• https://www.fitbit.com/user/3RZTMT feel free to add me! Had my Flex for about a month, but been on MFP for years. I'm pretty good about hitting my step goals (11,000) so if you add me to a challenge, watch out! ;-) Did you know you can order different styles and colours of bands from Ebay for really cheap? Like less than…
• I've been doing Les Mills classes at the gym since April. I do BodyPump three nights a week, with also throwing in Combat, Attack, step and CX Worx (not sure if that's LM or not). Don't be intimidated by the pumpers! I started off light (no one will say anything negative about your weights) and have worked my way up quite…
• I also have decided to stop with the alcohol during the week. I love my wine but it lowers my control around snacking. Plus, all I've read about alcohol and weight loss is that your body will burn the alcohol before it burns the fat. I have done WW in the past too but far prefer MFP. It gives you real calorie counts, and…
• I don't count my dogs' walks as exercise, for me (because yes, there's a lot of sniffing going on! And pausing, and barking, and watering lol). But if you're just starting out and just starting to get some exercise, maybe count it for now until you have worked your way up to more strenuous stuff?
• I love my coffee just with half and half (although I've switched to the 5% light; can't tell a difference but I'll still have half and half if I'm out) and a sweetener. Nothing will make me give up my morning coffee made the way I like it!
• It's hard to see changes in ourselves, because we see ourselves all the time! Can you take some current pictures, and look at them compared to older pics? I am sure you'll see a difference. Plus you must FEEL a difference in your clothes by now! Don't get discouraged! Yes, it's a long way to go. I have been there. I try…
• I love my vegetable julienne slicer, my olive oil mister and my Starfrit garlic press! I've had that thing for years and it's so easy to grind the garlic, plus easily cleans up. I don't think there's anything I have that I don't like, as of now. But I'm keeping in mind some of the things mentioned here! EDIT: I'd love to…
•
I feel sorry for that poor shirts sleeves @nakedraygun ... You should probably just give up wearing shirts.
I completely agree.
• I like to mix a little olive oil mayo and Dijon mustard; still gives the creaminess but cuts down on the cals.
• Sounds a lot like me. Every day, I'm "going to be good" and pack healthy foods for work and plan my dinner. Come mid-morning/noon, I just want chips and snacks. I'm trying to actually think about wanting it, if I'm hungry or if it's just because I'm bored (usually the latter, of course). Being so tall your daily calories,…
• These are my biggest hurdles as well. My job is good but can have really slow days, and all I want to do is munch and surf the web lol. At night at home, I just want to snack too. Things I try to do to stop it: - really think if it's actual hunger or just boredom. Sometimes I can stop myself when I realize I'm just bored.…
• I would assume your 7 year old is in school, so maybe when the little one is napping? As long as you get it in there, it's all good! I can't get up any earlier week days (up at 6:30 for work) so I work out in the evenings, but on weekends I do mornings (first class is 9:30 a.m.).
• I sweat too. I have fine hair that shows the sweat/grease. I've always been a daily washer, but I've changed to mostly showering at night now, after workouts. I prefer the mornings as my hair looks best freshly styled but hey, gotta go with the flow. I use a heat protectant before styling, which helps prevent damage. I…
• I do pump 2-3 times a week. I believe MFP calculates the burn based on your weight. My current burn is 558 for a hour. (many people say MFP overestimates the burn so only eat back 50-75% of the calories if you're inclined). I can search it on the app and website.....
• I have done both. The thing a lot of people like about WW is the banking of points, so you can have a really high day. I dunno, I prefer the calorie counting here. I love how when I exercise, it gives me more calories for the day. And the database is huge, plus I love to import recipes from Pinterest and other sites. The…
• Maybe try cutting down on your sugar? Or switch to a sugar-free option. I have one Splenda and two cream in my coffee (I won't give up my half and half! lol so I fit it in).
• Depends; if you're working out a lot, I think yes. My scale hasn't gone done that much but I feel smaller, as I'm working out 4-6 times a week.
• I use a body scrub daily in the shower and moisturize every day after. This has really helped.
• Good for you! Check out YouTube for exercises you can do with your baby. I know there are some where you kind of use your baby as a weight, and weight lifting really helps burn fat.

• Good for you!! Hard work pays off.
• Noooo! Hate it. Give me a good, hard exercise class, some weights, or paddling. I refuse to run!
• This is good advice. I've also changed my thinking from the BIG number to smaller goals. I'm focusing on each 10 pounds, and when I get there, I give myself a reward (first 10, facial, second 10, a makeup palette I've been coveting). Maybe try focusing on each five pounds, and then think of something you can do to reward…
• I agree, if you can add weights into your workouts you will see much better results. Start slowly, and gradually your strength will increase. I am 42, and I had to start out slower and lower than I did at 30, but now I lift as heavy as I can. I struggle with my eating the most, but because of the weights I am really seeing…
• Could you try beans, legumes, peanut butter and such? Also, if you find that you're not able to get enough calories, switch to foods with more fats and calories; stay away from light/fat free. You sound like you're doing a ton of activity; make sure you set your activity level higher in MFP to account for standing on your…
• Sure, maybe you could have made a better choice...but you ate it, and it's in the past now! So, don't dwell, get back to your healthy eating today and I doubt it will make much of a difference in the big scheme of things. Have a great food day today!
• I would say yes, increase your water intake (it is better for your than Diet Coke; I love it myself but now only have a couple of cans on the weekends). As many have mentioned, this will take some time. Increase your activity level (either by doing activities you like, or walking/running, or maybe check out some new…
• Yes, squats and lower body exercise. Drinking lots of water. The front of my thighs are terrible and so embarrassing. I'm hoping as my weight goes down (and I'm currently working out a lot), it will become less noticeable. Unfortunately, there is no "cure" as of yet.
• Maybe get one of those bands that goes around your head to keep your glasses on if you need them while you work out?
• As mentioned, some do have side effects (wellbutrin, etc.). But it could be that now you're feeling better, you're just eating more (was loss of appetite a side effect of your depression as well?).
• In answer to your question, the guys that reject me are of average looks/look worse in person. Not sure if it's based solely on my/their looks or personalities not meshing. And I don't know if anything would have ended up in a relationship but I'd probably give at least a second date (first date jitters can be rough). I've…
