I get accused of having a fake profile pic all the time. I assume it's jealousy. But it really is 10000% real.

Wow! That is dramatic! Good for you! :)

One of the BEST success stories to date!! Congratulations to you on conquering, not only one, but at least two demons. Good luck to you!

You won't find any 'tips' here - just agreement. Yes!!!! You are CORRECT! Food is too expensive. These fools are smoking the crack pipe when they are pricing this stuff! :smokin: Five bucks for a box of cereal? Ten bucks for balsamic vinegar? SERIOUSLY??? Grrr! :explode:

People won't notice until you lose around 50lbs. 17lbs is a lot and you should be proud but don't look for it in the headlines. :) Keep up the good work!!!

Tomorrow will be 10 weeks exactly since my surgery. Sundays are my weigh-in days and it was the first time since my surgery that the scale didn't move 4 or 5 pounds. Not even a fraction of an ounce in over a week. I was devastated but reading this has made me feel better. Thanks all!!

Fantastic!! Congrats!

The tags......out of my clothes.

Make sure you have food on your stomach before taking it!

Thanks Pat and Susan. Great advice. I will watch my water/beverage intake. I have some Power aide Zeros in my fridge. I will take them with me next time.

I am a chocolate fiend so my favorite was Muscletech Deluxe Chocolate. As far as pre-mixed I like Pure Protein but only used them for convenience since they cost so much more.

Take the power away from the scale and give it to yourself. "The scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship to gravity." It can't measure all of your workouts, all of the muscle you have gained and all of the cheeseburgers you have passed up. It's just a tool. Put it in it's place!

OMG, YES!!! I still buy using my old habits. I've been buying this way for 30 years so it's not an easy habit to break. I did have the epiphany of realizing 'Oh my word, why did I buy soooo much food. This has gotta stop!' LOL. I told hubby we weren't going back to the grocery store for at least 6 months.

I had the VSG done 7/7/14. I will be happy to lend any info you may have. I know about the nervous thing!! Good luck!!

I had surgery 7/7/14 and would be happy to answer any questions. It's a big decision and I remember being so nervous before hand. I will be glad to lend any assistance to any VSG'ers.

I LOVE swimming. If you are nervous about going shirtless get a swim shirt or rash guard. That may make you feel more comfortable. If you would rather go shirtless - do it!! Own that shizz!

I was buttoning my pants - I had the button and the button hole in a death grip. With all my strength, I shoved them towards each other ready for the suck - latch - breathe technique but to my surprise they overshot each other by an inch or so. Nice. :smokin:

Excellent! All that hard work is showing!

Sounds like my ideal level of commitment.

I brought the comfy clothes I came in - big tshirt and big sweat pants - and wore this home when I left. I brought my phone charger, slippers and a big PowerAid Zero and that's it. I was in the hospital 2 nights. When I got home I survived off of PowerAid Zero drinks, sugar free Popsicles, and protein powder drinks. I…

Are you talking about pain at your incision sites?

Got into a pair of jeans this morning that I couldn't zip two weeks ago!

I'm sorry for your losses but happy for your making moves to a happier and healthier life! You sound so resolute. Congratulations to you.

Contact someone (psychologist/psychiatrist) immediately regarding your suicidal feelings. Fire your nutritionist and "shop" for one that works well with you.

Are you snacking and eating on a lot of carbs? If so, it helped me to switch to a high-protein/low carb diet. I was a carb monster and carbs made me wanna eat when I was not hungry. On a low carb diet I don't have the carb or sugar cravings.

It takes a while to re-wire your brain. Re-route your thought process. I'm sure she is hearing what you say but it sounds like she is really hard-wired to pills and eating like a bird and what you are telling her goes against everything she knows about losing weight. It may click with her one day or not. Be patient.

LOLing all over the place.

After surgery, I just ate what I could tolerate. I got up and moved as often as I could tolerate it but I was utterly exhausted the first week and it only improved a small amount during week 2. I had to drink liquids for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after surgery, so between protein drinks and Popsicles that's about all I…

Yep, the first few days are the worst. Here is what helped me - I drank constantly. I mean constantly. Bouillon definitely helps and so do Popsicles. It's strange to be consuming something constantly but that is what I had to do to get me through it.

Speaking of sweeteners, what is the deal with Swerve? I have been seeing it popping up a lot in online recipes, etc.
