Love JM Yoga Meltdown! I can't do lifting due to an injury, but I could see that it could be an asset to add something with flexibility such as yoga into your routine.

Sadly, that's not 100% true. You can also gain weight by not eating enough. That happened to me at one point in my life - I ate like a bird. No, I wasn't anorexic, I was depressed. I also gained 10 pounds in one month strictly from medicine. I know that because after I was removed from the medicine and NOTHING ELSE CHANGED…

My root causes of why I gained weight - Larger food portions (thanks to my grandmother, who had huge plates of delicious food waiting for me when I got home from work at 10 or 11pm - and you didn't throw out grandma's food!) Fast food convenience Lack of exercise (walking to fast food places for lunch plus the little I got…

I tend to plan out most of my meals/snacks for during the week. I log my planned foods in the AM, and then adjust as needed. I'm currently doing a challenge through my wellness program at work where we need to eat a certain number of foods from varying food groups - proteins, grains, fruits, veggies, dairy, and healthy…

I mix it with crushed or diced pineapple, and have with some protein for a great breakfast!

Me, myself, and I!

Yes, I tend to eat back most of the exercise calories, though I'm going to try and scale it back to 1/2.

I haven't had any in awhile, but I used to get an Arizona Diet Green Tea with Ginseng. No calories, and while there were some artificial sweeteners, it didn't taste syrup sweet.

- Grilled chicken salad - Taco salad (I use 1-2 cups of spinach or lettuce, topped with about 2 or 3 ounces of cooked ground turkey seasoned with taco seasoning, a tbsp. of shredded cheese, and scallions - you could also add tomatoes, black olives, and/or a dab of sour cream) - Homemade soup and wrap sandwiches - egg white…

Kallie - Advice does come in all forms, and sometimes it is hard to hear the advice through negativity. I know, as it was hard for me at first too. That said, in order to achieve your goals and be successful, you do need something to measure your progress. A scale would definitely be one of the best ways, but there are…

I have kind of a similar set-up - only mine is my retro-pay from last year. In the next 11 months, I have to hit a certain goal or my retro-pay goes to paying down our home improvement loan. If I meet it, I get to that money for a whole new wardrobe!

The short answer is Yes. However, it truly depends on if you can handle it or not. I know some that can be satisfied with a piece of candy or a scoop of ice cream; and then I know some that have one and cannot stop. I myself fall closer to the first type, though it's best for me to plan out my day early so I know if I have…

As others have mentioned, don't get discouraged. It's a process, this journey of healthy living. And yes, while I do agree (and do myself) the "if it fits in your macros" approach, I have noticed that I can't eat junk foods as often anymore. It tends to make me feel sluggish, and I don't have the motivation I used to. And…

I do this. I measure out my foods the night before or in the morning before heading to work. It makes it much easier for me to get the accuracy (whether it be weighing or using measurements). When I do have something at work that isn't pre-portioned, I do estimate or look up the item (example, a certain brand of something…

I put in whatever international delight or coffeemate creamer I happen to have, as well as either sweet-n-low or splenda, and some coffee grinder spices from Trader Joe's. I know that there are healthier ways of sweetening up my coffee (and better creams or milk too), but I have a cup or two every couple of days or so, not…

Chives! I put it into many of my dishes. Close second - sea salt. I'm not a fan of the sodium tasting table salt, but sea salt doesn't have that same flavor to me.

Great way to look at it! A digital food scale is on my Christmas wish list, so I'll see if I get that then, otherwise I'll invest in one after. My current goal is step one, I'll refine it to my final goal (right now anyway).

I like looking at thrift shops for clothes while I'm in transition. I also peruse the clearance racks at some of my favorite stores, and sometimes find better deals there than at the thrift shops! Once I hit my goal weight, I have money set aside to go buy all new clothes for myself. I also am part of a clothing chain with…

I've been having some of those same issues myself - it's just so convenient. Here's what I'm going to start doing though beginning this weekend (no options of FF today or tomorrow for me anyway): 1. Make up some healthy "sliders" that I can grab for lunches 2. Cut up and pre-portion out healthy sides and snacks 3. Allot…

A few friends and I have a "clothing train" - I get clothes my best friend has "undergrown", I pass on clothes I have undergrown to another friend and my sister-in-law, who then pass them on to other friends/family. And what none of us are able to wear, I'm putting aside for either Goodwill or my church's rummage sale next…

I agree with the donation suggestions. In addition to a food bank or soup kitchen, what about a women's/children's shelter? I also know that there are dentists in our area that will allow a trade-in of candy for toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss. You could see if any in your area have that, and donate those items to a…

Grilled cheese with dill pickle slices grilled right in with a lime ice-cream soda (delicious!) Cottage cheese and pepper Bacon dipped in syrup Peanut butter in coffee (haven't had that in a while...may have to plan that one day again....)

I hope you'll be okay! Sounds frightening!

This. And this poster is right - we all have setbacks. But the damage that can happen from this starving then binging is more than just the initial weight gain/loss - it can cause an eating disorder (or be caused by one). If you've had instances like this In the past, you should speak with your doctor.

I agree with this. If she wasn't ready to be a parent and got pregnant, there is another option - adoption.

Definitely a Sisyphus here! Hoping to achieve Wife-and-Mother with a touch of Fit-as-Frak someday though!

This is perfect! I was looking for some additional motivation - my friends and connections are all great and wonderful and inspiring, but I've become a bit stagnant recently. Knowing a pound for pound challenge will benefit those in need, I'll kick it in gear!

Grilled on my Foreman - add to salads or make chicken salad. Stir-fried with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and/or green beans. In the slow cooker - mixed with BBQ sauce or with veggies. Those are a few of the ways I make mine! :)
