  • What an excellent post :-) I started weights 3 weeks ago, but I cheated (well its not really cheating I guess) and hired a PT, she is fantastic, is totally into free weights, and we box as well often to mix it up and get in cardio, and we will put in a few extra things, and shes got all the ideas of what to do if I"m…
  • I've been lapse on getting on the groups, I'm so sorry, been busy with training at my new job, and working out etc! But now I'm trained, it should settle down :-) Been doing really well, lost a fair bit of weight since my last update, exercising for about 100 or so minutes most days of the week, learning to swim, having PT…

  • *nods in agreement* I find them more of a killer than squats at the rack, my PT is a stickler for squats, and if other trainers see me in class I always get praise for them :-)
  • I know it may not be a possibility, but if you suggest to the gym they buy one, and they maybe cant afford it, as I believe the YMCA gyms are not like a big chain gym? Then maybe see if you can get together with other gym users and gauge the interest in a rack, and if they say they cant afford it, maybe suggest that…
  • I know its not 100% ideal as you probably want to work to higher weights and be able to rack, but we do weighed squats in the body conditioning class, we weight our bars, and hold them on our shoulders (well you know where I mean) and squat, granted its not with heavy heavy weights as we have to lift them up and over our…
  • I'm in the UK, feel free to add me anyone.
  • Feel free to add me if anyone wants too :-)
  • I wouldnt run again this soon on, I'm doing the C25K programme, I'm repeating week 3 as the jump to 4 was just a bit to much, dont overdo it, otherwise by the time you get to week 3 or 4 you will really struggle as you will burn out to quickly. There is no need to do the run twice a day, its designed for beginners, 3 times…
  • I'm not sure I can run any slower lol! I havent had time to do much since Thursday, tried W4 again today, really not feeling it, so I'm going to repeat W3 for now, get back into the swing of it and see what happens.

  • I've been so busy, not been updating, but I have kept a record of my miles, so hopefully will find time to go through it all and update tomorrow :-)
  • 14 glasses of water today, was so thirsty whilst I was at the gym, cant remember how much exercise, think its about 170 mins give or take a bit, (cant be bothered to flick screens to find out!hehe) I'm not weighing in for a while, so wont update that until the end probably. Well done to everyone :-)

  • Well done everyone. I did not repeat WK3, but moved to W4 D1 yesterday! OMG that was a shock to the system! Only manged the first 2 runs, had to skip the 2nd 3 min run, and only got 4 mins out of the 2nd 5 min run!

  • I moved to WK 4 yesterday, and I found it very difficult! The jump to two 3 mins runs and two 5 mins runs from 90 seconds and 3 mins respectively is a lot! I done the first 2 runs, then I had to skip the 2nd 3 min one, and only done 4 mins of the last 5 mins, it was a killer!

  • walked today and went on the treadmill walking and running, covered 5.5 miles :-)
  • I find having the break boosts my motabalism a bit, I normally still walk on rest days, but I wont do anything else, and I dont beat myself up if I dont walk or whatever, but I'm careful of what I eat on those days. I'm having a rest day tomorrow, had 2 hard days, and I'm working later tomorrow, and have an appointment in…
  • 140 mins exercise, walking, C25K and weights, as well as copious amounts of time brain frazzled, surely that burns calories?lol, and had 11 glasses of water, and about to have another one, as thirsty! Well done everyone, another good day :-)

  • 173 minutes of exercise, ran, walked, went to the gym, under cals (probably could do with eating another hundred or two to get me to daily allowance, but I'm not hungry!) and 11 glasses of water, but I'll most likely have another glass before bed.

  • You will :-) I never ran, think the last time I ran was school, and that was because I had to!hehe I didnt think I'd like it, but I really do, have my music on and its great :-)
  • You can do it, just keep trying, I was terrible on my first week, the first day wasnt as bad as I thought it would be but I struggled, and my recovery took ages, I've just finished Week 3, which I'm going to repeat as I dont quite feel ready to go from 3mins to 5 mins yet, so hopefully next week I'll do Week 4 :-) You do…
