I agree with the peanut butter suggestion - protein possibly with saltines or celery. A baked potato with cottage cheese. Also, a glass of orange juice.

All I can say is go with what your doctor says. I had a co-worker once who was severely anorexic and was in serious, serious denial. So, a check with the doc can't hurt.

I think that mfp is a no-fail site. There will be days when you don't stay within the weight loss calorie limit but if you stick with the program and keep logging your food you will see results. My suggestion is to set up your goals to lose around a pound a week because you get a bit more food every day. I noticed how much…

I get migraines and I usually wake up with them. There can be lots of reasons for them. I suggest checking with your doctor AND your dentist. If you clench your teeth at night you can trigger a headache. The migraines have very specific symptoms before they hit so I usually know when one is coming. Other headaches can be…

I'm sorry you are hurting so much. I've never been in your situation but I know it has to hurt. I think you are doing really well to understand your emotions and reach out for support. Sometimes our journey back to health and happiness is a two steps forward, one step backward kind of thing and sometimes it feels like you…

I have two votes here: 1. It's as much of a waste to eat it if you don't need it (throw it out). 2. If you know you could use it later; freeze it (keep it). Eat it but drink lots of water and include it in your meal plans (keep it). Looks like keep it win.

If all you can do is record what you eat; start with that and drinking your water.

You can also check out free exercise dvd's from your public library. You can also walk in place, or up and down stairs, or walk outside. If you have cable you can watch exercise shows as well. Also, you could look into used fitness equipment on craigslist or your local "play it again' store or thrift shop,

I think a one day break is a great idea. Go for it and enjoy the day. This is a lifetime change and you have to allow yourself a break now and then. Thin people also eat more on holidays...

Great job! I tried for 30 years to lose weight on every program imaginable and never made it past 3 weeks. This program's different and the people here are wonderful. I know you can do it.

I'm working hard to free myself from obsessing over the numbers on the scale. If the number will make you stress out don't weigh yourself because stress can change your metabolism and make you gain weight - it's true - someone gave me some articles on it. Do you have other ways to measure your health and fitness. What non…

Welcome back. Putting ourselves first is always difficult; but if we can do it - we become happier and more relaxed which will make everyone around us happier too. If you want good reasons to put yourself first read the "Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin which talks about this.

If you eat too few calories you will not lose weight. Better to stick to the plan. How manly calories we get also depends on how fast we want to lose weight. I in my50's and rather sedentary due to an office job and I get more calories than your wife. I lose around a pound every 10 days; which makes me happy. I'm betting…

I'm no doctor but you gain a lot of water while pregnant and you are flooded with hormones which will mess up your weight loss too. Really, if you get through the 9 months with a small gain you will be doing really well and the weight will fall off quickly after the baby is born.

I think it only happens if you lose really quickly.

Hello: I would like to join the list. I'm 58, I have lost 7 pounds since the end of September and I'm extremely happy about it. This is the first program that has ever worked for me long term. Usually, I quit after 3 weeks. I stuck with it and am going strong. It makes me very happy.

I was never successful until I came here - this really works. What I like most is that it is so flexible.

I think your plan is genius. I like it that nothing is set in stone - it's so easy to forget that. Good job.

There's a fair amount of salt in ice cream. So I bet you are retaining water.

I think you need some "me time" Tell everyone that you are running errands and then head out to the gym by yourself.

To be proactive about being happy.

I once read in an essay that fat does not thrive in an atmosphere of happiness. The more we criticize ourselves the more we struggle to lose. Let happiness in - happiness with who you are, happiness with what is right with you. You are a lovely woman, I know because I saw your picture. I know 13 pounds can seem a drop in…

I get up early and plan my eating for the entire day then enter it. Since I have already entered it I stick to the plan, which keeps me on track. Works for me with exercise too, once I enter it I'm committed to doing it.

I'm not a doctor but I have had knee problems. A second opinion is always a good idea if the problem has continued for quite some time. Also, what about trying swimming, or water aerobics if your pt gives you the okay.

Try to keep your shopping to the outside aisle of the store. You'll find milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, juice, cheese, meats, poultry, seafood,, bakery, and fruits and vegetables, around the outside. Do you like quiche, or omelets? How about some boneless, skinless chicken breasts and vegetables for a stir fry? You…

If your parents were born in the 1950's or 60's they might have unconsciously passed that belief to you because that was the thinking back then. It sounds like it might be time for you to step out of your comfort zone. Be brave and give yourself a chance. You will see positive results.

I've been looking at some of the research on bullying and for a long time the obese kids were the ones that have been bullied. I wouldn't be surprised to see a backlash against the thinner kids.
