  • I'm not the best person to answer this but if I had to guess, maybe you're just eating too much of the healthy food? Even healthy food has calories.
  • This is the best running advice I got when I first started running: "Run until you're tired, walk until you're bored." With that in mind I'd set a course around the neighborhood for about 2 miles. I ran until I needed a break, walked until I was bored, ran until I needed a break... etc. When the walks became shorter and…
  • I am. I usually eat about 300 for breakfast, 400 for lunch, and up to 300-500 for dinner, depending how much I snacked during the day.
  • 1. I exercise 6 days per week, but nothing strenuous. I do a 30-minute DVDs (pilates or light weight training) 6 days per week and add a 3-mile run to that 3-4 days per week. 2. I am counting my calories as best as I can. It's not 100% accurate, but I'd have to have been off by 22,000 to account for the 3 pound gain I'm…
  • I was just coming here to ask this very question. I have spent a small fortune on sports bras and nothing works for me. I have an Enell, Moving Comfort, Under Armour, and various Champions. I've tried compression and encapsulated. Nothing works. I was literally in tears on the treadmill last night and really only see two…
  • I can't really eat any junk food in moderation. If there is any type of cake, cookie, brownie, ice cream, pizza, or salty snack in the house, I will eat it until it's gone. Once I start I get this crazy, "might as well finish it... gotta get it out of the house" mentality.
  • I generally dislike gyms, but they do have one thing going for them: climate control. If it's a hundred degrees outside and a million degrees in my un-air-conditioned apartment, I'll probably go to the gym. Same goes for the cold in the winter.
  • I felt like a huge failure 3 minutes into day 1 of the 30-Day Shred. It started with the push-ups, of which I could do NONE. I couldn't move, sit, stand, nor breathe comfortably for a full week after. But then I tried it again a week later. I was able to a little bit more than the last time. I did it everyday for the next…
  • Ran 5.5 miles this morning.
  • Ran 3.75 miles this morning.
  • This is the most helpful "diet" web site I've ever stumbled upon: www.getdrunknotfat.com It grades alcoholic drinks based on the ratio of calories to alcohol. Enjoy!
  • They have a spicy black bean dip which is not actually very spicy but incredibly flavorful. I spread it on pretty much anything that might ordinarily taste bland or diety on its own.
  • It's probably a good rule of thumb not to eat below your BMR if you're already at a healthy weight, but your organs are not going to starve to death if you have 100 pounds of fat on your body to feed them.
  • Check out the Pretty Darn Quick Vegetarian Cookbook. Loads of quick and easy recipes with nutrition info broken down for you. I personally like to make a big pot of veggie chili on Sunday to last through the week. I wing the recipe (2-3 cans of whatever beans I have lying around, some chopped peppers and onions, crushed…
  • You should, because when you eat back those calories you'll still have a calorie deficit and still lose weight. I tend to think that MFP overestimates the number of calories burned with exercise, though, so I rarely eat back the full amount.
  • This community is so very strange. I am very small lady under all this extra weight (5'0" on a tall day with small-ish bones, judging by my tiny fingers and wrists.) If I were to net 2000 calories/day like so many of you Google-trained pseudo-doctor types keep screaming at me to do, I'd gain weight. A lot of it. I've been…
  • I have a brand new (tags still on it) Enell bra if anyone in the U.S. wants it for cheap. I bought it on Amazon a couple of months ago and forgot to return it before time ran out. There's nothing wrong with it... just a little bit big for me. Not sure of the exact size (I'll check it when I get home) but it was intended to…
  • It's because in the later episodes they're wearing Spanx under their clothes to make them look smaller and tighter.
  • I weigh myself every morning just because I'm afraid not to. I've lost and re-gained weight countless times in recent years and I can always track the start of my weight (re-)gain to the day that I stopped stepping on a scale. It's too easy for me to eat recklessly if I'm not going to hold myself accountable with a…
  • I feel your pain. I always hear/read about people recording huge losses in the first couple of weeks and then normalizing to 1-2 pounds/week. I've hardly lost anything at all in my first month, and this is supposed to be the big loss time? It's especially frustrating because I gained 15 pounds so quickly (only 4 months)…
  • I feel silly with such a low goal compared to everyone else... but, I plan to run 40 miles in February.
  • Organized races are so much fun! I was really afraid to do a race because I always feel like people are watching/judging/laughing at me when I'm exercising in public (I'm sure some of you can relate?!) But it's so nice to have strangers cheering me on whether I'm running, jogging, walking, or crawwwwwling toward the finish…
  • I tried a few different C25K programs and ended up quitting after 2-3 weeks because I could never get into the rhythm of it. And I wasn't a fan of pushing myself just to meet an arbitrary goal, either. Instead, I started run/walking at my own pace using the "run 'till you're tired, walk 'til you're bored, run 'til you're…
  • Day 1 kicked my butt so hard that I had to take a full week off to recover. I couldn't walk, stand, sit, or even lie down comfortably! But I picked it up again a week later and have done it everyday for the past 3 weeks without any soreness. However... After about 4 days on level 1, I noticed that my knees hurt when I…
  • 145 (Starting weight) 132 (current weight) 127 (End of August goal) 110 (Goal goal) 08/01/2012: 132.0 08/08/2012: 131.6 -0.4 Doesn't look like I'm gonna make it.
