Do you who eat 1200 a day actually average 1200 a day? Do you have a cheat meal - one night a week where you eat more? Are you really weighing and/or measuring your servings? I'm just wondering because I thought I was only eating 1200 a day too and when I actually measured and/or weighed and I logged every single bite that…

Yea same thing here. I haven't lost in a year. I can't say I've been totally focused but I have gone several weeks logging and working out and no loss. I did a personal training class last year and didn't really see a difference in weight - I saw some muscle forming in my arms and legs but nothing in the tummy! I started…

Feel free to add me too :). I started in the 138 to 140 when I met my husband 3 years ago - I'm afraid I am really close to the 170's now and trying hard to get it back down. I have to have a "plan" lol -- I'm always trying something new to keep me interested.
-
Good post and good explanation. The only other thing I would add to this post - when people are posting that they are not losing but following their plan is that I would say to check your amounts that you are adding to your diary. I think so many people estimate their serving size and would probably be surprised if they…

If you had a baby - you may never weigh 110 pounds again. That doesn't mean you can't get down to a slim size - your body changes. I was also 110 if that before I had my son. When I started working out to lose the baby weight I was a very small size 3 and healthy and curvey in all the right places - the lowest weight I…

Great post and makes a lot of sense. Would love to have a personal trainer be that involved in helping to understand the whole process. I'm still working on what works for me and what is not working is mostly my not being consistent with working out but may take you up on advice in the future.

Hi - my name is Jo - short for Jawona.

Hi. I am 48 but feel like I'm 28 - or at least I did until just recently - lol. Since my wedding to a much younger man - I have put on some pounds. Not sure what happened except that we have a busy social lifestyle and my working out and eating habits have suffered. Trying to balance it all has been hard. Plus I think my…

Add your protein to your coffee - just add a scoop to a little bit of coffee in your cup - mix it until its creamy and not lumpy then add the rest of your coffee.

I've been dealing with this question for about a year - lol. I think you can do it several ways. I think the key is to find a way and stick to it. If you do it the TDEE -20% then you wouldn't eat back exercise calories because you would already have figured those in. And you would eat the same amount everyday because you…

Feel free to add me - I am 48 and have been trying pretty hard for about a year to get this extra off. It doesn't want to budge! I've tried 1200 diet, I've tried the Eat More to Lose way, I've tried Insanity and now I'm trying New Rules. I've never had this hard of a time getting my weight to budge so I'm thinking its got…

I'd be interested too - I know my schedule is kind of hectic some weekends but when I am here I would join in. I can't wait for the warm weather! Also, I've had some problems with me foot and now my knee but it comes and goes. I'm scheduling an appt. with the dr soon to figure out what I have going one. I'd like to try to…

When I wore my HRM and I worked out at the gym - the calories burned were almost exact. So I wold use that lower no. But it is all estimates anyway and so I go by my TDEE -20% and pay attention to the total calories I eat anyway.
-
I customized my macros because I am trying to get more protein and less carbs. I did according to New Rules of Lifting for Women

Try this link for figuring your TDEE http://www.iifym.com/tdee-calculator I just did it and I followed another post here called "What do I do? - Common Sense Cliff Notes" to figure what my daily calories should be. If you put no workouts in your calculations - then when you do work out - just add some calories to cover…

I do a protein shake in the morning and one in the afternoon if I work out. Love my morning protein shakes!

I'm 48 and did exactly like you. Was wearing a size 5/6 working out looking and feeling good - then came along my husband - lol. We have a great life but the eating habits and our schedules have left my with a few extra pounds. Now trying hard to get them off. You are lucky your husband is on your journey too. Mine tries…

Haha - yea that seems a little over my head - I think I'll just take my chances that its pretty accurate. I could tell that when I started using mine I was not getting my heart rate up to a fat burn rate as easily as I thought I was so having the monitor really helps me push myself.
-
That's what I read too. I just thought it might help to boost your metabolism some. I use mine when I do weights but I basically follow the TDEE cut for my calories so I just log to keep track and to make sure I am eating enough if I work out.
-
What do you mean it took some adjusting? How do you "adjust" it. Shouldn't it just record your heart rate and apply that to your stats you put in?
-
Add some weights to your training schedule. Just doing yoga and walking probably isn't going to get your heart rate up to a fat loss rate.

I would say yes because if you look at the ingredients - it even has cocoa processed with alkali - I just did a google, cause I was curious too. The only thing I know for lower sugar is frozen fruit that would naturally be lower in sugar or just plain water and ice. I add a litle instant coffee to my chocolate to make it…

Carbs are my biggest enemy - processed carbs anyway. I set my low - just so that I could really work on getting myself used not eating them again. Basically anything that is packaged or frozen (like dinners) or man made are processed carbs. Potatoes, brown rice, fruits and veggies all have carbs - but they are better carbs…

There is a "Newbie for January" group that I belong to, along with the bigger group for NROLW - we are all starting on January 14 if you'd like to join and start with us :)

Fruits and veggies and of course lots of water. Cut your processed foods - that alone should help with the bloatedness. Eat real food - if it has ingredients in it - don't eat it - so eat, lean proteins, fruits, veggies, eggs. I find it hard to eat completely real so what I do is try to eat nothing that is made out of a…

I do a 3 day fruit flush by Jay Robb. Works great for me - easy to follow - not harsh and really helps to get back on track.

I'm 5'2 and looking to loose around 20 to 25 lbs. I'm 164 now. Feel free to add me - love new friends!

I am a busty curvy girl. I think - maybe just my perception - lol - but I think I carry my weight well. I did my measurements before I started Insanity but would have to go back and see what they were. I am still wearing my pants - but they are tight tight tight and I have a hang over in the tummy. I also cannot believe…

Mexican food. I could eat it every day. So to satisfy that mexican food craving I have a can of black beans (1/2 can at one sitting), mix in a little cheese (and I do mean just a little), pour on the spanish garden taco sauce and heat it up in the microwave and count out my serving of baked chips and that is my dinner. I…

Oh No - don't tell me that I won't be able to find a new one if mine goes. I will have to do a google search on this now and see if I can find one. I actually dropped my cup a few years ago and found where I was able to purchase just the blender cup and it came with two - which was great because I always had a spare to use.
