For the past three days I have gotten off the bus one stop early before work to get some extra steps in (and hit my 10,000 step goal yesterday!). I also have been going for walks on my lunch break almost every day as well.

I try to leave my house a bit early and I get off the bus a stop or two early depending on how much time I have before work. It was/is for-real asthma (diagnosed). I still have it, but the symptoms are better and exercise doesn't trigger it as much unless the air is really cold.

Fish and lentils are two other good protein sources (protein helps you stay feeling full).

Hey, I'm in Vancouver so we don't get the really cold winters but we get a LOT of pouring rain. When I'm stuck inside I either do bodyweight exercises (squats, pushups etc), yoga or workout DVD's like the Jillian Michaels ones.

I have the book and the app. I haven't been using them recently but I found using them together worked well back when I was doing it.

Someone mentioned beans for protein which I second. Also, lentils...they are quite tasty and also have protein. Cook some up, throw some spices on it and mix it into your rice along with some veggies and you'll have a pretty balanced meal. Sound slike you definitely need more veggies too!

Tonight I'm going to sautee onions and peppers, and add them to heated up refried beans and then dump some salsa and shredded cheese (Daiya fake cheese for me since I'm allergic) and mix that all up. Kind of like a meatless and tortilla-less taco bowl.

I agree with all of the above. I also suggest buying a bottle of sriracha if you like a bit of a kick. It really adds a lot of flavor to food that might otherwise be kind of boring (like rice).

Fruit is a great option if you crave something sweet like I do. Berries, pineapple, cantaloupe. Sometimes I will mix with some greek yogurt if I need something a little more substantial or am craving creaminess.
