I'm in Perth. Bring on spring tomorrow. I can't wait for it to get hot again so I can flash my guns at the world.

Without a doubt!

I just started Life after Life by Kate Atkinson. I am taking it slow as I have finished reading all her other stories so once this is done there won't be another Last two books were The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty which was excellent, and before that the Rosie Project by Graeme Simison about an man with Aspergers…

Yep. Lifting made me massive too.

That turn of phrase made me laugh so hard. This entire thread is comedy gold.

It helps me manage stress. To lift weights you need a lot of positive mental attitude - I am strong and I can do this runs through my head before attempting a PB. This spills over to the rest of my life and makes me feel empowered. It also helps that I feel great because I think I look great and it makes me laugh when I…

Love it.

I have been lifting weights for a year and now I am very strong. I squated my bodyweight on Monday (yay) I ditched alcohol since April and now am at goal weight. I am now a size 10UK ,as opposed to the size 14 I was in March. I feel great. I don't run at all as weights are more fun. I can't thank enough, the ladies that…

Well I had previously considered myself to be very clever., but all the shout out threads are making me feel like a massive fool as I just don't understand :s

I have been married for one month. The dude I married has been with me for the previous 22 years. Does this count?

At the moment I am reading The hangman's daughter. Interesting. Last month I read the Infernal devices series by Cassandra Claire and the latest Robin Hobb book. I am midway through Cloud Atlas, but am not feeling the love for it. I blame seeing the film first .

I'm from Perth too. Have been very slack with mfp logging for the past few months but feeling motivated to get uber fit and actually run the City to surf this year (as opposed to walk/run effort of last year).

Excellent books I have read this year - Wool short story series by Hugh Howey - Angelfall (Penryn and the end of the days) by Susan Ee - Raven's Shadow by Anthony Ryan - Oryx and Crake and the Year of the Flod by Margaret Atwood - I am Legend by Richard Matheson I have read so much but those were standouts that haven't…

I just finished a great book yesterday. Angefall (Penryn and the end of days) by Susan Ee. It is apparently YA fiction but don't let that put you off. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. Thankfully it was relatively short and I am a very fast reader. The only downside is that it is obviously…

Thanks for taking the time to share this. Really interesting and useful.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was a bit non plussed with Deadline but there was a great twist at the end and made book 3 in the series a great read despite the distinct lack of zombies in a zombie themed book. Yesterday I read I, Zombie by Hugh Howie (who wrote the excellent Wool series) which was written from the…

Flipping between Deadline by Mira Grant (2nd in series politcal thriller set in zombie environment - not as good as first book but plodding on) and Ulitmate Leadership by Russell Palmer (very good considering it was a free kindle book and is textbooky read). When those are finished I will move onto On the Beach by Neville…

I can tell you whatever you want to know about resources law and climate change law. Not many people do want to know but at least I am paid well for trhis I am also an amazing cook according to people that eat what I serve. This does not pay well.

That was a great book. Slow takeoff but thrilling end. Currently reading Feed by Mira Grant. Not fab but not dire.

Congratluations. What a fantastic effort. It is so amazing when you look back to see where you started from and how strong your body has become.

If it not working at the moment Randy I don't blame you for ditchin the running plan. Well done to Riskay and Andrea. Finished my W6 D1 today which was two sets out 10 minute runs with a 5 minute walk in between. It went well. No really mental barriers except frustration that my ipod decided it wanted to replay songs…

Week 5 Day 3 completed. I must bedoing a completely different program as my run today was warm up, 8 minute run, 4 minute walk, 8 minute run then cool down rather the straight 20 minute run that I have heard so much about - or is that is Day 3 of Week 6. Good run I was completely in the zone today. The only downer was that…

Just finished I am Legend by Richard Matheson. I was a bit dubious as I thught the movie was a rubbish version of 28 Days later. BUt it was totally awesome especially as it was written back in 1958. Scratching around now trying to find something decent to read on my kindle.

W4D3 completed today. I was scheduled to do it Friday but I had a day off work so didn't make it into the gym. Then I went I skating on Fridya night and did a major face plant and landed heavily on my knee so I decided to give it a rest for the weekend (my and just walk rather than run. Today was a very good run both…

Yes I have read all other Terry Goodkind books which is why I was looking forward to the First Confessor. Unfortunately I wasn't in the mood for the grinding misery so have abandonded it for the time being. I have moved on to the oh-so-much-cheerier World War Z by Max Brooks.

I am getting married in March 2013. In theory I am meant to be losing weight but the scales aren't agreeing with me at the moment. On the positive side my measuring tape says something different. Really must get organised for the event. All that I have done is book the venue and buy a dress. Eep

At the moment I run on a treadmill as it is more convenient for me. So I don't suffer a major shock to the system when I do start running outside I always set the tredmill to a 0.5 or 1% gradient as I have heard that this really helps.

<--- Oh dear. I am wearing brown top and black pants in this photo. I didn't realise it was nun attire.

Since I started c5k a few weeks ago my calf muscles have been constantly aching. Sometimes less. Sometime more. I just take magnesuim and glucosamine daily, use the foam roller when it is particularly bad (as well as ibuprofen) and just keep on going. I am 40 and have put it partly down to age and muscles not recovering as…
