Handstands and handbalances - share your story.
Handstands are pretty cool and seem to cut across many exercise disciplines from yoga and gymnastics to Crossfit. I am still a newbie on the handbalance scene but i love seeing what other people are up to, from the beginners to the people that defy gravity. Here are my efforts. I would love to see other peoples :)

She logged into MFP 1000 days in a row – what happened will AMAZE you
Well “amaze” is a bit a of hyperbole as the results were not that dramatic in comparison to other success stories, but I have logged in for 1000 days today and figured a story would be a good way to mark the day.. I first joined MFP in 2012 when I had recently turned 40 and my lifetime of being allergic to exercise had…

Rollcall for current and active Aussie MFPers
Seeing as it is start of a new year and there is bound to be an influx of new members or old members looking to get started again I thought it would be good to start a new list of current and active Aussie members so new members can find people in the same time zone and use the same measurements (which is not always easy).…

Signs that you are playing far too much Fallout 4
You know when you are spending too much gaming when you go to the hardware store and stumble across the duct aisle and mentally celebrate the you have finally found enough adhesive and you can finally upgrade your weapons. Then you realise that this is real life and while duct tape certainly is useful, there is no need to…

Motto's for life
I have three motto's for life that I always try to remember when the events of everyday living gets on top of me - you are strong, you have got this - good words, good intent, good deeds - all knowledge is worth is having. You are strong and you have got this is the mantra you need to say in your head when you are lifting…

Good intermediate weightlifting program
I am rapidly approaching the end of the Advanced Lifting Program of Strong Curves and am doing some research of what to do next. I have done some of the New Rules for Lifting for Women but it all got too complicated. I know it would be easy to just move into Starting Strength or Strong Lifts but I have concerns that the…

Is weightlifting bad for children?
I have lots of weights around the house and this evening my 8 year picked up some 2kg dumbbells and was having a go, which I totally supported, but her dad told her to put them down as it was bad for children to lift weights. He couldn't really offer a reason why, just that it is bad. So I ask the question, how is it bad…

Vascularity
Is this a good thing? My lower arms are quite veiny at the moment and I can't work out if I like it or not. Is this down to weight lifting and lowering body fat? Or is it actually something I should be aiming for?

Sore wrist after lifting
Last couple of times I have had a weight lifting session I have had a very sore wrist post workout. What would causing this and what is the best way to fix it so I can keep on lifting? Having a non functional wrist really limits the exercises that I can do especially weighted squats and deadlifts so any…

What has MFP taught you
I learnt that lifting heavy weights is awesome. My friends are addicted to quest bars and I will probable cave in and joined the addiction. I have some awesome people on my FL (despite the quest bar problem) No one really knows what eating clean really is. What have you learnt since joining the MFP community?

Pole Dancing Classes?
Today there was a groupon type deal in my local area for pole dancing classes. In a moment of madness I decided that it sounded like a fabulous idea/offer. Now the thrill of the purchase has worn off I am deciding whether to actually do the classes or regift to someone far younger and more flexible than myself. For those…

Week 1 Day 3
Ouch. I didn't want to run today but the girls at work talked me into it. It really hurt :( But the hurtiness was due to a crazy exercise day yesterday where I pushed my body to the limit with non running activities. I could work out what part I hated more - the walking which made my shins hurt or the running which made my…
