  • I'm telling ya - Chris Freytag personal blender - the best I've ever had. I bought it off of QVC for a very good price. Blends ice and frozen fruit like a smoothie you buy from a restaurant.
  • I just fill my personal bender with some ice - add some water - add one scoop chocolate and blend. Its like a chocolate shake. If you have calories to add you can add milk, almond milk, or whatever you like, it will give it more body. I also do fruit ones with vanilla -- just add some frozen fruit instead of ice and water…
  • I have a Chris Freytag personal blender - got it for Christmas one year and love it! I bought extra blender cups to go with it. Bought it off of the Home Shopping Network. Blends ice and frozen fruit way better then the bullet, the size is perfect and it has a spill proof lid to go with it. I think the model has changed…
  • Good ideas -- but he won't eat fish or any seafood either. He is a pasta and/or meat and potato guy. I've been making him his dinner and then I will eat a salad with fish or chicken, but its getting harder to think of things to make him for dinner every night when I'm not eating it to.
  • In my opinion - yes - you are still getting enough calories - you are just doing it over a week's time instead of daily. I was doing this before I started the Insanity program - but don't think I gave it enough time to really work.
  • Feel free to add me! I am re-starting disk one today. I started but due to several interruptions didn't keep up with it. I am committed to keep it up this time. It is an awesome workout. Just don't be afraid to go at your own pace. It gives you plenty of room to build up and improve.
  • I'm in - I have been trying to get on track but my husband and life have been getting in the way! Birthday weekend this weekend so starting fresh on Monday the 23rd. Start Date: 7/23/12. Projected End: 9/23/12 Following Nutrition Guide: Nope, just using MFP trying to net around 1500 a day and stay off processed foods.…
  • I'm starting over again tomorrow morning. My hubby pooped out on me and didn't follow through with the work outs we had scheduled. Though I know the 4th holiday in the middle made it harder, but we could have done it. I was so disappointed as I was really excited we were doing it together. So I am now committed to do it on…
  • My husband and I started yesterday too - we did the fit test - which was very hard - lol. Today is our first actual workout. Feel free to add me as a friend would love to see how other people are progressing. We are taking before pics today - which I actually already have because we went on a float trip and I have a pic of…
  • i'm going to stick with 1500 cals for the next 3 weeks, and then go from there...... since i already ate at 1500 and didn't lose anything ( and tried to go higher) i'm not sure where this will all end up taking me...... i'm 5'3" and 190. i'd like to lose 50lbs. puts me at the TOP of normal for my height and is what i need…
  • Hmm that is an idea - I have a friend who found out she was highly allergic to Gluten and when she took it out of her diet she felt so much better and dropped pounds. That's why I'm going to get blood work done and see my dr. next week - just to check all this out too.
  • Have you tried the zig zag method? For me its easier to stay on track with my calories - I'm doing that method but breaking it down into weekly calories along with doing the Insanity starting on Monday. I figure anything to help me stay on track with my calories is worth trying.
  • Me - I actually started watching my calories and starting a personal training class in mid-December. Starting hitting it harder in January. Tried the Eat More to Lose Weight method. Lost a few pounds that first week, but I was hitting the gym hard and running and couldn't keep up that schedule. Chalked it up to the pill -…
  • Anyone want to follow each other on our walls and/or our blogs feel free to friend request me. I eat - not one of those people that starve myself and I am really going to work hard to keep my calories up, eating cleaner and keeping my macro percentages where they should be. Any help in the food nutrition/meal category…
  • Starting Monday too! Feel free to friend request me if you want to follow each other on our wall. Are you doing it by yourself or with someone? My husband says he's on board with me and I hope he sticks to it. I've done a lot of bootcamp classes, personal training etc., but nothing like P90X or Insanity.
  • I've done a ton of personal training classes, bootcamp classes and I have never been able to do pushups the hard way either. My plan is to push myself to do them the hard way in the program, even if its just a few - gotta start pushing myself more I think!
  • I just received my dvd's last night. I am starting on Monday - and am so excited. My husband is doing it with me (so he says). I am really hoping he is on board with me. I've had a hard time focusing on working out and eating healthy since we have been married. I'm already tracking my calories and I have my weekly calorie…
  • Awesome! I am inspired. I start Insanity on Monday - just got my dvd's yesterday.
  • Thanks everyone! It is so nice to have such great support on here. I am determined that I am going to get in shape - somehow - lol. I am so excited to start the program, and even more since my husband has committed to doing it with me.
  • Thanks! That helps. I will figure it out. I was going to by an HRM but decided to just estimate and go with the TDEE and cut and I just wanted to make sure that I was eating enough calories. I can't wait - I'm excited to start!
  • I'm with you here - that's exactly what I do too. I had the same issue last week - had a very stressful day/night and couldn't eat hardly anything. Was shaky the next day so of course grabbed something quick on my way to work and then slowly over the next two days picked up eating again and it wasn't the healthiest of…
  • Yep - Lea's right - I lift a lot too and I think that may be why I don't see more results on the scale - but that's ok being fit and healthy is more important than the scale! Just keep it up. Much better night last night - had all you can eat crab legs but all i had was the crab legs so I don't feel I did that bad just…
  • Well had a very stressful day yesterday into the evening and as a result didn't eat dinner. So I still had 597 calories left for the day. Not healthy I know - but I cannot eat if I am upset - I will throw it back up. So today I will probably eat a little more than goal and then not eat as much on Saturday (my highest day)…
  • Oh and Mike's Hard Lemonade Mango Punch - my favorite drink on the weekends - we were buying it by the case - I thought it was probably the same as a beer. Nope - 300 calories a bottle! No wonder I packed weight on last fall!.
  • Coffee creamer - I buy the fat free french vanilla thinking I was only getting about 25 calories a cup. I actually measured how many tablespoons I put in my coffee (I like it sweet) and it was almost 4 which was 100 calories a cup - I drink anywhere from 3 to 4 cups somedays - most of the time two. I'm glad I measured it -…
  • Not offended at all - I didn't state that it was backed up by research - just thought it was an interesting article and thought I would share.
  • I just read an article in women's health about how so many people overestimate their burn because they are going off of the gym machine's numbers. It said that those numbers can be way off especially if the equipment is older. It also said that most HRM's are also off and estimate too high as even though its properly more…
  • Ah - thank you for that input. I also try not to rely solely on the scale - but with the extra weight I have put on - it has to go down - lol. Sounds like you have a good plan and it is working for you! I did notice that my sodium was up this week. I'm going to try to keep it down this week and see if that helps. I think…
  • I just read an article in Women's Health that most people think they create more of a calorie burn than they actually do. The exercise machines in the gyms are off by quite a bit (according to the article) and that you can't really be sure unless you are measuring your heart rate, etc. like with an HRM and that even HRM's…
