Yup, soldiers out in Iraq have had problems with it apparently. Heavy work in hot sun meant they were sweating tons, drinking tons and were flushing all the salt and stuff out of their bodies. Hubby told me he was made to drink water with salt added to it at one point out there

I've done the same thing. It's much easier to drink 1 bottle of water than 4 glasses for some reason. Apparently I have my mums bad habit of drinking nowhere near enough each day so I started off by making myself drink 1 litre a day. Then I upped it to 1 and a half litres a day. Now I'm up to 2 litres a day which works out…

I hated water when I started this too. I've been forcing myself to drink it though and I actually don't mind it now. I'm about 5 weeks in and this week I've had no problems drinking the recommended amount of water. I wouldn't say I actually LIKE water now, it's bland and boring, but I've got so used to drinking it that…

I fill up on veggies. Instead of say 2 chicken breasts with potatoes and veg for dinner I'll have one chicken breast, less potato and extra veg. That way I don't feel like I've got a tiny little portion while my husband tucks in to a full plate. I eat boiled potatoes instead of fries most of the time, have gone from 2…

I've been guilty of saying the gym one but it wasn't meant as a put down. I've tried it and I STILL don't understand how some people can go at daft o clock in the morning and manage to get through the day without falling asleep on their feet. I'm just sooooooo not a morning person lol, getting up early leaves me exhausted…

I have someone on my friends list whose goal weight is my starting weight which I actually found quite cool.

I had a dream a few years ago where my house got invaded by serial killer clowns that only came up to my knees. They killed my whole family and then chased me round the house throwing buckets of blood at me. Not long ago I had a dream that I was in a rehab place for sex addicts :noway: and a guy I used to have a crush on…

I also need to lose 20lbs by tomorrow. In fact, sod the 20lbs, I wanna lose 80lbs by tomorrow please! Hope you have a great trip

I don't think you're hideously ugly at all. Far from it. And I'm glad someone mentioned Jonathan Davis, it's been bugging me all through the thread who you reminded me of. I've been bullied due to looks and/or weight at various times throughout my life. Has it bothered me? In some ways yes but in other ways no. For as long…

I have several friends who have been or still are drug addicts. Are their parents to blame? Some of them, yes I think they are partly to blame. Others though...no way. Peer pressure got most of the addicts I know started on the slippery slope to addiction in their teen years. Everyone else was doing it so they did it too…

Completely different question there  It's a difficult one to answer. Me and my hubby have delayed starting a family until our financial situation is better. As I've said to him though, if I get pregnant despite taking precautions then I will not get rid of the baby in any way. However, we're not in a position where…

This is why you should always use the same scale every time you weigh yourself. My parents scales show a different weight to mine and my doctors shows a differenet weight to both mine and my parents. If your scales are what you used to start and track your weight loss then carry on using those and don't worry about what…

Circumstances change. Some people will have children when they can afford to provide for them but then something happens and they need a little help in providing for themselves and their family. Death, illness, disasters, loss of a job etc aren't something you can really plan for.

If I were still at my job as security where I was rushing around from 8am until 6:30pm I would have described my lifestyle as active. But I wouldn't have logged the 4-5 hours of running out to the barrier to ID and sign in people in cars as exercise. Nor would I have logged patrols or the 2 mile walk to and from work or…

This. Apparently I have a large frame because my fingers don't meet.but before I gained the weight they overlapped which means a small frame. Not a very accurate measure at all imo.

Other than a cup of tea in the morning and one in the evening water is usually all I drink. And I HATED it at first, it was bland and didn't taste good and I didn't want it but after 4 weeks it's growing on me. I'm finding it easier and easier to drink enough as the days go by. I don't like lemon either so that's never…

Mine used to overlap, now they don't even touch if I squeeze hard. Doubt I went from a small frame to a large frame, I just got fat. At 140lbs I was in a UK size 10 jeans. They were too loose at the waist but a size 8 was way too small for my hips. I could have stood to lose more weight so not sure how it would have come…

Are you measuring your servings? If not that could be your downfall, most people REALLY over estimate how much a serving of something is. And yeah, the heavier you are the more calories you get. 1200 isn't enough for everyone regardless of size. I'm losing weight eating between 1300 and 1600 a day, MFP gives me 1600.
-
I personally don't think it matters and if I'm going out for a meal I do what you do and save as many calories as I can for it without skipping a meal. I used to work shifts and ate at really odd times some days and it didn't affect my weight loss.
-
I purposely save some calories for something to eat around 11pm because I'm genuinely hungry then and if I go to bed hungry I will wake up after a couple of hours and be unable to get back to sleep because my stomach feels like it's eating itself. So then I'd have to get up and get something to eat and chances are it…

Stick to veggies? I don't like fruit OR veg, I just make myself eat them. There are some I dislike less than others though so usually choose those ones.

While I'm skeptical that cancer can be cured simply by healthy eating I do think that what we eat can help with illnesses. I've cured abscesses with garlic and orange and use garlic as a flea and tick repellent for the dog. My dog gets bad skin and ear infections if fed cereals so is fed a food that's free of those things.…

I do the same, my money argument was about organic foods being so much more expensive than non organic, I'm talking more than double the price. Buying non organic fresh meat, veg, fruit etc and making my own meals I have found cheaper than buying pre-packaged stuff. The food tastes better too. And if I make a cottage pie…

I seriously doubt you'll lose 5lbs a week to be honest. Where has he got this idea that you should be losing 5lbs every week anyway? They say up to 2lbs a week is healthy, I wouldn't even aim for more than that. As for "cheat" meals, it's never seemed to cause me problems to have one day a week where I'm more lenient about…

I never got used to it. It didn't matter whether I went to bed at 9pm or 1am getting up at 5am left me exhausted all day. I did that for 5 years. I used to go to the gym on my days off and just walk for exercise on days I worked.
-
I have dinner around 5pm and by 11pm I'm genuinely hungry again. I save calories for something to eat then so that I can sleep. If I went to bed hungry I'd wake up after a couple of hours and be unable to get back to sleep until I'd eaten. I don't believe that eating past a certain time causes weight gain.

Unfortunately not all of us are lucky enough to live anywhere near a shop that sells organic food at a reasonable price. I am NOT paying £4 for a bottle of milk when I can buy non organic for £1.70 I'm afraid. Organic eggs, fruits and veggies are also much more expensive than non organic. Healthier or not I simply can't…

Depends on the problem to be honest. I didn't complain when I got a pizza with the wrong topping but the waiter had come up, told me the chef had messed up and gave me the option of waiting for a fresh pizza to be made and taking the wrong one home free of charge or just eating the wrong one. I chose to eat it as it was…
