If you want to open your diary, you can go to Settings > Diary settings and then choose Public. It can be helpful when troubleshooting but it's certainly not required. Either way, it sounds like you're headed in the right direction again. Good work!

Most of my woos seem to come from bumping old guide threads and posting about the middle ground in keto threads. You just have to find your woo niche and you'll rack them up like clockwork!

I was wooed recently for sharing my experiences with binge eating (I can't imagine that was a "woohoo" but people are odd) and it looks like someone dug up a two-year-old thread about a baby food diet to leave me a woo present.

Hi there! You haven't given us a lot of details and you've chosen to keep your diary closed, so the best I can offer are some generic tips. 1. If it's been less than 3 weeks or so, don't sweat it! Normal fluctuations happen and unfortunately sometimes we stall for a week or two even when we're doing everything right. Give…

Any reason you skipped the question about the batteries? Digital scales do funny things when the batteries are about to die. It's worth swapping them out to check if you haven't changed the batteries in a while.

Which one fits into your calorie and nutrition goals better? It's the overall nutrition for the day that matters rather than any one particular food.

idk if this is at all helpful, but these are my really general tips for hunger: 1. Make sure that your calorie goals are actually set appropriately. Don't skip this step. A lot of people set goals that are too aggressive and then wonder why they're having a hard time.…

Almost any food scale will work fine. Look for one that is digital, has a tare function (sometimes it's the on/off switch), and that you can easily switch between ounces and grams. If you're going to be weighing large pots of food then you'll also probably want to be sure the scale can handle it (I think most go up to 11…

I'm sure you'll find plenty of sauce & spice options online, but for veggies I like to roast mine in olive oil with some salt and pepper. Mrs. Dash makes some spice mixes that are already balanced if you don't like to play mad scientist in the kitchen. I'm especially fond of the garlic & herb version, but my parents like…

Calories are king for weight loss and sugar won't ruin it. I like to have a chocolate protein bar around 3pm or I'm worthless in the afternoon. Find a snack that you like and work it into your goals. There are lots of chocolatey options that should fit if you have 700 calories left at the end of the day!

Meal timing has very little affect on weight loss and the benefits from eating one way or the other, for most people, just gets lost in the noise of CICO. Elite athletes or people with a disease or medications that require them to watch their meal timing need to worry about it. For almost everyone else, sustainability and…

It's been a while since I've used the Lose It app, but I believe they consider your exercise calories up front (TDEE version) vs. MFP which assumes you won't exercise until you log it and then adds more calories to compensate (NEAT version). The two should come out about the same over time. But remember that they're all…

Bumping means posting in the thread to "bump" it back up to the top of the boards so that more people will see it.

I always think of the poster who wasn't logging her cooking spray because the label lists a quarter second spray as zero calories. But she was going through a can of the stuff every 1-2 days and had something like 900 calories unaccounted for. Or the poor people who get caught up trusting the bar code scanner and verified…

Getting "a lot of good stuff" does not necessarily equate to getting proper nutrition. Alongside the vitamins, minerals, and fiber you're getting in veggies, there are recommended minimum amounts of protein and fat that are hard to get without adequate calories.

You *should* go over on poly and monounsaturated fats every day. Don't worry about those particular numbers. They're supposed to be n/a since there's no maximum amount for those fats.
-
Remember that the oil spray says 0 cals because it's less than 5 calories per quarter second spray. When I coat my pan with it, I expect it to be about 20-40 calories. I don't find it worth logging, personally, but I mention it because we had a poster once going through multiple cans of the stuff every week without…

Just picking a random day in your diary. You were 1,000 calories short yesterday. There are some little things, yes, like using whole eggs and butter or oil in your cooking. But imo, the little things will get you a few hundred calories and you might want larger changes. Do you enjoy eating fish, lean meats, and veggies…

Years ago when I started here, people used to suggest eating 75% of their exercise calories. Then it became 50-75% and now that's been shortened to just 50%. I find the progression interesting.

A plateau is generally defined as 6-8+ weeks with no weight loss while keeping your diet and routine steady. Fortunately, it doesn't sound like you've quite hit a plateau, but rather a slow down in weight loss and an increase in those normal fluctuations that sometimes mask weight loss from week to week. You might want to…

Obviously you've seen by now that the keto diet gets a lot of discussion around here. I think most people would agree that it's a fine diet if it works best for you. A lot of people like it and find it a good fit for them. It wasn't a good fit for me and it had some negatives for me that are specific to my needs and wants.…

Keto isn't how our ancestors ate for thousands of years, though. Starches and grains have been in the human diet since we developed fire. I don't know where this idea comes from, but it's absolutely not backed up by the archaeological record.

It's not open. I can only respond to what you've told us in this thread.

What I'm taking from this thread so far is that you're aiming for a larger than 1000-calorie deficit from your maintenance each day, aiming for 2.2 to 2.8 pounds lost per week, looking to have a diet that's 50% protein, and getting most of that protein from protein powder. Leaving aside the incredibly aggressive deficit,…

I put the coffee on the food scale, weigh how much creamer I add, and log that amount. Since I use a lot of creamer it's closer to 80-100 calories/cup for me.
