Truly you do...look amazing! Somebody mentioned that you look like you lost more than 20 lbs.... I think that's the beauty of working out really changes your shape not just your weight.

Congrats! Cool that you are not focused on the number on the scale but rather the size...

Welcome - MFP has been a great place for me. I've been on hiatis for about 5-6 weeks due to personal stuff & no computer. But I am back! I'm from the Chicago area also - some great running/wlaking trails just about everywhere! Enjoy, be kind to yourself and use the tools MFP offers is the only advice I have to offer right…

I can only speak for myself but I found Great people at MFP, insirational, motivational, informational but mostly friendly. Best of luck to you ...be healthy and welcome!

I have a great friend in Sacramento but she doesn't like fitness, she's more about pool, gambling, and drinking so I probably shouldn't introduce you haha

Lately, I have been bad because lack of time. but plan to get it together soon again... welcome and hope you make friends closer to home, but not necessary on this MFP, everyone has been great to me

Ditto...I use the chest strap with all my info in it for an accurate reading. I've always heard that is most correct.

I did my best loosing 25 lbs by logging in every day, for the past several months I have maintained but not lost the last 8-12 lbs to reach my goal because I don't log my food daily lately....so just saying, I think it really helped me. I made it a priority and I got a scale and measure my food....plus I started running.…

i had the same thing plus numbness .... it was suggested to me to loosen the laces, sounds silly but made all the difference in the world. give it a shot, might be more for you but that simple solution was given to me by a MFP ...good luck, hope it's something as simple as that

And yes, reduce the sodium. I actually just learned earlier this year about sodium. I am fortunate enough to have great blood pressure so I thought I didn't need to worry about the sodium "monster". I was straightened out by the cardiologist I work with....well ok, actually the nurses. haha. The heart can potentially be…

I've always heard that even if you are overweight, losing 10 lbs and exercising will drastically change your BP....best to you,

This is why I love MFP....you even went to the trouble to find a link for this FP - Very cool, nice of you!

I depend on my HRM (Heart Rate Monitor) and I've heard they are the most accurate. Did you program in your weight?

thanks everyone, I needed this information also, been playing around with those last few ugly pounds. I think my habits started slacking too, not with exercise but with food so now that the bbqs are over for a while I need inspiration to get serious again.
-
That's true, all the advice I heard when I hit a platueu was to mix it up....very good advice, cause I finally started losing again by mixing up the exercise and food intake (I think they refered to it as "tricking the brain/body) RELAX!! RELAX!!

Wow, you have done so fantastic already, 66lbs!!! Is this just a bad day or is it a habit stressing over calories? Just curious... I always go for peanut butter or almonds when I need to boost the calories...but I usually have the opposite problem cause I love to eat. I am interested to see what responses you get. Keep up…

I always heard 2300/day is recommended unless you have health issues (diabetes, heart etc), in which case your doctor should dictate the amount.

Get healthy and usually the benefit is a lot of weight loss. How cool for you going to Europe! I love MFP, lots of great information and inspiration....I sat around reading it for long time and didn't get any healthier at all oh yeah then I actually started exercising and eating better. Things started to change then ...…

can you do something with the 5 & 10 year olds in your life? Kids usually love to get out and play. Plus what a great example you would be giving them. Can you rollerblade where you are at? That is what I did when my girls were little. Even threw the baby in the stroller and pushed her while we bladed. How about swimming…

Being a mom of 3 girls, 23, 21 and 14 I LMAO at your post....so true but what the heck don't forget that really after all you have said for all those years, she really was listening! Way to Pops!

I measured for several months when I got started, just to get the visual of what a 1/4, 1/2, or full cup was. It really helped me. Plus the suggestion of getting a scale was a great idea. I do eye-ball stuff more now but I also have a pretty realistic idea of how much a portion is now. I also chew, chew and then chew some…
