While my pounds haven't greatly reduced yet, the inches have nearly equaled the pounds I've lost.
  • I'm restarting week 1 this week myself - for the 4th time. Not so much because of not being up to the intervals, but due to illnesses/injuries. Also one key - don't start it when you're about to embark on vacation! I made that mistake one time also. Good luck!
  • Billing Coordinator (fancy name for a billing clerk) for a municipal water utility. Most days I enjoy it. Every day is a new challenge or something different, as it's also a lot of customer service. Been here 7 years now, so I definitely am staying here a while!
  • For me it's about personal accountability. Yes, MFP is free whereas WW is not, but it's much easier for me to track and get daily feedback than to attend a weekly meeting. With the MFP app on my phone, I can log anywhere I am, and oftentimes get instantaneous feedback with my questions, concerns, and even my…
  • I'd tend to agree with this. However, OP is stating that it's an extra 150 each day that was unaccounted for.
  • My daughter is also 5, and she's been on more trips than I had been on by the time I was married! My first trip out of the continental US was to the Bahamas when I was 25. My first trip farther east was to London and Paris when I was 31.
  • I wholeheartedly agree with the above. While many on this thread are aiming at her weight, how many are seeing that she had no one to turn to growing up? Both her parents were focused on appeasing her dad, and expected the same of her. She could have turned anorexic, tried to commit suicide, become full of rage. This was…
  • I typically log in the AM for what I have planned, and then adjust as needed. For exercise, I usually log after I'm done, unless it's a definite, such as a charity walk or a fitness class. Today I didn't bring much with me to work though, so I'm logging as I go, since I know what dinner will be.
  • ^^This^^ Last night I read 2 1/2 chapters of my book while working out, and got benefits from both. I lost .8 pounds during that workout, got my body moving, and used my time efficiently.
  • First time around - I had lost a bit of weight with some medication, and felt a little better. Then some medical issues reoccurred, so the pounds came back on. This time around - I just started eating healthier and exercising, and realized how great I feel. More energy, less health problems, the ability to do more. And my…
  • As a parent myself, I know that my daughter gets nutritional foods into her everyday. But kids enjoy mac & cheese, pb&j sandwiches, spaghetti, chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, pizza, chips, ice cream. I try to get her a healthy balance between "kid-friendly" foods and healthy foods. On a side note, when I recently made…
  • I didn't plan breakfast this AM (went to bed last night without doing it and woke up too late to make what I REALLY wanted - a homemade smoothie), so it was an egg white delight. Sigh.... My typical breakfast options during the week are: Homemade smoothie (greek yogurt, 1% milk, and fruits - especially berries!) Oatmeal…
