  • Update: I have now lost 106 lbs. Feeling so great. It's definitely become a struggle since I am now able to eat enough to overeat again. I'm 20 lbs from my goal. I'm finding that it's really hard to lose these last 20 lbs, but either way I look and feel great. I just got married in September and have since gained 5 lbs!…
  • Hey there! I am 5'4'', 140 lbs. I am 20 lbs from my goal. I am mad because in September, I was 15lbs away. I got married in September and I think I got a little too comfortable with the fact that I am no longer working toward getting married! Since June 2014, I have lost a total of 106 lbs! These last 20 are definitely the…
  • Thank you for all of the positive responses. I do feel great. I did have the surgery, and with very little complication. It has truly helped me. Exercise and calorie restriction has never really been a problem for me since I began this lifestyle change, however eating the right things has always been a problem. Choosing…
  • Thanks, yes I did.
  • Progress pic - 67 lbs lost total.
  • I am currently in my hospital bed. I had my surgery yesterday, 7/22/2014. Still in quite a but of pain, but I truly believe this is the key to reaching my goal of 120 lbs. I always.fought with being a little over-weight since I was in first grade. I started my first.diet in 8th grade and became a healthy weight. I went up…
  • Good job to you, too!!
  • Everyone is free to their opinions, but my choice has been made. It has been a long, hard road getting to the point of actually scheduling my surgery. I have been thinking about doing this for a couple of years and have been actively working toward this goal for over 9 months. Not to be rude, but nowhere in this post did I…
  • It's not impossible. I have done a lot to get where I am. I actually started out at 246 lbs, but I've lost this amount of weight a couple of times in the past and have continued an upward trend in weight. I've been battling this all of my life and I've decided to take more extreme measures to help ensure success. As I said…
  • I know what you mean! I've been here/done this before. It's just another tool for success. It's very hard to lose over 100 lbs by diet and exercise alone. It will still be hard with surgery, but I believe it's the extra push I need to take me to my goal. I've thought it over a lot. It is not a decision I've come to lightly.
  • Thanks! I'm trying very hard!!
  • I meant to add in my early comment that I had begun strength training and I must sympathize with what you said regarding feeling a bit ridiculous about it. One day I decided not to do sit ups because I didn't want people to see my struggle with it in all of my fatness, but the next day I was determined to do it anyway. We…
  • I haven't been at the gym long either, but I've started strength because muscles burn calories. This is something I have failed to do in previous attempts to lose weight. I think that was one thing missing.
