Bean noodles can usually be found in any Asian grocery. You can also buy them online. I also like rice noodles, such as what is used in Pho, and Pad Thai.

I don't. What kind of pasta dishes are you eating? I add a ton of vegetables to mine. I don't have any issues with hunger afterwards any more than a regular food.

Good to know I can combine them. I can go overboard, so sometimes I over think these things. I've looked a bit on that site, it seems like it would probably be worth the membership if I wanted more than the free plans. Thank you!

I was discussing this yesterday at my dermatologist. I was talking about the problems being overweight caused my skin, and how I had lost 60lbs. The nurse told me she was a binge eater. Her problem was so bad that she would throw food away across town to keep it out of her house, and then drive back and take it back out of…

There's a book called "Why Zebra's Don't Get Ulcers." By Robert Sapolsky. He's a neuroendocrinologist. He talks about the fight or flight response to stress, and what happens if we don't process the released glucocorticoids from this response. It is a fascinating book, and ultimately the thing that got me to start running.…

I want someone to say this to me, but it needs to be someone who cares. My sister and I have an agreement now to keep me honest, and that is one of the things I love about her.

I would try for a long run this weekend. I would recommend running intervals over quitt You can always run intervals. My friend was half training with me, and she kept falling behind in runs. She was worried about being able to finish. So we ran the entire thing in 2:1 run/walk intervals. She finished. It was awesome.

I didn't have a problem with my weight when I was overweight. It wasn't until I was being told by medical professionals that it was affecting my long term health that I decided to make a change. Losing weight is hard. Being overweight is hard. It's about choosing your hard.

I have never experienced moths buying bulk quinoa.

No, but I also don't experience debilitating pain that keeps me from sleeping. You might be exhausted because of that.

YES! This!

Have you tried eating close to when you run, or eating during the run to see if that changes how you feel? I have been using fruit as fuel during my runs, and I like it better than Gu type products. During the summer I freeze grapes, and then by mid run they are thawed. It's really refreshing. Now that it's winter it won't…

Spinach is high in oxalic acid (I couldn't remember what it was called so I had to Google it), and oxalic acid interferes with the body's ability to absorb non heme iron. Non heme iron is the stuff in plants. Heme iron comes from hemoglobin, aka the stuff in meat. Oxalic acid also impacts the amount of calcium you get from…

You don't specifically need the gym. Pylometric drills are helpful; think jumping, squats and lunges. You can do bodyweight exercises anywhere. Check out Pintrest for suggestions.

It's generally recommended to also increase your vitamin C, as it helps with the absorption of iron from plant sources. nhlbi.nih.gov/health/health-topics/topics/ida/treatment

I don't talk about my weight loss necessarily, but I talk constantly about running/fitness/etc. My mom talks about how many eggs her chickens lay, so she can hear me talk about running. I post about it on Facebook, and I post running selfies. It's my life, if people don't like it they are welcome to stop being friends with…

I eat whatever I want. I had a young college student at the gym tease me that it was great I lost 60lbs but it was only because I had to give up beer. My trainer gave me a look, because he knows I love beer. Here's the thing, you will learn that you have to be reasonable at times. If I want to drink a 250 calorie Imperial…

I lost 60lbs without using a food scale.

What about a program isn't working for you? Is it pain, or limiting from the issues you have with your feet? I have atrophy in my ankle from when it was broken which causes other performance issues. I have had to work on form, and strength to help balance out my body. I use programs as a guideline, but I have to…

Why wouldn't the fifteen year old help cook? My twelve year old cooked Tortilla Soup for dinner on Monday, and it was vegan. She found the recipe herself, and all I did was help her season it.

I would think this is good if you need the fats. I add milk or yogurt to my smoothie, so I have no need to add oil.

You are perpetuating a lot of myths here. Many people do not find it difficult to be vegetarian. I work for an India based company, and the vast majority of my Indian coworkers are vegetarians. They have zero problems eating enough plant based protein. The IBM programmers who come over from the East bring their own lentils…

I dislike breakfast, but I do better at the office when I eat it. I have a protein smoothie in the morning. Something that doesn't sit heavy in my body. My smoothie is just a handful of frozen fruit, and some milk/yogurt, and protein powder. On the weekend I don't eat breakfast at all. I have coffee, and eat a big lunch.

Cauliflower pizza crust: http://www.endofthreefitness.com/practically-paleo-cauliflower-pizza-crust/ Cauliflower bread sticks: http://ifoodreal.com/cauliflower-breadsticks-recipe/ Have you tried spaghetti squash? I tried it a couple weeks ago, and I'm hooked. Use it in a dish like you would pasta. It's sweet so it doesn't…

It's not bad, the sugars have just oxidized. The pit and some lime juice will help it not brown, but there is nothing wrong with eating it. They just look ugly.

OP Play with your layering. I am from the 49th parallel and I'm used to being in colder weather. I would die if I ran in 50 degree weather in a long sleeved shirt, and full pants. I wear capris and a short sleeved shirt. Last November it was super cold for my Veteran's day race, and I wore a dri fit hoodie. The sweat from…

That has been harder that I thought, eating without logging. The last three months of maintenance and not logging my food has been more mentally stressful than the 3 years of weight loss was.

I know how much my serving utensils hold. My ladle holds 1/2 cup. Two scoops is usually a serving, and I know how many scoops I get out of my soup pot based upon how full it is. Sometimes I tweak a recipe after I've made it the first time and count it out.

I have successfully done limiting diets like the South Beach Diet, which didn't require calorie counting. The most sustainable method for me has been counting, because it allows me to tweak according to circumstances, i.e. eating at other people's houses.

Stop being so hard on yourself.
