Let's try this again. I am predicting that January is going to be just as cold, if not colder then December so will drop my goal way down (I walk outside). January goal: 15 1/1/14: 1.86

Total for January: 6.25 Way, way off thanks to lots of subzero temps :(

I have arthritis in my knees. Jumping and running cause a lot of jolting so I don't do it. A couple of years ago I went to physical therapy and that helped a lot, they had me doing exercises to strengthen my knees. The more active I am the better they feel! I also used to do a lot of low impact but have found the more…

Good luck with the masters! I completed a 6 course certificate program a couple of years ago and did fine. Maybe that type of memory uses a different part of the brain? I can go to a class or course and remember the information from that but not that I was supposed to pick up milk that day. Or where I parked the car.

Nope, you aren't loosing it. I do it all the time, it sucks but after three years of it I (and my husband) are used to it. I keep a notebook on my kitchen counter and take notes & make lists. Its just stuff like that and to do list items that I tend to forget. Not sure what makes them different.

12/2: .68 miles Snow and rain here for the next few days then sub zero temps coming so not sure I'll be able to get much in for walks :( @Iciasullo I bought something similar to Yaktrax at Walmart three years ago. They are fantastic. I walk with my dogs and there is no way I could safely walk them both if I didn't have…

I'm back after a month off and in for 30 miles! 12/1: 1.33

We are similar ages and heights. I started out at 196 lbs and was not loosing till I put my target calories at 1400. Once I uped my calories to that I started to loose (and wasn't starving like I felt I was at 1200). I average between 1400 and 1600 most days but I don't worry about the extra 200 as I burn way more then…

Has anyone used these lights? They are inexpensive and get good reviews. I am thinking they'd be great to use at work for an hour or so mid day, which is when it really starts to hit me. http://www.verilux.com/light-therapy-lamps/happylight-2500/

After a couple years of feeling depressed all winter I think I have SAD. I am planning on making an appointment with my doctor to discuss as it's not even Thanksgiving and I am feeling it already. In the last two weeks we've had sunny days only twice and I felt great on those days but tired , cranky and depressed on the…

Total from 10/16 to 10/31: 10.77 Total for month: 25.2. Short of my goal this month but it's been a very rainy month.

It's very interesting to see how even at the same height and similar weights we are all different!! 5'7'' SW: 198 -- 16-18, Shirt size L-XL CW:169 -- 12, Shirt size M-L (I do have 2 brand new size 14 jeans from AE but if you match them up to my other 12's they are a little smaller even) GW 135 -- 6-8, Shirt size M-S ( I am…

This is exactly what I have been told as well as what I have read. I think it's even a warning on my prescription bottle.

I love to walk by myself, just me and my dogs. A few years back I did have a great walking partner. She's a good friend and was a neighbor and we walked at lunch everyday, but then they moved a few towns away. Now I prefer to walk alone. I have another neighbor that always wants to walk with me, and if I invite her once…

I made this last night for our dinner and it was fantastic!! It was so simple to make and we have a lot of leftovers so will make good lunch. I am thinking it would even be good over some rice. I sliced up apples for our side. http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/shredded-french-dip

We have a vacation coming up and I am not planning to track my food and drink. It's been a lifestyle change for me so I think I will still make good choices on what I choose to eat. There's a lot of stuff I ate before that I really no longer care to eat and often give me an upset stomach. I do want to get some workouts in.…

Got way behind on logging in here! Oct 2 - 6: 14.13 miles Total to date: 15.43 miles Way behind on my goal due to lots of rainy days (all my mile are outside) :(

I was shocked at the calorie count of most everything at Applebees. Wow, I've been there once since I started actively tracking 9 months ago and was taken by surprise at how high in calories they were.

I'd highly recommend taking pictures, just for yourself. Often people don't pay enough attention to notice. And if they see you everyday they may not notice at all. I recently took updated pictures (at around 25 lbs lost) and was shocked to see the difference! And it really wasn't till I started wearing smaller size…

I do weigh in as it's part of a challenge I am in but would rather take measurements and go off of the fit of my clothes. It's such a better measure of my progress. I also take pictures - huge motivator to see the progresses I've made!

I had a similar experience. Went to buy new dress pants figuring I'd be in a 14 (down from an 18 or tight 16) and they were too big. Ended up with a 12 and they fit great. I'm 5'7" 168lbs.
