  • Am I too late to join this challenge? I got back on track on the 28th, so only a few days after you started. SW: 301 CW: 293 GW: 261 UGW: 160
  • Reneinitaly, I also suffer from lazy-itis in the evening. For that reason I try to be organised and meal plan. I already know what I am cooking for dinner tonight (Yaki udon), so I have logged it already. It also means I am finishing work knowing how many spare calories I have today, and I find that helps me to rationally…
  • Feel free to add me. I have 140lb to lose
  • I'm an emotional eater too. I've been big all my adult life, but have in the past successfully lost weight, then 7 years ago my brother died. Since then I have put on 6 stone. I go through phases of wanting to lose weight, and I succeed for a while, but then I feel down, and don't see what the point is. I eat, whilst…
  • In the past I've done WW, SW(Slimming World) and MFP. Had success with all 3, but then the motivation goes, or I get bored with the plan, or life happens and the weight losses stop and it starts to go back on. Currently I am just back from being off track for a while, back from holiday and ready to be good. Planning on…
  • No, but I like to be slightly under my calorie target at the end of the day to allow for all the little extras. I also don't log my diet pop which has 2 calories per can.

  • Depends on the type of holiday. My drinking friends tend to go for the save up the day time points by having a fruit breakfast and salad lunch, then enjoy the evening. I tend to go for the more activity (walking and swimming) to compensate the extra eating method.
  • Depends on your periods. For some women they are light, pain free and totally not a problem. For others it is totally different. For me my average month is: 2 days light bleeding but not feeling too bad 4 days of can't leave the house for longer than 30 minutes (thank goodness I'm able to work from home) as it is that…
  • Thanks that's really helpful knowledge. Def not going to be cutting the calcium and fruit out of the diet, as I'm only 2 years behind you with a family history of osteoporosis. More interested in seeing what sugar is creeping in to my diet from less healthy sources. I had a spare macro, so might as well be there, but it…
  • Hormones? I know there are times of the month when I am constantly hungry. I try to continue to eat my 3 healthy and filling meals, then try and ensure that the grazing is as healthy as possible so it does minimal damage. And also drinking plenty as everyone else has said.
  • I didn't have sugar on my food diary (sat fat, iron and protein are the ones I need to keep an eye on more for medical reasons), but I am growing increasingly interested in sugar, so read this thread and went and ticked the sugar box in my food plan settings. The fruit levels didn't overly shock me, although I am thinking…
  • I have a Fitbit Flex and love it. It makes you much more aware of how active you are, more so than a pedometer. I can easily clock up the steps, but the Fitbit counts steps but also tells you how many minutes of activity you have done. Mine is shockingly low, as sauntering around counts to the step total but isn't proper…
  • A lot of cereals are fortified with iron. Just a matter of finding one that isn't full of sugar too. Eaten with skimmed milk will boost your calcium too
  • Totally agree with you Chris. Totally psychological, and it's boredom and getting downhearted from unrealistic goals and no treats to look forward to or too far out of reach that makes me give up. Hopefully not this time
  • Applied. Love Harry Potter. Check out my profile picture, all ready to go to platform 9 3/4 to catch the train
  • I'm 38 and British with 140lb to lose. Also been here before, and the support helps. Hopefully this time my motivation will keep going. Will send you a friend request
  • I have 140 to lose in total. Lost 16 so far. Had lost more, but kind of lost track for a while. Been back on track for 4 days now and feeling good
  • I notice yesterday that my fitbit had my dinner down twice when I synced. MFP was correct so I just deleted the duplicate in fitbit. Only synced MFP and Fitbit for the first time yesterday so don't know if this is a one off or a regular issue
  • I stick to my Wii fit at TOM in the comfort and privacy of my own home. I can do as much or as little as I want and as slowly as I want with nobody there to see me or judge me
  • I don't plan in cheat meals or treats, because I do it when I need it or for something special, but try not to let it happen more than once a week. I try to eat cleanish and low carb most of the time, so a cheat for me could be something like homemade pizza. I do try to log it though, although it's not always that…
  • I try to avoid the evening snacking by clicking the complete button as soon as my evening meal is done, and psychologically drawing a line under that days food. Then if I do eat I need to complete the days food again and everyone of my friends on here will know I've eaten more, especially if it goes from under my daily…
  • I'm a computer geek, so drinking coffee and lots of it is almost part of my job description. I drink skinny lattes if I'm buying coffee. Not as creamy as some options, but with all that milk in compensates for the lack of cream. At home I buy really good quality coffee and make it half water and half skimmed milk. The…
  • I applied yesterday. Hope I get in as I am a total fan
  • Shovelling and blowing snow sounds like a good work out. We've had hardly any snow this winter. Just lots of wind and rain. Hoping that spring will bring some nice weather to get outside, but not so far. Going on an Easter Egg hunt with my daughter this weekend, so that should be good exercise.
  • Not on a regular basis, but we do pretty active days out in school holidays. Sometimes take her to a fun pool and she plays on the slides, diving boards and wave pool, whilst I go in the normal pool and swim lengths. On a day out with her I can easily clock up 3-4 times as many steps on my fitbit than I normally do. Roller…
  • For me high calorie drinks aren't worth it, as they don't fill you up and have no nutritional benefit. Although I will make an exception on occasion for the milkshakes at the American diner near me as they are so lush and filling. Other than that I will save the calories for the stuff I want
  • Whether it's healthy depends on how much above or below they are and how often. My iron I want to go quite a lot over with, as I am anaemic. Protein I don't mind going over as I am trying to do high proteins and low carbs. Hence carbs I like to be under. Saturated fat I also like to be under. Also 1 day of them being way…
  • I make my own "sauces". I mix the dry herbs and spices I like with a little water (or lemon juice if I think it will go) into a paste and rub it on to the meat and leave it in the fridge for a few hours before cooking. I then wrap it in tinfoil to cook, as it isn't as naturally juicy as a proper sauce. Just note if you use…
  • I'm in Leeds. Feel free to add me
