What has MFP taught you

I learnt that lifting heavy weights is awesome.
My friends are addicted to quest bars and I will probable cave in and joined the addiction.
I have some awesome people on my FL (despite the quest bar problem)
No one really knows what eating clean really is.

What have you learnt since joining the MFP community?

1.) That people ask about kik way too much.
2.) To memorize what foods are okay to have :)
3.) That burn... MUST have... Fitness is fun.

I learned to think before I eat. That's probably the best thing I learned from MFP :)

    1. self control ( I feel guilty when log unhealthy food or eating too much or doing no work outs)
    2. it was much easier to return to MMA after 13 years
    3. nutritions in the food (sometimes i expected healthy food and am surprised by high level of sugar or sodium)

...that i have a deathbox in my kitchen.

...that crossfit will kill you (literally!).

...that pop tart ice cream sammiches are not a figment of my imagination.

...that MFP actually stands for MyFlirtingPlace or MyFoodPhobia depending on which forum you're in.

...that there is more derp in the universe that scientists previously believed possible (Einstein clearly made a mistake in his calculations).

That there is way too much incorrect information and far too many people fall pray to the 'quick fix'. There really is no magic bullet - eat less, move more and get rest.

And that you can make friends in the online world

I have learned that there is a whole community of amazingly dedicated people on here who have acheived amazingly well, probably in areas besides weight loss too. It is daunting and awe inspiring as I try to lose my wimpy few pounds. Also there are some great women hitting the gym and lifting, and doing other cool stuff. For my personal lessons: The concept of being honest with yourself (logging is a good thing) and not to be too hard on yourself. One mistake is not an excuse to throw in the towel and eat like crap.

well it is if you have your stats set as "lazy" as I do, but I don't log it so it's all good.

    What has MFP taught you:

That there is a ton of misinformation on the MFP boards about nutrition and exercise.
That there are people willing to try the most bizarre diets in an effort to "jump start" their weight loss.
That there are a lot of posters who spend way too much time posting on the repetitive threads in the chit-chat forum.

That said, I like MFP for the ability it's given me to stay honest about my eating habits and it's been a huge part of my weight loss and getting healthy.
