  • What's your budget? And what is your style (maybe link to a couple of examples)? Anything you would like to avoid (like 1 shoulder styles)? My go to place for a nice occasion dress is Nordstrom. Recently bought this one for our anniversary dinner:…
  • Oops, I just realized I posted this in the wrong part of the forum. So to make it fit here, anyone have any tips, plus some words of motivation? Why won't that darn abdominal measurement go down?
  • By far, my favorite place name is Termonfeckin in Ireland. Mainly because I just love the feck. Laugh every time I see the town name.
  • My dad used to take me on dates when I was little. It was really something special for us, especially since he was usually out at sea half the year. It was always fun, but also educational - for example, he taught me about tipping on 1 date. I'm 37 and we have a date this Saturday. First one we've had in years since I got…
  • I stick to 2 very basic salads that can be served with just about any protein. The first (my favorite): - Arugula - olive oil - red wine vinegar - toasted pine nuts - shaved parmesan - sea salt Mix olive oil and red wine vinegar in a bowl (3:1 ratio). Throw in the arugula. Crush a little sea salt over it. Toss in a small…
  • Ours just arrived yesterday. Hoping to start this weekend. My husband has recently started exercising (although he doesn't need to lose weight) as well. So I'm hoping he will do it with me. Don't think I will start tonight, as my shins and calfs are a bit sore from running yesterday.
  • That sounds delicious. I wish I had some green onions in the house right now. It would be a perfect side dish for the salmon I'm making for dinner
  • Thanks. Definitely familiar with toe taps, hyper extensions, and straight leg bridge on a ball. I can incorporate those at home. And will talk with my trainer about incorporating more deadlifts and/or good mornings with her at the gym.
  • I was 196 at my high and a 16. 193 when I started MFP. Down to 182 and down to a 14. I've lost a lot more in inches than in pounds.
  • I too am currently smoking. Which is just stupid since I was able to quit so easily for each pregnancy. But that's a whole other issue. I don't smoke in the mornings before I go to the gym. I also don't smoke at least 30-60 minutes before I go for a fast walk/jog. It was hard on my lungs in the beginning. But it's gotten…
  • $900 on hair extensions. And I love them. But I won't redo them this time when they are ready to come out in October. I would rather save that money to spend on new clothes when I need them.
  • Can you talk to me about your dizziness? I've always described mine more of a woozy feeling - like I took cold medicine and my head is heavy and I have a hard time focusing. I also get unsteady on my feet. It was the what first sent me to the doctor last year for a physical. I never expected it to be a thyroid issue. And…
  • Yep, I told myself when I hit 20lbs lost I would do a little mini-splurge shopping trip to get some new pants and stuff. So I'll just have to take these in.
  • The bottle on the phone worked and I took it before I even got out of bed this morning!
  • Nursing my 13 month old, 3rd baby. Only 1-2 times a day now though. I think the key to figuring out the right amount of calories and exercising is to see how it affects your mulk supply. If you're getting too few calories or exercising too much, your supply may very well drop.
  • I originally put it in under cardio as circuit training for 20 minutes. I recently got a HRM and checked that way. MFP estimate for 20 minutes circuit training was pretty close to what my HRM said. MFP was about 10 calories higher. Now I just rely on the HRM.
  • Yeah, that's what I'm going to try tonight. I keep my cell phone and a bottle of water on my night stand. So I was going to put the medicine bottle on top of the phone, so I would have to pick it up. Now I just have to remember to do it tonight. It's amazing how quickly my symptoms have come back with not taking it…
  • I'm in. I started a few weeks ago and then dropped off. Not because it was hard, but because life just got in the way. But I was planning on starting again tonight after I take the dog for a walk/run. So this is perfect timing. Starting weight 183. I'll see if I can do measurements this evening.
  • This is one of my favorite recipes right now. It's a hit with my kids too. We make it with thighs instead of drumsticks http://www.skinnytaste.com/2010/07/asian-glazed-drumsticks.html
  • Insurance does not typically cover cosmetic procedures. There would be a few exceptions to this of course. For example, reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy. I've also heard of insurance covering partial costs of tummy tucks, if the apron is really bad or if the muscles underneath are severely separated
  • Today I had: Bowl Chicken Fajita Veggies Tomato Salsa Corn Salsa Medium Sals Guac 475 Cals. Eaten all in 1 sitting I usually get some variation of that - sometimes without any or all of the salsas. If I had a good workout that morning, I may get all that in a burrito - used to eat the burrito in one sitting. I no longer…
  • It won't be a total ghost town, but the strip will be somewhat quiet. The ocean front will definitely have more people than the bay side. But I too prefer the bay side. We go to Sandalwood. That's not far from Chick's Beach. Bars/restaurants along the bay (on Shore Drive) are geared more toward locals. Dockside, Bubbas,…
  • There definitely sounds like something is wrong with the oven, or you had the temp too low, if it wasn't cooked after 2 hours. A 3lb chicken is not that big. Start at a high temp - 500 - to get a good, crispy skin. Then drop the temp down after 30 minutes. When I did mine this week, I dropped it to 450 and it was done in…
  • I would go by your heart rate monitor. And now I need to go back and read the instructions on mine. I have the type that it is a watch and it probably has a calorie mode that I could be using instead of doing all this averaging/multiplying/etc.
  • That's pretty good. I was logging 200 calories burned based on taking the average of my HR. And doing that calculation gives me 201.
  • So let me ask you this, to make sure I'm figuring out my calories burned based on my HRM correctly. While doing 30DS, I checked my HR several times - during cardio, strength, and ab work. Then I basically took an average of the numbers because I knew I wasn't spending the entire time in the 160s (cardio) or in the low 100s…
  • I started it last week. When I started I just logged it as general circuit training for 20 minutes. It's a similar type of cardio-strength circuit that my trainer does and she told me to log my workouts with her as circuit training. Over the weekend, I got a HRM and found I don't burn as many calories at the general…
  • Ramped up my water intake today. Was at work 1 hour and I had to pee twice. Haven't peed this much since I was pregnant.
